Gotta have one! Only, I think I'll use a router and make the chamber in two halves so as to make boring a lot easier. Will have to make a video of my own. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for your comment! The harder the reflector, the better, so maple would be a good choice. For reference, I felt that lighter and softer wood for the main body would give better sound quality. ( This was surprising to me! )
Ipe wood. Also known as "ironwood." Decking material used for boardwalks in public facilities. Very hard and heavy. Sinks in water. I use the leftover material from when I built a wooden deck at my home.
amazing , 2 things , please could you do a video on your dowel maker , it is of interesting construction , and the second , Konnichiwa from Australia .
@@7chome_seisakusyo Interesting, ype is a very common tree here in Brazil, we separate them by the color of flowering, including the pink color is very similar to the flowering of the Japanese cherry tree.

super cool i love it, i designed resonation systems in my younger days for musical instrument makers, you should check out helmholtz resonance theory for amplification I think it could help you with your next design iterations and it would also help to add some well place sticky back felt in the cavity to absorb some of the higher frequencies.

Maybe you are right, I am not an acoustic expert, but the most important: it does not sound like a smartphone any more! The sounds are not so nervousness and with some app you can use an equalizer to adjust the things.

@ 5 minutes you fumbled quite a bit with the vacuum shroud interfering with changing the bit. Please consider removing the screws and hold the shroud with rare earth magnets or with hook and loop tape.
I love the look, your work, and your shop. But I have to say, it didn’t really sound good. To me it sounded like it was blowing out the highs and drowning out the mids and lows.

If you vary the 2dn reflector depht, can you "equalize" the sound? I mean, get more or less bass or high?
I think it's possible, but I'm not sure.
It is interesting to try to make it an adjustable type.

the sound is more linear without your acoustic amplificater, you add resonance in mid, kill the high and don't get more bass
but it's louder yes
Good.
