    I bought a new Concours 14 in 2010. Still have it, still love it! I've done some enhancements. I lowered mine since I'm only 5'6" and it's a fairly heavy bike especially if you can't touch the ground solidly. I also installed a ZX-14 header and converted to dual exhausts. Handle risers to give a bit more upright feel. Larger windshield, custom seat, K/N air filter, and had the ECU reflashed professionally. The bike is very fast and responsive.

    Just snagged a mint 2008 last summer with 14K miles for $4000 usd. Love it. No abs, no modes, no linked brakes- just a locomotive of a motorcycle, pure and simple.

    I rode Hill Country on my 2012 C14 after the 2013 Austin MotoGP. I unlinked my brakes a long time ago, so much better. Also got a Guhl reflash to open the secondary butterflies much earlier, way more oomph down low. A few more mods (HID headlights to burn the paint off the license plate of the car in front of you holding you up, insanely loud horn) to make it nice, now the only problem is always replacing tires because when you ride a 700 lb bike hard, it eats tires. Whatever, that's what it's for. Got to ride mine yesterday, 43 and sunny, gotta take what you can get in January!

    I ride the Concours hard on good riding days, the bike will eat rear tires up like a ZX or Busa. I like to see the traction control light come when it's leaning in corners.

    Nice bike. I have a 2012. If you get one I would recommend getting the ecu flashed. The factory tune programming leaves the potential of the bike untouched. It can produce a lot more power than what it comes with. I recommend Shoodaben Engineering for all concours 14 flashes of which they have three.

      +Alberto Knox I'm just seeing this post a year late, but no it doesn't. the bike is limited to 156MPH in the 2010-2015 models, and the 2008-2009 bikes had a hard time getting to 160. I've been to the limit, and the wind screen never moves on it's own.

    • @272flashlites
      @272flashlites 9 лет назад

      Alberto Knox No problem, but you should lower it at high speed. the wind buffet will damage the screens motors or mounts.

    There good at eating miles fast and like open higways but will heat up in the city quickly. They use up tires really fast . Taped my one out to 280kph two up and still had more, unfortunately the road got too bumpy.

    What's this bike like compared with the Honda Blackbird, I used to own a Blackbird which I loved riding, but couldn't take the heat of the engine and the leaning on the wrists anymore, is this bike any better for those issues? The Concours looks slightly more comfy from what I can see, no reviews have mentioned the heat being an issue either? Any advice much appreciated.

    • @choppertj1
      @choppertj1 9 лет назад +1

      The 2009 n earlier models are hot! In 2010 they changed the faring to deflect a lot of it. The stance doesn't have you leaning on the bars too much either. I hate that and I can ride this thing ALL day. I'm in Phoenix so the heat was also an issue for me. I had an FJR n got rid of it for a Connie! GREAT BIKE

      Blimey that is good, I live in England though. Its either gonna be a Concours (we call them GTR1400 here) or a Honda F6B, not sure if I want the more responsive sportier ride of the Concours or the laid back Honda, I'm sure both are great for long days in the saddle, shame I cant afford both really :-(

    • @pechorin1975
      @pechorin1975 6 лет назад

      A Kaoko throttle lock is very helpful. It's not "real" cruise control, but it's at least a way to give your hand and wrist a break from time to time, which is the main thing. Wish mine had cruise, but I wouldn't consider it a deal-breaker.
