Great videos bud. I love PING clubs because they will do loft and lie adjustments for free for the life of the clubs, even if you are not the original owner. Here in Canada for an additional $100 they will do a fitting of your existing equipment. Not too sure if the other manufacturers do the same thing. Keep up the good work!

Might be useful to mention that you can have any off the rack clubs tailored to fit your swing. You can add or remove length when you get new grips and you can have the loft and lie adjusted by up to a few degrees especially on forged irons and you can have your shafts replaced as well so you can still custom fit your grandpas clubs or you can go get new clubs fit as well

I was that guy! Yes sir I'm watching. I had my first lesson this week and I'm going to get fitted in December. I'm 6'2 and like you said I don't want to develop bad habits because my clubs arn't optimized for me. New shiny clubs for Christmas 🎄.

I get there is a difference between buying new clubs to upgrade to newer technology to take advantage of improved features, or just chasing the new club with the thought it will fix your swing....I've done both! I upgraded from the Cleveland Halo Xl irons (big chucky hybrid looking heads) to the XL Launcher which are more like a players club, and I am playing better with them, but maybe I'm just playing better. You make some great points. Thanks for the video!

Great video! I’ve been playing for a year and a half, and have 3.5 sets 😂 in order: Wilson Profile Platinum (+1”), Taylormade RP TP (standard), Goodwill mixed bag with an 8 and a 9 iron at the same height, Titleist 718 AP3’s (standard). My Wilson set was ok, but I didn’t want to have to go the custom route for all of my sets going forward…picked the Finau route 😂 The R9’s are still good clubs, but the Titleist AP3’s are the in-between club that I needed. I’m 6’1” and the standard height is forcing me to stay down in my swing which is helping my game. They’re not brand new, but not 14 years old either. Technology makes a difference, as well as lofts with newer clubs. Buy what you like, just try not to get carried away because like new cars, a new model is coming out very soon!

The course you play at seems so chill. I wish I had a less populated course near me to just go and practice and relax at.
It's near impossible to find a solo tee time. Maybe a video about how to handle pressure/playing with random people?

@@EllipsesDots That's a big reason why I joined this course. Or in the other videos you see me play at the same course because it's super chill and usually not busy. I can definitely make a vdeo on it! You can scroll back to some videos ago about anxiety I go a bit into it

I picked up the Callaway edge set from Costco. They are great for beginners and have helped me learn a lot. They do have some limitations and I’m starting to feel them in some of my shots so I’m getting close to point to clubs.
The real answer, when the wife says so. Lol😂

I had a set from 97 I bought on ebay. Went to dicks and bought a used set of Callaway mavrik irons for less than half what they cost new. Got to test them out before I left and I could return them in 2 weeks if I didn't like them. Now that I'm significantly better I wonder if I could have kept my older set, but the forgiveness of the mavriks makes believe I'd probably still be struggling with the cheapo set.

I think having the forgiveness when getting better makes you better much quicker. Allows you one less thing to worry about and can focus more on course and mental management

I want a new driver (of course, right?) I don’t need one but I want it. I also don’t want to spend the money for a new driver. So I’m going to go for a fitting in February when the newer drivers will be coming out so I can try to save some money on the outgoing models.

I’m still playing the MP-57s, I have tried to find a reason to replace them for a decade but they are just too much fun. I just replace the long irons with hybrids and woods.

How tall are you? I knew I’d probably need taller clubs because I’m 6’4” however, I’ve never had a fitting so I’m currently just using these +2” irons in which I’m good with until I get beyond the 6i. I now feel like I should definitely get fitted. I’m a cheapskate though so I’ll still probably never get new clubs🤷🏾‍♂️

@@adjustin2fishin330 brotha go get fitted lol nowadays it's like the cost of one or two rounds of golf. Plus you don't have to buy anything but you can't figure out if you need to adjust anything. I'm 6'2 and use plus 0.5 on my irons. +2 in is quite a lot of imagine at 6'4 but maybe it does work for you. And it also depends on a length.

I'm tall AF but I got long arms so my actual club length is standard and my lie is 1° flat because my hands are so low like a goblin 😵‍💫
