The challenge playing ATO solo is there's a lot to keep track of. All your Titans have different gear that trigger special abilities under different conditions as well as Mnemos and Fated Mnemos abilities. Don't be discouraged by the need to retcon your decisions once in awhile.
I was euphoric at the end of Cycle I. The final battle was the most epic and engaging board game experience I’ve had. Such a bombastic finale on a journey like no other. I can also see this game is not for everyone. Each to their own.
Each cycle in this game is an Odyssey (pun intended), but it is a very rewarding game. I was also burned out at the end of each cycle, but I took a break of a couple months in between and each cycle has been better than the one before. I am now waiting and looking forward to cycle IV and V. Also, this is a solo/coop game, so it is a good thing that people can fudge the rules to adjust it to a level where they are having fun. Don't overthink the results of the poll on BGG.
Congratulations on the win mate! Curious to know, did you go all the way towards the last day? Also did you try and take adavantage of how despair is negated when your the affected titan has an adjacent friend? Good luck with your C2 playthrough :)
I reached the 'final destination' on day 74, so had a few days up my sleave, but the last few battles were horrific. Throughout this Cycle, the despair tokens were the aspect of the rules that I misplayed the most. I both forgot to apply the penalties, and forgot to remove them when wounding.
This is why I avoid games with a bazillion figures, they typically have whacky gameplay and poor development. It’s as if the publisher’s expectation is that all the figures will mitigate frustrating sessions. Hard pass!

Nice wrap-up!

Try a cycle two and three! Don’t resign!
I saw that you put this up on FB marketplace, so I can only assume you definitely decided NOT to continue the game 😄
If someone wants to buy it, I'll sell, otherwise I'll continue....
