Karla Bonoff, with guitar accompaniest Nina Gerber, performs Karla's Grammy-Winning song, All My Life, made famous by Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville. One of Karla's most successful songs, it's been part of hundreds of wedding ceremonies for three decades and always a staple of her live performances. Originally recorded on her New World album, when Karla sent the album to Linda Ronstadt, it was another Karla song that Linda decided to cover and the rest is music and Grammy history. Видеоклипы
One of the great under-rated singer songwriters of a generation. A wordsmith, a beauty, I've been a fan forever.
My comment from 4 months ago appears right under yours. I have also loved Karla’s music forever…her songs hit me where I live…
Couldn't agree more. Awesome singer songwriter.
So true!
her music was all the time playing at home each time i listen to" i cant hold on" give me chills she is a jewel such style singing great compositions supported by great musicians and of course her sweet voice an authentic ever lasting bonbon
Who's here in the month of May, 2024?
me, Hello from Malaysia
Hi from Turkey
She is still one of the absolute very best singer/songwriter/performers to ever live. Thank God for Karla Bonoff.
Lord I love this woman! Many stars, most notably Linda Ronstadt, owe their careers to Karla who wrote many of her greatest hits.
Karla's music has brought me a lifetime of joy - what a gift she is. Thank you.
Greetings from Turkey❤ I was here, now i am here and always will be. Stay in peace😊
huzur dolu bir şarkı
This song marked my life in a very critical moment. And this version with the piano is a real a master piece of what we can call ART
Whenever I listen to this song, I remember the old days. PARLIAMENT CINEMA CLUB 1980-1990 ♥️♥️♥️
One woman, one piano, an incredibly written song = incredible richness. Thank you, Karla. Just beautiful..
My fingers were crossed that “All My Life” would be the fifth (I won’t say last) in Karla’s Five-Minute Video Concerts. I first owned “New World” on vinyl for my turntable. Then on cassette for my car, then on CD for my Discman and CD player, and now digitally on every device I own. “All My Life” has been famously covered, yes. But through the years and to this day, it has never sounded richer, warmer or more convincing than it has and still does in the hands and the voice of the woman who wrote the song. I would think that the songwriting process plumbs the most profound depths of feelings; it’s one thing to perform a song, it’s quite another to embrace it, to phrase it, to truly believe it. For embracing “All My Life,” Karla… for believing it, and sharing it, thank you. This cornerstone in your songbook is a timeless treasure.
Who’s listening and watching this in 2024? I really love this and introduced to my wife, she loved it too.. one of the best! 🥰🥰👏👏
There's no voice, and no writer, on earth that hits me like you do, Karla. You're uniquely gifted and expressive like no one else I know of. Shout out to Nina, too: the perfect accompanist! Thank you both, form the bottom of my heart.
Turks who spent their early childhood in the 90s would immediately recognize this song and go like this is “the parliament cinema club song”, isn’t it?
Found Karla 46 years ago here in Australia. Loved her ever since
This is one of the greatest songs ever, and I love you Karla Bonoff !!!
One of the most loved foreign song and singer by Turkish people. In nineties this was the opening song for a tv channels' Sunday evening movie program. Perfect song perfect singer
大好きな人!大好きな曲!
Thank you, Karla & Nina, a pristine performance. . .
Wonderfull 🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
I wonder if she knows there’s a whole generation of Turkish kids who loves her because of this song. It played on TV every Sunday night in the early 90s
this song is very important for every Turk who lived her childhood in the 90s
When I was a teen/twenty something back in the 70's and 80's, My Father's Place was literally 40 minutes from my home. Had no clue. Probably just up in my room on Saturday nights spinning records, while the artists I was listening to were just a stone's throw away. Please come back, Ms. Bonhoff when Eppie Epstein opens it again. And please sing "The Water Is Wide"-I love every version of it that's ever been sung, but yours is like a prayer to me.
Hello karla ,i love this song,i love you karla.thank you all time
Still can't believe how this song didn't hit 1 billion views.
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Teşekkürler karla,bu müziği hiç unutamam 90 yıllar unutulmaz
❤Really beautiful!!! Thank you again.
Ms. Bonoff had the "unfortunate" happenstance of being a singer songwriter at the same time as Carly Simon, Carol King, and the great Joni Mitchell. Also performing at the same time was Linda Ronstadt. But as soon as I read the album sleeve of one of Linda Ronstadt's albums and saw the name Karla Bonoff as the writer, I had to find out if she made albums. She did! So I've enjoyed her music for over 40 years. Thank you, Karla. P.S. I think you're beautiful and had a crush on you for years.😘
I second what you posted. Just discovered this amazing woman myself. A rare find indeed 👍
🎯 👏 !!
Tremendous, beautiful a gifted songwriter and singer. Thank you Karla!
her voice never change...amazing artist! Fans in Austria here!:)
Another amazing performance by Nina and Karla. 😻
I have been a fan for over forty years. Our first dance at our wedding was to this song....YOUR original recording and not Linda Ronstadt’s rendition. Only YOU can perform it as it was intended. So heartfelt, so amazing! Love all your music! Thanks for enriching so many lives with your gifts.
Saw Karla and Kenny at Capitol theatre in Clearwater FL few years ago....tears streaming down my face..thank you Karla for letting the tears flow
Great to see Nina playing the guitar with you. She is such a talent. Outstanding song and performance.
Wow...came across this by accident. Had a band in the '70's that played a showcase night at the old "My Father's Place." Great times....
Karla....part of the soundtrack of my life...:)
Karla is a beautiful song bird , she makes me cry. She blows me away . One of musics true angels!
Dear Karla, this song was used as a pre-film music (Parlament Sinema Club) in Turkey in the early 90's. All Turkish youth in the past know this music and this music reminds them of good things.
amazing song, great singer karla bonoff
Ive really love this song so much...even if i am at the age of 40...still i love it!....
Someone to lay down beside me. Very strong. I was only a kid, but that melody and vocal all these years.
I saw Karla, Nina and Kenny in Henderson, Nevada in 2004 or 2005 and was blessed to get front row seats. The concert was a large venue but they kept it feeling intimate. Afterwards, they greeted the crowd, chatted and signed autographs. It was a rare feeling of closeness I left with, and the realization that these are genuine people who appreciate their fans and share their talents with us made it even more special. Thanks for putting these 'mini-concerts' up for us to see and listen to. I've been moved by Karla's music since hearing 'Personally' on the radio in the early 80s and she still stirs my heart with her beautiful voice, poignant lyrics and gifted instrumentation. Thanks, Nina, for making your presence felt and heard with your gentle, skillful support. And I miss Kenny, too.
I first heard Karla Bonoff when I was living in Seattle in 1978, and her songs have been with me ever since. She is one of the musicians I dedicated my book "Music, Evolution, and the Harmony of Souls" to, back in 2017 - one of the "special few (that) have enriched my life beyond measure" . Karla, come to Australia some time?!
Your voice sounds as beautiful as ever. ❤️
Beautiful voice!
Thank you Karla ....Goosebumps......Nice
Tremendous bridge. A clinic on how to write a love story
First heard her music in the 1990s and I'm still blown away by her music. Happy to learn I was born the same year as she. Just one more little thing.
Enjoyed many of your concerts since the 70"s and can;t wait to see you again. Hopefully SOON. Thanks for the beautiful live Videos.
Beautiful !! This was my wedding song !! Now I apply it to days I spent with certain family members. And it’s so special !!! 😭❤️😍if one uses their imagination and changes lyrics to their story. But all in
All its gorgeous song !!! I had it at my wedding in 1993 !! Then I left him 😭😍but life goes on. I was just thinking of my aunt using this song !! Karaoke theme version !! U have gorgeous voice !!!

Karla, I have loved your music forever. First heard your songs in the 70s and became a huge fan. Of all your compositions, All My Life is my absolute favorite. To this day, every time I listen to it, it brings tears to my eyes. Would love it if you would come to Toronto on one of your tours…would love to see you in concert…
You go Karla..!!!!! Simply Beautiful..!!!!
Wow!!!
My wife & I saw her at Memorial Hall in Cincinnati last night. That being saiid the venue seemed acoustically perfect, and able to entertain two of thee= vocalist made p
I came to this video due to my love of the version by Linda and Aaron - I had absolutely no preconceptions about what I was going to hear, although secretly I just knew that it could not be as good (Linda Ronstadt just BLOWS ME AWAY vocally). I was WRONG! Karla's vocal not only kills me, it gives me immediate resuscitation, only to slay me all over again! Karla - you now have a fan! Best to you from the UK. X
Happy Birthday Karla
Am I really here in your arms
This is just like I dreamed it would be
I feel like we'e frozen in time
And you'e the only one I can see
And hey
I've looked all my life for you
Now you're here
And hey
I'll spend all my life with you
All my life
And I never really knew how to love
I just hoped somehow I'd see
Oh I asked for a little help from above
Send an angel down to me
And hey
I've looked all my life for you
And now you're here
And hey
I'll spend all my life with you
All my life
I never thought I could feel a love so tender
I never thought I could let those feelings show
But now my heart is on my sleeve
And this love will never leave
I know I know
And hey
I've looked all my life for you
And now you're here
And hey
I'll spend all my life with you
All my life
*I always hated that Linda Ronstadt got the credit for this song and so MANY others that were Karla's!! I was blessed to see Karla in concert 3 times in my younger years. She is still a favorite today and I am in my 60's now. Her music was so much a soundtrack for my life. A truly talented and sadly underrated writer and singer!!!*
This was one of the songs in my wedding video. Married for 15 yrs now. 😀
I saw Karla and Janice Ian together in 2009 or 10. They were both great.
This is amazing. There is nothing, nothing! like seeing an artist with their creation. The true owner.
That was absolutely beautiful.
👍
Amazing songwriter.
Always making something better than great. I'm on my second covid trip and this took me out my funk.
Her voice never changes. Gorgeous.
Bu şarkıyı ne zaman dinlesem eski günler aklıma geliyor PARLİAMENT CINEMA CLUB 1980-1990 ♥️♥️♥️
Thanks so much, a fantastic song.
The Best! I think I only missed one MN gig. She takes up more space in my scrapbook than anyone. I really need to find out where I can post some of the pictures of her and Kenny and Wendy that I have......I was fortunate to see her with Jackson Browne and have been a fan ever since. Thanks for entertaining us while we are sort of stuck at home. Come back to Mn soon.
"Parliament Cinemaclub presents: The Sunday Night Cinema" :)
Ne kadar pürüzsüz harika bir ses canlı olarak dinlemeyi çok isterdim... Ozlemle anılan hatıralarım canlandı.
That voice, those words, can always sooth the savage beast in me. I love these Friday Five Minute Video's. Please keep these going.

Her poetry and voice still makes me drift. I have been feeling the depth of her creativity in music for over 40 years. Not many can give that longevity & quality in the field of music. Thanks, KB.
She kind of gets to places in your brain that others can't seem to reach.
