    Looks like a tool for some kind of vessel or possibly pipe joint, I guess a blow mould tool or is it for injection mould, probably not?

    What CAM software did you use to program this? The toolpath choices are pretty interesting at times, not quite sure they are optimal but many CAM softwares use different "algorithms" for lack of better terms.

      That would have to be massively counterbalanced, and the lathe would only be cutting for less than half the time. It's not a part that lends itself to turning.

    The better way to make large radiuses with small radiuses in their corners is using T-slot mill. This way is faster and cheaper.

      That's right, but this groove is shaped both on the bottom and on the sides.
