- a hail storm just went over my area on the way to a campsite. the weather was calling for thunder and lightning storms and I had a small window of opportunity to get set up on my mountain camp. I decided that I would be staying in the Subaru Outback and deploy a SUV canopy tent and a one Tigress tarp off the back. I wasn't sure how it would hold up!

When I was young and mobile I camped on a cliff and a lightning storm came up. It hit the ground and went through the cliff under my tent and literally threw me in the air inside my tent. Painful experience! I
Wow that is such an experience with the lightning I've never had it hit that close to me but that would have been very memorable and as you said painful. I was watching this and I kept hearing it rain and I had to mute your video before I finally figured out that the rain I am hearing is at my house, not at your camp. It's night so I didn't see it but I sure can hear it! I'm also hearing thunder now. It's kind of odd that what I am watching is exactly what I am experiencing. It's 8:30 p.m. and it's 92 degrees so I welcome the rain because maybe it will cool things down a bit.

So awesome I really appreciate that and there is a whole story behind the Hat I was watching my daughter's dogs a year ago one of them's name is bear and bear chewed it so now I tell people when they ask that it was from a bear and then I laugh and go my daughter's dog named bear. So I did a video on the Subaru it's in the travel Vlog when I was out in Arizona staying overnight but I slept seven and a half weeks in the Subaru traveling across the United States in the playlist I believe it's off-grid camping number 12 in the playlist or episode 12 video number 22 in that playlist. Yes definitely getting more sleep than when I was on the road. I am enjoying the camping even though I did it every night on the road it's just a little different knowing I don't have to go somewhere first thing in the morning

Sometimes i talk like i know i shouldnt,i wouldnt evr hurt myself ir nobody,i just have moodswings up n down,so i smoke legal weed.Evn if i believe its wrong.I need Jesus..thankyou fir prayin sir.

There are two kinds there are fishing magnets. Yeah the ones I had aren't on Amazon any longer but look in the miscellaneous section I just put a single and a double on

Your battery didn’t drain with the hatch open all night? Is there a carabiner in the lock?
And no it didn't drain because I learned a hack out in my court site Arizona trip where you engage the lock and it locks the latch just push it up and then it thinks it's locked in it everything turns off. Then in the morning when you push it down push it all the way down then hit the button to open it back up in that unlatches it and then you can close it. I think I talked about it on this past Sunday's live as well I think I might show it I'm not sure
@@randomadventures2.0 Thank you. Glad to know it actually works, and I might try your version instead of the others I saw. Tip: Anytime you do a video like this, you should warn people. You might get a passer-by who hasn’t heard about the issue, buy the hatch-tent like yours, and then kill their battery and be stranded. I found out the hard way myself.

I tied down the corner of a tarp with a concrete block , big mistake with picked it up like a paper cup and did more damage than if had let it blow away anchored with tiny stake
Yeah that sounds like it would have been a big mistake I can't believe how much a tarp can lift when the wind is blowing. But I guess that's why sailboats use them called sales it pulls the boats right along. Hopefully you didn't have too much damage brother
Finally ordered the green elephant poles ,I’ve got a couple of sets of cheaper they work but the locks are temperamental , elephant poles lock better
Yes those green elephant poles are amazing how they twist to lock in place and I've never had an issue with them at all I mean I've used them to fly that American flag and I've used it on tarp setups multiple times now and never one issue it's a great product. Did you notice I used the burner you sent me that thing is a flamethrower I love it
