Thanks for a fascinating run through of your very nice collection of GMT games. You seem to have gotten a good deal of your money's worth out of the games! A fun, engaging hobby. One thing I noticed, looking over all your GMT games, almost no games focused on Air Combat (such as Wing Leader) and only one game (Atlantic Chase) based on Naval at sea conflict. A good deal of World War II, high level strategic games and campaigns (grand scope) and a dabbling mostly in Roman and War of Roses games (it would seem). Also, not a single fantasy or Sci-Fi GMT game interesting enough. Will look forward if you do another video on your other game company collections which I imagine you organized on other shelves.
Nathan excellent review really enjoy expert gamers observations on various games that I have played and agree with almost all of the analysis-thank you
Thanks for the tour. It's a nice fun collection I have several of those games and find GMT games to be really interesting. A couple I would comment on. Thunder Alley. I bought this game a few years ago when it was on sale. I'm not a race fan, but people spoke highly of it. I set it up with family on a holiday and we really had a good time. Played three times in a week. We've now played Apocalypse Road a few times. Same base design but the cars are armed. The other one is Levy and Campaign. I've tried all of them and like other GMT series, each one feels fairly unique. Maybe try Plantagenet on Rally the Troops to see if you enjoy it. It has the most differences from the other titles.
Nice, that's roughly the size of my entire wargame collection! I have about 15 GMT games, and another 6 on pre-order. If I was starting over, my collection would be smaller, but the proportion of GMT games would be higher. They do such a great job with components, and the price is right. I love the Men of Iron games, and own a couple of GBoH games but haven't tried them yet.
If you were to try another Levy & Campaign I would recommend Plantagenet. While the core mechanisms remain the changes to designer has made means it feels quite different. Also I am not sure if you have Nach Paris by Vuca Sims. Similar in scale complexity to the 1914 series. But I has lots of good smaller scenarios.
When you wind up cracking Gallipoli, definitely make sure you play with the updated/v2.0 charts and rules and such from BGG. The designer of the game is the president of our local game club, and he supports the players really well.
Great collection! I enjoyed your Vietnam videos, and since you recommended it, I am eager to buy it. I hope you make Gallipoli videos too. I have a friend who has it (shrink-wrapped) 😂, and I wish to play it with him. Versailles 1919 is a great negotiation game! It is underrated! GBOH Julius Caesar fascinated me. It's a big game, and I am enjoying it very much. I also look forward to seeing your GBOH ideos. 😊
Can recommend “Empire of the Sun” with the Stuka Joe solo method. This in combination with the Erasmus solo bot can provide a good solo gaming experience.
Always interesting videos. I agree with you on Tanto Monta, disagree on Pursuit of Glory. I don't think you'll care for Illusions of Glory. Will have to give Mr President a try, doesn't sound like my cup of tea but so many good reviews I ma take a chance. Cheers.
Nice video! Thanks for the look at your GMT collection and sharing your thoughts on each game . Interesting to hear your perspective on each game, particularly ones I also own. On Holland 44 - curious if you have any thoughts on what might be an appropriate way for a game designer to handle the bridges to avoid the “issue”you noted? Status of bridges / blowing / building / re~building obviously critical to the real Market Garden and their status / potential for changed status need to addressed in a good simulation of the battle - but can end up with a lot “riding on” a few die rolls, etc. Bridges also a factor in the Ardennes campaign and any simulation of that too such as Ardennes 44
I think the challenge here is that there are relatively fewer bridges compared to other larger sims, so each bridge is more important, and 3-4 bad rolls can be destructive. So maybe a series of 10 counters, and you draw one for each bridge? It guarantees at least some will blow, but you can be assured it won't be all.
I guess you're right about Holland-44 ... fortunately I haven't tried it being totally ruined by bridges, but I guess it can happen. It tells a story though. (Ardennes-44 has briges too btw) I'd skip World-at-War and try WiF instead if I was you. And ... Just leave Stalins War in shrink and get rid of it ... I hated it.
very nice... I'm glad I'm not the only one who really likes Crown of Roses... I agree, that one is really worth the time it takes to learn it... I also really like Gallipoli... I'm curious how the changes to the base system that will come with Mons will affect this one, but I do like it as is... Wellington is another hidden gem, I think... splitting the French into two factions is a bit artificial, but it does make for a great 4 player game... Kutuzov is the same system, but not quite as fun for me, if anything it is because the map is much less interesting It sounds like I might like Pursuit of Glory more than you do. I agree it's not quite on the level of Paths of Glory, but I think Pursuit opens up that theater like no other game does. I like the Men of Iron system just because of the battles it covers, it covers that era niche for me... what I don't like it about the system is there is no reaction in the game... you can just run circles around a unit and it will stand and stare while you cut it off and annihilate it I think Empire of the Sun is one of the great designs of all time, I just have moved away from it because I think the randomness of the dice can affect things too much...
I think you'll like Unconditional Surrender - solo's well with a little bit of creativity and some interesting decisions to make for all sides if you play three sided solo.
Wooow! Quisiera tener el millaje de wargamer tuyo! De todos esos solo he jugado: Nevski, All Bridge Burning, Colonial Twilight, Andean Abyss, Paths of Glory, Sekigahara, Here I Stand, Twilight Struggle, Imperial Struggle! Además poseo el Churchill, Barbaroosa to Berlin, pero estos, aun no los juego

Thanks for that. It's nice to see the thinking processes behind acquiring/keeping/selling games and how others organise their games.

Great overview and micro reviews thanks

Swap it for Blood and Roses or Crown of Roses😂

Yeah I've been thinking about that [and I actually re-watched my EOTS videos yesterday!!!]
Played through the '43 scenario last week using the CDG Solo system. Really enjoyed it and it actually made for a very even game.

1862! Love that game
I'm very keen to try it!
@ the solo game is a good one like you said
@ going to attempt teaching it to a friend but if he doesn’t like it…
You know lol
@@WiseGuyHistory Solo mode is great!

Im the same way. Once I reach a point where I dont think I will play a game again, its gone. Dont have room to collect.
