That’s a really good idea, by the looks of it, with the machine he has he could do it, just machine the plexiglass where he glues it so it sits down a lil farther and becomes flush on the outside, another thing I was thinking he could do, which I’m going to comment about is to get a bunch of different wraps, whether it’s colors or designs and to wrap the CD drive, so it doesn’t just look like a big silver metal piece in there, that would make it look very cool! I’m also going to mention what you said so if he didn’t see your comment maybe he’ll see mine, hope you don’t mind, have a good one buddy

Need to be extremely careful with these boards especially ESD.

Like Adrian in the comments below mentioned, you should make the plexiglass sit flush, you know just machine down the sides where it sits inside the Xbox so it sits beautifully, not sure if you’d have to get a little thicker plexiglass but you should totally do it, also another thing I thought about is to buy different wraps, weather it’s colors or designs and wrap the CD drive, it’ll look much better than just that silver metal panel. Hopefully we both gave you some new ideas, and with the wrap maybe even some extra money! I think they’d look very cool that way and much better! First time viewer here, very cool, I’d love to meet people who do stuff like this so I can watch and maybe even pick up a new skill and good information about electronics. That's what I was thinking too. Hard to compete with that. I do this work too but it's $80 a pop for just the base Xbox alone. Mod chips for these are getting more and more expensive and rare. Don't know how he's able to sell one for $110 and make money. I sell mine for around the 200 mark and I basically break even.

I do not understand why so many difficulties. Install an RGB + cooler to make an overlay on the drive with a flowrescent and tape to place only ultraviolet. The connection is much easier from the power supply and not soldered to the board wires.

my only suggestion to you would be to switch to a dark smoke acrylic instead of a clear... think with the black cage, will look better, especially with purple or blue led's

Shrink wrap works better for that. There are also plenty of better ways to power the lights than to cut the DVD/CDR cable.
The chassis always is a constant ground. There are also actual pinouts that will show you where to solder to for constant power.
