As a Finn, I'm totally fine with us not even trying to seriously win this year, and just sending a funny, entertaining performance. I don't think an ESC entry has ever made me laugh like No Rules! did.

To be fair Käärijä was also kind of joke entry (if we strictly divide the performances as joke and non-joke entries). Although not in the same way, he could be categorized as more 'artistic' than this, but No Rules has more serious lyrics compared to Cha Cha Cha.
To be frank, it’s my favourite this year along with Ukraine and Belgium
I think after last year we Finns just have a feeling that juries can f it. We just want to send the most entertaining show now. To entertein the people, because the people are what matters. Also this was not a favorite to win, until people saw the live show. Even if this does not win, it will be remembered.
Some director from Microsoft said today they love him too and it is totally fine he uses the name Windows95. 😮

They don't have much say in it tbh, since the trademark on Windows95 has expired about 10 years ago, and he has been performing as Windows95man for over a decade now. But was really nice from M$ to publicly endorse him ^_^
Windows 95 and the logo of it are not active trademarks anymore, so they can be used. He told in an interview that Microsoft even sent him Win95 socks at some point. There is possibility that EBU does not like it, so they might have to change for Eurovision, but legally there is no problem.

Knowing the Finnish sense of humor I was not at all surprised this was sent. And I'm sure no one voted for this because they thought it'd win the eurovision, we thought it was funny, that's all! xD Although for some it might also represent a protest against last year's result too...

Windows95 apparently doesn't have copyright anymore. Eurovision has added the name on the list, so we will see if they will need to change it or not. (And at least he wasn't naked 😂).

There is Finnish mythology in the staging: the world was born out of an egg (in this case W95M is born out of an egg made of jeans). The magic jean shorts appear from the sky like by some divine intervention and the fun and fireworks start! It is hilarious!
I'm finn and i love this. I love the song! Its so 90's. The pantless man reminds me of a stereotypical Finnish man from the 90s 😂😂 ps. Everyone who thinks he is naked, he has skin color shorts.... in show i think the story is that after he born from egg he finds hes "wings" (pants) so he can be just the way he is! Like everyone of us should do 🥰

@@Janaofficialmusic Most didn't. Some did. I think he is having a look a nerd working with computers might have had. Though not even all of them had. Notice the sandals over socks. That was considered tastles in the 90's, but yet many people wore them. It is perhaps like wearing crocs few years ago. Also, mullet is more 80's than 90's, and was usually considered unfashionable in the 90's, yet there were still some people who had it. So he is representing a type, which existed in the 90's, but wasn't definitely considered looking cool.
You see, we were a little pissed last year because of what happened with Käärijä. This song was also the last one in the jury votes but won because of public votes. So one could say, this song and performance are our nations middle finger back to ECS jury and of course Sweden. Now let's go party with it!

I feel really sorry for Windows5Man and Henri because Finnish leaving nasty, salty comments under every Windows5Man video. The song is decent and Henri sings well, the show is funny. Fare enough. Personally I like to see this more than the Sara's Oh I wanna hang myself- song.
I think that it will definitely bring split opinions but I always say let’s find something positive in everything! The song is fun and I’m sure the singers are good, because I actually think the vocalist was very good! It’s a silly song so people will feel divided 🤍 sending much love! I have watched many reaction videos to Win95man and I haven't seen that much negative comments, mostly have been positive.

Microsoft already stated they are completely fine with it since Windows 95 has been "dead" operating system for very long time now and apparently even the trademark for it has gone old. From their view Windows 95 is now part of culture history and thus they dont mind at all quite the opposite 😄

Im finn and first time I heard the studio version of this song I thought this is really stupid song. But this live performance was something unique. The person behind the Windows95man character is very dedicated and he said before the live performance the he is actually telling himself time to time no rules, when he had difficult moment in his life. And he has had. No rules is his motto as "why not" also. And also he said that this is not humor music for him. This is serious stuff. Can we make this to be the maximum, yes we can, no rules! I feel that I can have some power for my life from him. And I think that is the reason of this song.character

No, this is his first and he is not a singer as it shows, he is DJ and has been doing live DJ performances as Windows95man in parties, so basecly just playing other peoples songs and keeping party hype up.. He is also artist doing paintings, Ukkeli-art. He is some kind of cultural influencer here in Helsinki, I feel. Many people knows this Teemu Keisteri here in Helsinki, but I actually I didnt actually know why, pefore this happened.
This was not my choice. I voted for Sara to win. But this was the most entertaining show live and all the audience were having so much fun (I was there). So I wasn't surprised that they won. We don't take Eurovision so seriously. Finnish people just want to have fun and send something fun there. Nobody expects this to win.

I voted for this, because this is, I think, the best song and best performance we had available. (Unfortunately, we can't send Käärijä again, because he has said that he will not compete in ESC, anymore). There were some participants, who had nice videos, but they all more or less failed in the live performance, except for this one. Though personally, I supported this from the beginning, but didn't except it to win.
The joke isn't that he isn't (supposedly) wearing pants, it is what you saw, how the cameraman are "desperately" trying to block the view to his private parts by keeping all the time something between them and the camera, and almost failing sometimes. Mind you, camera work like this isn't easy.
As for the rest, I was young in the 90's, so this is very nostalgic for me. And Henri (the soloist wearing the denim jacket) isn't a bad singer at all. And then there is the message of the lyrics; they could be summarised "Be yourself and don't care what others think."

Same for me, wasn't my favourite before the live show, but it was the only truly good show of the evening. Still listen to a few of the other entries and not No Rules, but I did vote for it and do fully support their win.

We don't take Eurovision or ourselves too seriously. And they had the best performance of the night. It was an obvious choice for the Finnish mindset. You either get it or you don't (most probably don't) but that's okay. 😅

Love the message and also how it combines the Finnish mythodology Kalevala where the world is created from the goldeneyess’ egg,
In the stage performance the singer Henri represents the bird (see the similarity of the movements and the clothing) and the Windows95man is born (as all humans) naked only wearing Kalevala inspired boots. The stage coordinator (the establishment/juries) tries in the middle of the song give the rules to our hero but he puts the instructions flying in the air. He wants to be free and who he is despite what the others try him to be!
So Finnish people think screw the high establishment juries and let’s have fun and be who we are and send something that IS us! But anyway please enjoy and have fun with a serious message! Here again Finland shows why we are the happiest country in the world for 6 years in a row with its's own peculiar fun way!

Windows 95 is no longer a protected trademark today. Hardly anyone uses the product anymore. Thus, the name and outfit are allowed.
When Windows95man's road to Eurovision continues, the issue has been re-examined. The European Broadcasting Union EBU strictly prohibits advertising.

The jury wronged not only Käärjä, but also Germany and other countries. If it weren't for Abba's anniversary, they might have voted for other artists. Moreover, they should be objective. The magical denim shorts (the only ones) is Win95Man's trademark. This is his 1st single with an eagle sound, so of course he's born naked from an egg. 🤣 And Henri, the singer, represents an eagle. The crowd went crazy and voted for him.

Microsoft was proud of this character and usage of their win95 logos. And it seems to be ok in Eurovision because the Windows95 is not active product.
All this camerawork is genius !, It is well planned to not show his parts too much😂 camerawork is all staged insanely well ! After putting on his shorts he shows his thumb to the cameraman to say it's all good now !

It happens often in eurovision that there’s a beutiful lady singer, who at the high point of the song rips part of her clothes off. In this performance there’s an unstylish man putting more clothes on at the high point. So, he’s doing the opposite of normal, because he doesn’t live by the rules.

They're not going to win, but put on an amazing show. The jury won't pass this type of genre, as they prefer classical songs or classic pop. Not a lot of people believed they were gonna win nationals. The Finns didn't vote for their favourites, but they decided to vote for them when they saw the show with their own eyes. People who were on the spot said it was much better than the footage. This is what Eurovision needs ENTERTAINMENT. Simply screw the jury, but entertain the crowd. I can't wait to see them in May.

@@Janaofficialmusic I think what was meant, that UK /gave/ the 12 points. And was the only foreign jury to do so, after the jury points "No Rules" was last, and many juries left it without any points. But when the televote came, it rose to the top, and stayed there to the end.

No it has not gone too far. This is exactly what the world needs in this minute.
On the surface this seems like just another chaotic funny-song on stage on first watch, but the staging actually has so many clever details (easter eggs 😄) and everything is quite well planned. Windows95man is just artist name he has had for a long time and has nothing to do with the song really. And his "brand" is kind of that shirt and jeans (which is why everything is covered in denim). And the song has important message too, "do not care about what others say about you and do what you want to do".
That egg could refer to the birth of the world in Finnish mythology and he is born from it in the beginning. Which is why he doesn't have pants at first and then gets them on later. We had shirtless men for two years in row so why not pantless one too. The ropes that bring down the pants are eagle-shaped. Also the dancers/the one audience person are intentionally blocking the view to his legs untill he gets the pants, and that really requires precise camera work. And the "no rules" does not really refer to being pantless, but instead to when he talks to that "director" person and throws away the papers and then starts playing with the pyros when he gets his pants.
For me the song is good and very catchy (and one of the best songs chosen for Eurovision so far this year), but its one of those songs that some people are just going to hate 🤣. I voted for Sara Siipola -Paskana, but she did not sing very well live so i can see why this won instead of it. This is not really Käärijä copy, its more of a big middle finger to Sweden and juries from Finland 😎.

Hello there and thank you for the video. I voted this because my favorites Sara Siipola and Sini Sabotage both failed with their live performances. Both were off key, Sara was shouting and off tempo. It was clear that both of them were too nervous. Plus the staging and the styling for Sabotage was awful to be honest. My third favorite Jesse Markin had told that he won't be representing Finland so I didn't see a point in voting for him either. He also sang the choruses a bit weakly. Only Mikael Gabriel and Nublu and Windows95Man were confident on stage and they delivered solid vocals. I didn't like Vox Populi at all plus their performance was boring. Basically No Rules! was the only one that both entertained me and also met my quality expectations. They seemed to be ready to compete at Eurovision Song Contest. It's pressured so you can't be nervous on stage and they weren't. When it comes to the issue with panties, it's kinda revealing that nobody cares if there's a woman wearing only panties which make this interesting.

Im gonna tell why, the song was not made to win. BUT there was a clear effort in making it entertaining. The choreography and timing, the nodds to the cliches of 90’s. Plus the song is catchy with sweet message. Paskana was my favorite too, and I was disappointed at first. But, what finns taught me is to not be blinded by favorites. Finns dont think about winning when they vote. They vote someone who gave the best performance and sparked feelings (happiness, sadness, humor). Thats the reason why the Finnish entries in eurovision always leave a mark. Because its geniune, unapologetic and chosen by the people. Thank you for coming to my Tedtalk.

In Finland people see hundreds or even thousands of people naked live throughout our lifetime. How twisted peoples head become if they don't see any other naked bodies than their own? We go naked to sauna and we can see different kind of penises, boobs, or vaginas. In germany there is nude commercials. Why it is a shock?
