LOL Brilliant, you had me going right till the end with that one. Now Make one ten times that size to wake the neighbors hehehe :) The Black finish was awesome, looks like there was some gold in there too.
Very skilful and imaginative work Harrry. Glad to see you using the tennis ball. Some of my friends who are not turners visit my workshop and seem befuddled why I have a tennis ball in my range ot tools. I use it a lot for turning goblets in much the same way that you utilised it when making the speaker.
Congrats on the 50k. 100k in no time!!🎉 This has to be the most exciting of your projects yet. I really didn't know that it would make much of a difference in sound but good to know. Really awesome 💝 thanks for sharing with us.
Hi: Harry I am a huge fan of yours and really enjoy reading what you share, I have been inspired by many of your works and it has helped me a lot, I also really enjoy turning. To show my gratitude to you, I would like to sponsor you a set of carbide turning tools that we produce ourselves, I made many improvements to retractable and no sharpening because I am a turning tool maker. I hope you can keep on bringing us more and better works and help more friends who love turning, I will always support you. I look forward to hearing from you .
Wow that turned out awesome Harry! At first I wasn’t into the black but when you put on that gold it popped! 👍🏻 I may try that when I get my new lathe up and going! Picking it up tomorrow after a long long wait! 😊Congratulations on the 50k! 👏Thank you for sharing!
Very cool and it works. I once made something the shape of a speaker from an antique record player with a spot at the base for the phone and these things definitely amplify the sound.
@@HarrySmithWoodturning in fact its that neat I think i'll try that myself but with the phone slot length ways and a magnetic charger🤔....see what happens😎
Just done one in yew with length ways slot. Came up very nice! The mk2 version will have mag charger when I work out best way to do it. Thanks for the inspiration 👍🏻
Gorgeous black and gold finish ! As for the feet, I’d rather have the spikes turned towards the floor, and use only 3 instead of 4. It makes it more efficient for sound and vibrations transmission, and also more stable. And you don’t need the final sanding for levelling adjustment !
Do you ever stop thinking of what you can create next? I couldn’t for the life of me workout what you were doing to make a speaker. Thanks again for sharing your crazy mind with us. 👍🏻
Amazing Harry. But firstly a HUGE CONGRATULATION on hitting 50K subscriber. Truly deserved mate. I couldn't work out where you were going with this one right up until the end. It works really well, Great video Harry and congratulations once again. Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
Thank you very much as always Huw! Its amazing to pass such a massive milestone, but I couldn't have done it without support from people like yourself 😁👍
3 months until my lathe and shop is built ground up. Counting down. Love the vids. After the black, it almost looked like morta / bog oak for a min. Looks great by the way.
Congratulations 🎉 I have the lathe finally and a few tools but no where to set up yet. It is exciting none the less. Good luck and hopefully will be watching some of your work someday 😁
@@deastover898 that’s been my problem for 2 years! Where I live, a small house without a garage costs at least 1.5million. I have no where to keep a large piece of equipment. My other stuff I carry outside as I need it. Finally, we are moving an hour away where it is more affordable and a caveat to the house choice was I could build a shop or convert a garage. :) been going insane wanting one, searching for them and no where to keep and use it! One of the longest waits I’ve had to do for something I’m so obsessed with and important to my work as well. I probably would have rented a small place even though that’s $$ but I have to be by my special needs son so it has to be at home. Good luck and hope you find the spot! I almost went with a shed outside but it was a bit sketchy plus heat and noise ..
Interesting story Peter! Glad you can finally move to a place that allows you to do something you love. Let me know what you get up to once its set up 👍😊
Hello Harry, great project :) can you tell me what kind of golden cream you applied after the black polish to bring out the grain? Great thing. Greetings Stephen.
Liked the finish. What was the wood? Another piece of your almost extinct elm? I can remember sticking a 'pocket' cassette player in a cardboard box to 'increase' the volume. I suppose this is a bit more of an 'up-market' solution! .
@@HarrySmithWoodturning It looks a bit coarse grained for ash, but as its small dia, its probably ''new' growth. I've got four ash trees down, 500-600 mm dia, waiting for me to log and shift them., together with a couple of oaks, poplar, etc. etc. All I need now is the energy, and the enthusiasm!😊 _PS. If you are ever in my location with a van, I can give you a load of wood to take home!_ .
Was waiting on electronics and speakers🤣 That finish is freakin out of this world. What is the gold that you put on over the black????? New follower btw
Thanks for watching! I have an Axminister variable speed lathe, its about 20 years old but is perfect. All I can recommend is getting something with variable speed 👍
This was the very first cut my turf has received since been laid (1 month) ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Very happy with the product and delivery. Was cut at the highest setting, I Was able to cut upto the boundaries with ease with exception of the corners for obvious reasons. Very little loose grass left ad the box was large enough to hold everything garden size roughly 24m2. There was no assembly instructions with it, it's not difficult to put together, RUclips the item if your unsure. Would recommend for small gardens like myn.
