Ironically I attempted both Hunter's Path and Dehya's claymore but both times ended up with the other weapon on the banner. I aint gonna lie, Im especially pissed off with Beacon of the Red Sea because it's a pretty good weapon and would have been nice for my Eula.
@@chaoticdarkhearts omg man sorry to hear. Wish you could have had both. I did the same for the Beacon and got lucky and it's beautiful for thy Eula. Hopefully it comes back since it's the best Eula weapon by far. Nvm the best claymore for DPS type situation/ stats stick.
One caveat here--most of the claymores are being compared against Serpent Spine R5, which is very strong but not easily accessible to all players, since maxing out one BP weapon costs $50 and 7.5 months. Fully F2P players should probably move all the 5* claymores up one tier. Otherwise I think this is pretty accurate.
I agree. I have several 5 star weapons but I find Elegy to be my most valuable weapon. At least I value it a little bit more than Mistsplitter and Staff of Homa. One of the reasons is that it is easy to fit into a team and has supportive utility so it is great on a lot of characters.
@@AzureDrag0n1Yeah, elegy should definitely be at least above SoSS, and jade cutter has no right being that high with mistsplitter existing. Crit rate weapons in general shouldn't be that high cuz it's hard to build around a character that uses crit rate weapon and MH set.
@@rh_nt But why would you pull for a weapon that won't work as well as the alternative in half the scenarios when you can pull for crit damage weapon that will always work as intended? It isn't only MH, it is also BS, and any other set that will give you crit rate in the future. We can also get characters that give crit rate. But crit damage will never not be good. I'm generally running away from crit rate weapons like a plague for this exact reason. Rather spend my primos on crit damage ones.
Elegy is good in practically any team bow support. Even for someone like fish whose personal damage tanks because of it, the buffs makes up for it in total team damage. It's like giving your bow support both noblesse/tenacity and instructor 4set at once, that can never go wrong.
I think elegy could be higher yelan fischl faruzan(even if its just for er) amber collei venti tighnari (subdps) they all can use it and their most of teams include these characters really enjoy em
For dendro teams it is a very very good option (although it depends, if u play double electro aggravate with fischl, elegy is not a dmg gain on her teams ) Giving elegy to faruzan is not better than giving her fav on her wanderer/xiao teams It's good for hu tao vape teams where her dmg contribution is rly high, but if you play double hydro teams then giving yelan Aqua is sustainable and amazing for the dmg
Elegy is also the only weapon to ever be included as a teammate on a META team (because it wasn't Amber the Hu Tao teams were interested in). But yeah, either you're running fav or Elegy, when you want energy recharge for a bow user. But I do think it is where it belongs. It is a great versatile pull, and not a god tier one.
@@Axterix13 I would argue it belongs in god tier more than aqua does, and especially jade cutter. There are so many good generalist bows at this point for damage dealers that aqua isn't even that valuable if you have other 5* bows. I don't even use my aqua on yelan, cuz elegy just fits better in so many teams, and it alleviates her energy issues.

Personally think that Homa and Elegy should be higher. Homa because its just as generalist, or arguably more, than Scarlet Sands. And Elegy because its great on so many burst reliant bow characters, and while it may not increase the equipped character's personal dmg as much as Aqua, it's passive increases team dmg which is always appreciated.
@@Hakai11X "opinion rejected" cute but dumb. Crt value isn't everything buddy. Scarlet sands is great but it's not always better than Homa. If your equipping character has zero or very little EM, the passive is fucking useless and the low base attack only exacerbates it. Homa's passive is usually more generalist bc it's HP related. Homa also has higher base attack which is always appreciated for attack scaling characters. Don't get me wrong, SoSS is really good if you have decent EM on the equipped character, like Xiangling for example, but if not, ultimately, they're both crt stat sticks. Only difference is Homa' passive isn't completely useless. You reek of recency bias or maybe you just sound uppity.

It would be great if you updated this tier list every time a new 5* character comes out adding their signature. It could be done in a brief segment of the video where you talk about the new character, or just a short video where you talk about the weapon itself. Yae Miko has to be the most polarising character in Genshin. Despite being the best dps option for both yae and nahida, her weapon still gets crapped on.
i don't understand what's the point of making a weapon that is unobtainable after 3 weeks of it's release ... if u are moving the character u made for to the standard banner either u should move the weapon too or just put it in the limited weapon banner cycle ... it's just dumb...
For The Catch vs Engulfing lightning argument. While I agree mathematically it may not seem like much of a damage increase, the factor that makes it significantly better, is that it allows you to build more Energy Recharge without losing attack%
I've been doing a lot of Raiden comparisons lately and that's something I see a lot with her weapons. Her build arguably has more moving parts than any other character, and while Catch isn't much below EL given identical artifact sets, EL opens up some different build options that can make it more valuable. Plus the drip is real
@@maevethefox5912Raiden scaling on so many stats makes it so hard to pinpoint those perfect numbers. She wants atk, crit and dmg bonus to do damage but she converts er to lightning dmg, her bis set converts er to burst dmg and her signature converts er to atk. With the way her kit sounds, you’d think you should just build crit and er but due to diminishing returns and the buffs capping, you still want atk and dmg bonus outside the er conversion. Not having engulfing makes it even harder to decide on her build too. You have 5 star crit weapons and the catch to decide between and then an er sands or atk sands depending on which weapon you chose and how much er you already have. Then you have to decide between an atk goblet and lightning goblet but that’s even harder to decide on. Well at least you know you want crit.
I still think Mistsplitter is at least on par with the Jade Cutter. The passive isn't that diffcult to activate. Moreso, considering that on-field sword DPSs can often utilize it.
How can be Elegy in the third line? Its the best support weapon in the game, BiS for many characters. Huge boost for many teams. Its definetly a "God Roll" like for yelan in Hu Tao team, or Sara in Raiden hyper, or yelan in any hyperbloom team
Jade cutter on ayato gets even more steonger with cons to where at c3 jade cutter is only 0.5% less damage than his Signature. Altho in reaction based trams like vape, ayato prefers Alhaithams Signiutre, as long as he's got some decent em buffs (Subs, sucrose, c2 kazuha, instructor, Paddle)
I’d move up Skyward and Aquila to solid Signature for the memes and move up Elugy since I think if you have it you’ll always have use for it and it will make a larger impact than other supportive options (other than Key) with how valuable the stats are. Overall I generally agree though.
@@Personpersonpersonperson It might as well be for Bennet, both Skyward and Aqulia are his best in slots. The better built he is the better Aquilla is than Skyward. Mistsplitter is technically better than Aquila on him, but I wouldn't pull Mistsplitter just to put it on Bennet.

@@HerMajestyTsaritsaIsDope Bennet won't prock the passive and in many teams you won't build any crit on him since you want to stack er more and sometimes he'll be on instructor and you'll need every er sub you can get. It's indeed technically better than Aquila since the substat does something but often enough the crit damage substat won't do anything. If you want to play dps bennet you do you though, wouldn't pull Mistsplitter just for him anyway.
@@twigz3214 I'm avare of that, but as you called Aquila as his BIS, compared to it's phyisical dmg second stats, mistsplitter's CD is always better and not only that but it's sub stats are also better option in that regard.. However, if youre ok with losing little ATK, then Skyward Blade is his best option followed by Freedom Sworn, which is good for Buff-Stacking/Support like in vape teams.
In the comparison of Jade sword vs Mistplitter I think the extra CR, low base atk and extra damage on based HP is not comparable in most cases to having plain 12% Elemental dmg bonus, higher CD and a passive that you can at least get 1/2 stacks in most character. Maybe the exceptions would be on characters that scale on HP (Furtina), EM (Alhaitham) or characters with split scaling where the high critrate may be better. In any case I would put both in the same tier, probably in god rolls.
Mist being a big deal only applys to Ayaka. otherwise for alot of character it actually lose to 2 stack mist and has a significant larger gap unless you got ways to maintain 3 stack forever. I do agree it the best weapon if your goal is damage per screenshot. For Keqing and as an owner of both PJC and Mist. I don't feel any difference between both weapon. thou Mist is better for crit fishing for speedrunning than PJC. PJC is overall actually better for aggravate keqing because keqing only aggravates on 1/3 hit. and if that hit that aggravates fails to crit. you are losing alot. Again mist still wins if you resetting for crit with low crate. Also do not underestimate the atk you get from PJC passive. So far Keqing and Jean actually makes use of PJC passive the best due to their higher base hp.
Always great to see some weapon comparisons rather than the usual character comparisons that then include which weapons to put on them. Like, okay, but if I end up with a particular weapon, what else can I do with it? And on the flipside, it takes a tremendous incentive to get me to pull on the weapon banner.
Skyward Harp is BiS for Sara so no, saying "it has no clear character where it's the best options" is outright wrong. Sara is a niche character only shining in one team but that single team is ridiculously strong and Skyward Harp makes noticeable difference there. However I agree it belongs in versatile pull tier. I don't understand why Hunter's Path and Great Magic are so high while Elegy is so low. Neither Lyney nor Tighnari are important characters and other bow characters have plenty of other weapons to choose from, slightly better ones. Meanwhile Elegy is crucial for many comps and useful on more units, not just damage dealers.
Note than Veredict being "barely better" than Serpent Spine on Navia happens only on teams that run Bennet due to him buffing your attack so much, on any other team Veredict is a solid 10%+ dmg increase over Serpent.
As someone who basically has every 5* weapon at R5, I'd only put 3 weapons in S tier - SoSS (the EM to ATK conversion is just broken when you have EM buffers on the team like an R5 Elegy holder; if you can manage to reach 1k EM the passive can give you almost 3k ATK), Key of Khaj-Nisut (it can give the entire team as much as 350+ EM, which is just insane in a team with multiple EM scaling characters), and Elegy (+200 EM and 40% ATK for the entire team which is ridiculous as there are basically no other support bows besides Fav Warbow. Freedom Sworn at least have a lot of other swords as competition). Weapons that can significantly increase the team DPS ceiling are the best. Weapons like Aqua and Jade Cutter are just mid in comparison as they just work for a lot of characters and they don't break the DPS ceiling in any way.
Cashflow's problem is that it gives too much Crit Rate. You already run your DPS units on Marechausse with Furina, right? So Cashflow adding more Crit Rate is just bad
Exactly. Its an awful weapon on rizzly and etc. My CRIT DMG weapon and CRIT DMG helmet Rizzly has 90% crit in fights. (And 275% crit DMG heh). Crit chance weapon is shit.

I think that your ranking is too much based on their damage increased for the character's weapon, but to me it's more interesting to first rank the utility, and then take in count the strenght, for example, Key of Khaj Nisut is legit OMEGA niche and it's in god tier...
BP weapons shouldn't be treated as 4 stars, they are generally higher power level than real 4 star weapons and they are paywalled behind BP so they are more difficult (=impossible) to get than 5 star weapons if you don't spend money. Comparing the value of a 5 star weapon to something you can literally never get is meaningless and hides the real value of that 5 star.
considering its a list about if its worth to pull or not and not an actual power tier list i would instantly put every standard non limited on bruh tier, even skyward harp. dont pull for non limited weapons people, especially considering that even skyward harp, which is considered the best standard, is usable on a lot of characters but not optimal on anyone. if you want a versatile weapon that is optimal on someone (even close to optimal on multiple) then go for aqua. maybe the single one you should consider is jade spear if you are a xiao main, but id still consider homa to be the superior pick, its slightly worse on xiao sure, but its much better on everyone else, also limited.
Is Skyward Harp best in slot for Kujo Sara? I know she's a niche character at best, but the high base attack is huge for her buffs and the Crit buffs help take her personal damage from negligible to fairly significant, especially at c6. I know she and Fischl fight really hard over it all the time.
Elegy is best in slot for Kujo actually. You can use Kujo is aggravate and hypercarry teams and you will benefit from both the EM and attack bonus. For example Kazuha will trigger overloads and swirls in a hyper carry comp while Raiden will benefit from the 20% attack boost. Kujo is also very hungry for energy even when paired with Raiden. I also use Elegy on my c6 Kujo Sara, c2 Raiden, c0 Jean, c1 Furina team. I have also used it in aggravate teams when using a hypercarry electro dps.
Jade cutter was so good on beta ayato they had to nerf his old a4 and give him the useless one he has now, would have been halerious if ayato's BiS on release was a standard weapon instead of his Signature
I'm glad you made this because I'm really lacking in 5* weapons and I didn't know which ones to pull for (my only two 5* weapons are Engulfing Lightning and Skyward Atlas).
Hard disagree on a lot of these from a meta perspective, the biggest offender being Elegy which is inarguably top tier. Also, mistplitter under jade cutter doesn't make a lot of sense either. Its bis on ayaka and bennett and top tier on most sword chars. Jade cutter is just pretty good on many but bis on none.
@TheGenshinScientist best in slot on bennett. It gives him the highest atk bracket for swords for his buff, and also increases his own damage output compared to f2p options like af which do nothing for him. Catch my Benny vaping 50k+ E's.
@aritra2116 would you rather have a Bennet that does no damage, or a bennet that does a respectable amount of damage? People gotta stop thinking that only their on fielder does damage. Bennet can and does hit like a truck if you build him well, while still healing and buffing. And no matter if you think that's resin inefficient, Mistsplitter is his bis.

WHAAAT?? Mist only good on Ayaka, for real? Why the heck did you even highlight Keqing for the jade cutter while mist is clearly better on her? If we look at DPS sword users Jade is not even BIS on Ayato and Alheitham while Mist is BIS on Ayaka and Keqing. Also if you got Jade or mist but you don't plan to use it on a 5* they most likely will end up being thrown on XQ and bennet as both their BIS weapons so i really fail to understand in what sense is mist only good on Ayaka. Also any future character that will be able to fulfill all of Mistsplitters conditions will be straight out better than Jade and such characters will most likely always be DPS characters while Jade will pull ahead on characters that just benefit of the high crit and maybe HP (most likely sups or sup dpses like Furina)
What kind of calcs were you using for Raiden? Raiden mains put it 17% over Catch in unbuffed scenario, 11% above Catch in buffed scenario. Keqing mains state it's 15% stronger than Catch. General consensus has always been it's 10-20% better than alternatives which is one of better performances for signature weapon. You however are somehow claiming it's only 7%? Trying to imply The Catch has any sort of impact on Engulfing's pulling value is also incredibly wrong because there's only one Catch and it's better to use it on Xiangling than Raiden if you have to choose. Scarlet Sands IS NOT better than Engulfing. It CAN be better DEPENDING on team. In some teams like Overvape + Sucrose, Engulfing is 15% stronger than Scarlet Sands on Xiangling. Same for Rosaria. Engulfing is also an amazing weapon to use on Zhongli (by the way Vortex doesn't deserve being put in average 4*, it's worse than a bunch of 4 stars).

4:10 For Fischl this is correct, but for Ganyu you're wrong. In all cases, FGM is better on Ganyu than Aqua Simulacra. In melt teams with a second cryo, it's even better than Hunter's Path in single target.

Before seeing this list I was saving up for Furina's weapon on her re-run in a few months but what you said made sense, it's not a god tier weapon and I have festering desire on her so she is fine. Anyway, good video!
Are you ever not going to play Furina though? The versatility factor doesn't really even come into play if you never take the weapon off the designed character.
Same situation, got C6 Furina but didn't want to risk getting digital cancer with Baizhu's donut so started refining wolf-fang instead, R3 currently. I may still pull her sig on rerun, but also not under the illusion that it will be a significant upgrade, wolf-fang R5 is basically festering desire with crit in place of ER, & Furina's sig doesn't even match the E skill dmg given by these 4* options.
His (questionable) calcs were for c0. The higher the constellations, the better Furina's signature is compared to alternatives. If you plan to go for c2 or higher, consider the signature as well.
Wolf's Gravestone is a pretty good claymore, mainly because there arent very many 5* Claymores to begin with. Yeah SS at R5 is amazing (if you have a shield) but not everyone is gonna R5 a BP weapon, not to mention some of us dislike how it looks (Seriously why does it look like an inflatable toy?)
only criticism i have is FAR undervaluing elegy which i think is easily the best weapon in the game, especially far better than aqua and jade cutter, but aside yeah alright

Pulse is definitely a bit better than solid, 20% atk, high base damage and great crit value makes it at least as versatile as Skyward Harp yet it's still a whole tier below. Also I'm not sure why you didn't at least mention how the presence of Furina in teams make Marechausse the best option for their on-fielder, making PJC and SoSS's crit rate quite often excessive.
Some of these surprised me. I always thought Jade Cutter and Mistsplitter were on par with maybe even Mistsplitter edging it out. I guess with the increase of HP% scalers now it's passive isn't as underwhelming any more, and with Furina's buffs elemental DMG% is not as hard to come by. I'm thinking about trying for Mistsplitter coming up but now you made me doubt myself lol. Is it top tier for anyone but Ayaka and Keqing? I would prob rather have Jade Cutter but the damn thing just never runs lol. I was expecting the Key, and the damn thing has dodged me twice. Scarlet above Homa was also a surprise. Sad, that is one of the ugliest weapons in the game. Thankfully I already have more spears than I know what to do with, so I wasn't tempted by this banner. Verdict is on par with R5 Serpent? Only on Benny teams right? Aquila is definitely not even high end 4* imo. Skyward is just straight up better because it allows you to build damage on Benny, and if you only care about high base ATK there's R1 Alley Flash which is what I use lol.
I think more characters have jade cutter as their 2nd best option after their signatures over misplitter which is why he ranks it higher. I mean Ayaka/Keqing are the best use cases of misplitter, but even then, his chart showed that misplitter was only 1% better than jade cutter, basically irevelant.
@@ugotmybeefWith ayaka mistsplitter is like 15% better. His charts also don't include the fact that you will run a lot of characters with furina now, so with MH + JC you will overcap on crit rate, which makes crit rate rolls a dead stat.
Alhaitham can use Mistsplitter if you don't have Foliar or Jade Cutter. It's tied with Haran as his 3rd best weapon. He can stack/maintain the passive just as easily as Ayaka and Keqing. I wasn't able to get Foliar or Jade and I don't have Ayato, so my Alhaitham uses Mistsplitter.
I think using serpent spine R5 as the measuring stick for claymores is fair. It's probably the best damage oriented 4 star in the game and it costs 50 bucks and 7 months to acquire.
tierlists are 99% personal opinion and 1% actual facts, given that you do a lot of research and by that have a pretty good idea of the actual i'd say this tierlist is 5% actual facts and 95% personal opinion.

Well done. I just randomly watched another video on 5* tier, and it was so much worse than yours. It wasn't bad, but it didn't have all the graphics showing the percentages. I KNOW that you KNOW the actual, numerical, impact these weapons have. Well done and ty.
Xiangling has multiple different teams with wildly varying performance of different weapons. Scarlet Sands are technically the best in most of the teams but they're only marginally (seriously, 1%) better than alternatives like Engulfing, Homa. There are some teams where Engulfing is much better than anything and Kitain can be better than most of 5* in some teams.
Elegy should be the god tier roll. It's an amazing support weapon at any level of investments, fits many team, and is an actual blessing if you happen to have 2 Elegy. I'd argue that Aqua is an overrated weapon. It's amazing on Yelan with a caveat, and it's so much worse on other attack scaling characters if they don't run Bennett or other buffers.
god idk why but sometimes i hate the jadefall splendor. like i wished it was a weapon that supports and buff the team through healing or shielding instead of just buffing the wearer's personal damage.
Good but honestly the "Average 4*" tier is poorly named. I would call it "Good 4*" probably. While they defiantly aren't R5 Serpents Spine, they are better than most 4* pretty consistently (i.e. compared to a random 4* it will be better most of the time). For example, Skyward Atlas is beaten by R5 Widsith and is only competitive to R1 with 2/3 good buffs for sustained damage on Klee, but this is in the context of Widsith being one of the few even viable options in this case--it still beats the majority of 4* weapons because most just don't have useful stats and have a lower base attack. In general, I would say that those weapons are not as good the best 4* options (especially at high refinement), but better than many others just because they have higher damage focused stats which at least in my experience as a newer player (3.7) are hard to get. As such I would classify them as similar to good 4* options in cases where the character they are being used in is focused on damage and is attack scaling.
5:38 yeah imagine using weapon with crit main stats when you get so many crit rate from (ascension)24.2%+(Marechaussee Hunter)+36%+(cryo infused e.skill)20%=70.2%+(cashflow)22.1%=92.3% like what you supposed to roll crit dmg%, atk% and flat atk? in feather you can't roll flat atk, in sand(opti. goblet) you can't roll atk% and head with full atk%? so it's just weird to use cashflow instead of tullah
This was really interesting and a good reference point for someone like me who pulls on the weapon banner occasionally, but still wants to be smart with it (well as smart as you can be when pulling on the weapon banner). Biggest surprise was Elegy and Mistplitter. Feel like I see Mistsplitter often put in the top tier and Elegy also a tier higher than it was. But I don't know much, that's why I'm here
It's just braindead Ayaka simps who can't comprehend not using her. Too bad she requires r1 and Shenhe or constellations to keep up nowadays. Mistsplitter is also amazing on Keqing but you can give her Foliar or Jade Cutter. Elegy however is a god tier weapon for how versatile it is.

It was always ranked so high because of lack of good swords. I've not seen green stick be put on the banners even once for a whole year period. But now we finally have options with Al Haitham and Furina (and it's great).

staff of homa is pretty mediocre unless you have hu tao and i guess Zhongli but he's usually just a shield bot. although i will admit yelans first banner with venti was crazy. thats probably the best 5 star weapon banner we have ever had.@@tavinhoo
I remember being so upset when on the Elegy+Homa banner I went to 3 pities to get Homa. On my way there I got a Skyward Blade and an Elegy. Useless garbage, I thought. 3 years later I use those weapons daily and my Homa is stuck on Hu Tao who I don't even play anymore, same with the Mistsplitter I pulled for Ayaka. Guess support weapons are much more worth it in the end.

Ironically I attempted both Hunter's Path and Dehya's claymore but both times ended up with the other weapon on the banner. I aint gonna lie, Im especially pissed off with Beacon of the Red Sea because it's a pretty good weapon and would have been nice for my Eula.

I did the same for the Beacon and got lucky and it's beautiful for thy Eula. Hopefully it comes back since it's the best Eula weapon by far. Nvm the best claymore for DPS type situation/ stats stick.

One caveat here--most of the claymores are being compared against Serpent Spine R5, which is very strong but not easily accessible to all players, since maxing out one BP weapon costs $50 and 7.5 months. Fully F2P players should probably move all the 5* claymores up one tier. Otherwise I think this is pretty accurate.
Would love to see this for four stars! They are definitely more attainable than signatures

I agree. I have several 5 star weapons but I find Elegy to be my most valuable weapon. At least I value it a little bit more than Mistsplitter and Staff of Homa. One of the reasons is that it is easy to fit into a team and has supportive utility so it is great on a lot of characters.

Crit rate weapons in general shouldn't be that high cuz it's hard to build around a character that uses crit rate weapon and MH set.

It isn't only MH, it is also BS, and any other set that will give you crit rate in the future. We can also get characters that give crit rate. But crit damage will never not be good.
I'm generally running away from crit rate weapons like a plague for this exact reason. Rather spend my primos on crit damage ones.
Elegy is good in practically any team bow support. Even for someone like fish whose personal damage tanks because of it, the buffs makes up for it in total team damage.
It's like giving your bow support both noblesse/tenacity and instructor 4set at once, that can never go wrong.
I think elegy could be higher yelan fischl faruzan(even if its just for er) amber collei venti tighnari (subdps) they all can use it and their most of teams include these characters really enjoy em
For dendro teams it is a very very good option (although it depends, if u play double electro aggravate with fischl, elegy is not a dmg gain on her teams )
Giving elegy to faruzan is not better than giving her fav on her wanderer/xiao teams
It's good for hu tao vape teams where her dmg contribution is rly high, but if you play double hydro teams then giving yelan Aqua is sustainable and amazing for the dmg
Elegy is also the only weapon to ever be included as a teammate on a META team (because it wasn't Amber the Hu Tao teams were interested in). But yeah, either you're running fav or Elegy, when you want energy recharge for a bow user. But I do think it is where it belongs. It is a great versatile pull, and not a god tier one.

There are so many good generalist bows at this point for damage dealers that aqua isn't even that valuable if you have other 5* bows. I don't even use my aqua on yelan, cuz elegy just fits better in so many teams, and it alleviates her energy issues.

Personally think that Homa and Elegy should be higher. Homa because its just as generalist, or arguably more, than Scarlet Sands. And Elegy because its great on so many burst reliant bow characters, and while it may not increase the equipped character's personal dmg as much as Aqua, it's passive increases team dmg which is always appreciated.

Crt value isn't everything buddy. Scarlet sands is great but it's not always better than Homa. If your equipping character has zero or very little EM, the passive is fucking useless and the low base attack only exacerbates it. Homa's passive is usually more generalist bc it's HP related. Homa also has higher base attack which is always appreciated for attack scaling characters.
Don't get me wrong, SoSS is really good if you have decent EM on the equipped character, like Xiangling for example, but if not, ultimately, they're both crt stat sticks. Only difference is Homa' passive isn't completely useless. You reek of recency bias or maybe you just sound uppity.

For The Catch vs Engulfing lightning argument. While I agree mathematically it may not seem like much of a damage increase, the factor that makes it significantly better, is that it allows you to build more Energy Recharge without losing attack%
I've been doing a lot of Raiden comparisons lately and that's something I see a lot with her weapons.
Her build arguably has more moving parts than any other character, and while Catch isn't much below EL given identical artifact sets, EL opens up some different build options that can make it more valuable.

@@maevethefox5912Raiden scaling on so many stats makes it so hard to pinpoint those perfect numbers. She wants atk, crit and dmg bonus to do damage but she converts er to lightning dmg, her bis set converts er to burst dmg and her signature converts er to atk. With the way her kit sounds, you’d think you should just build crit and er but due to diminishing returns and the buffs capping, you still want atk and dmg bonus outside the er conversion. Not having engulfing makes it even harder to decide on her build too. You have 5 star crit weapons and the catch to decide between and then an er sands or atk sands depending on which weapon you chose and how much er you already have. Then you have to decide between an atk goblet and lightning goblet but that’s even harder to decide on. Well at least you know you want crit.
I still think Mistsplitter is at least on par with the Jade Cutter. The passive isn't that diffcult to activate. Moreso, considering that on-field sword DPSs can often utilize it.

Jade cutter on ayato gets even more steonger with cons to where at c3 jade cutter is only 0.5% less damage than his Signature. Altho in reaction based trams like vape, ayato prefers Alhaithams Signiutre, as long as he's got some decent em buffs (Subs, sucrose, c2 kazuha, instructor, Paddle)

I’d move up Skyward and Aquila to solid Signature for the memes and move up Elugy since I think if you have it you’ll always have use for it and it will make a larger impact than other supportive options (other than Key) with how valuable the stats are. Overall I generally agree though.

It's indeed technically better than Aquila since the substat does something but often enough the crit damage substat won't do anything. If you want to play dps bennet you do you though, wouldn't pull Mistsplitter just for him anyway.

However, if youre ok with losing little ATK, then Skyward Blade is his best option followed by Freedom Sworn, which is good for Buff-Stacking/Support like in vape teams.
In the comparison of Jade sword vs Mistplitter I think the extra CR, low base atk and extra damage on based HP is not comparable in most cases to having plain 12% Elemental dmg bonus, higher CD and a passive that you can at least get 1/2 stacks in most character. Maybe the exceptions would be on characters that scale on HP (Furtina), EM (Alhaitham) or characters with split scaling where the high critrate may be better.
In any case I would put both in the same tier, probably in god rolls.
Mist being a big deal only applys to Ayaka.
otherwise for alot of character it actually lose to 2 stack mist and has a significant larger gap unless you got ways to maintain 3 stack forever. I do agree it the best weapon if your goal is damage per screenshot.
For Keqing and as an owner of both PJC and Mist. I don't feel any difference between both weapon. thou Mist is better for crit fishing for speedrunning than PJC. PJC is overall actually better for aggravate keqing because keqing only aggravates on 1/3 hit. and if that hit that aggravates fails to crit. you are losing alot. Again mist still wins if you resetting for crit with low crate.
Also do not underestimate the atk you get from PJC passive. So far Keqing and Jean actually makes use of PJC passive the best due to their higher base hp.
Elegy and Freedom Sworn on the same tier when one has actual useful buffs and the other one is Freedom Sworn😬
Freedom Sworn loses to Xiphos while Elegy has no competition. Very weird to put them in same tier.
Always great to see some weapon comparisons rather than the usual character comparisons that then include which weapons to put on them. Like, okay, but if I end up with a particular weapon, what else can I do with it? And on the flipside, it takes a tremendous incentive to get me to pull on the weapon banner.
Skyward Harp is BiS for Sara so no, saying "it has no clear character where it's the best options" is outright wrong. Sara is a niche character only shining in one team but that single team is ridiculously strong and Skyward Harp makes noticeable difference there. However I agree it belongs in versatile pull tier.
I don't understand why Hunter's Path and Great Magic are so high while Elegy is so low. Neither Lyney nor Tighnari are important characters and other bow characters have plenty of other weapons to choose from, slightly better ones. Meanwhile Elegy is crucial for many comps and useful on more units, not just damage dealers.
Note than Veredict being "barely better" than Serpent Spine on Navia happens only on teams that run Bennet due to him buffing your attack so much, on any other team Veredict is a solid 10%+ dmg increase over Serpent.
I don't think Verdict being compared to serpent spine r5. You only ever get SS r5 by paying, and that is paying 5 times.
As someone who basically has every 5* weapon at R5, I'd only put 3 weapons in S tier - SoSS (the EM to ATK conversion is just broken when you have EM buffers on the team like an R5 Elegy holder; if you can manage to reach 1k EM the passive can give you almost 3k ATK), Key of Khaj-Nisut (it can give the entire team as much as 350+ EM, which is just insane in a team with multiple EM scaling characters), and Elegy (+200 EM and 40% ATK for the entire team which is ridiculous as there are basically no other support bows besides Fav Warbow. Freedom Sworn at least have a lot of other swords as competition).
Weapons that can significantly increase the team DPS ceiling are the best. Weapons like Aqua and Jade Cutter are just mid in comparison as they just work for a lot of characters and they don't break the DPS ceiling in any way.
Cashflow's problem is that it gives too much Crit Rate. You already run your DPS units on Marechausse with Furina, right? So Cashflow adding more Crit Rate is just bad
Exactly. Its an awful weapon on rizzly and etc. My CRIT DMG weapon and CRIT DMG helmet Rizzly has 90% crit in fights. (And 275% crit DMG heh). Crit chance weapon is shit.

I think that your ranking is too much based on their damage increased for the character's weapon, but to me it's more interesting to first rank the utility, and then take in count the strenght, for example, Key of Khaj Nisut is legit OMEGA niche and it's in god tier...

BP weapons shouldn't be treated as 4 stars, they are generally higher power level than real 4 star weapons and they are paywalled behind BP so they are more difficult (=impossible) to get than 5 star weapons if you don't spend money. Comparing the value of a 5 star weapon to something you can literally never get is meaningless and hides the real value of that 5 star.
considering its a list about if its worth to pull or not and not an actual power tier list i would instantly put every standard non limited on bruh tier, even skyward harp. dont pull for non limited weapons people, especially considering that even skyward harp, which is considered the best standard, is usable on a lot of characters but not optimal on anyone. if you want a versatile weapon that is optimal on someone (even close to optimal on multiple) then go for aqua. maybe the single one you should consider is jade spear if you are a xiao main, but id still consider homa to be the superior pick, its slightly worse on xiao sure, but its much better on everyone else, also limited.
I’d argue that Baizhu’s signature weapon belongs in Average 4* because it’s a decently good weapon on Neuvillette and onfield Kokomi
Is Skyward Harp best in slot for Kujo Sara?
I know she's a niche character at best, but the high base attack is huge for her buffs and the Crit buffs help take her personal damage from negligible to fairly significant, especially at c6.
I know she and Fischl fight really hard over it all the time.
Elegy is best in slot for Kujo actually. You can use Kujo is aggravate and hypercarry teams and you will benefit from both the EM and attack bonus. For example Kazuha will trigger overloads and swirls in a hyper carry comp while Raiden will benefit from the 20% attack boost. Kujo is also very hungry for energy even when paired with Raiden. I also use Elegy on my c6 Kujo Sara, c2 Raiden, c0 Jean, c1 Furina team. I have also used it in aggravate teams when using a hypercarry electro dps.
now for the versatile ones do a tier list based on the number of characters that would actually use them.
Jade cutter was so good on beta ayato they had to nerf his old a4 and give him the useless one he has now, would have been halerious if ayato's BiS on release was a standard weapon instead of his Signature
Jade Cutter actually isn't a standard weapon. Its the limited weapon ran with Albedo.
I'm glad you made this because I'm really lacking in 5* weapons and I didn't know which ones to pull for (my only two 5* weapons are Engulfing Lightning and Skyward Atlas).
Hard disagree on a lot of these from a meta perspective, the biggest offender being Elegy which is inarguably top tier. Also, mistplitter under jade cutter doesn't make a lot of sense either. Its bis on ayaka and bennett and top tier on most sword chars. Jade cutter is just pretty good on many but bis on none.

If we look at DPS sword users Jade is not even BIS on Ayato and Alheitham while Mist is BIS on Ayaka and Keqing. Also if you got Jade or mist but you don't plan to use it on a 5* they most likely will end up being thrown on XQ and bennet as both their BIS weapons so i really fail to understand in what sense is mist only good on Ayaka. Also any future character that will be able to fulfill all of Mistsplitters conditions will be straight out better than Jade and such characters will most likely always be DPS characters while Jade will pull ahead on characters that just benefit of the high crit and maybe HP (most likely sups or sup dpses like Furina)

What kind of calcs were you using for Raiden? Raiden mains put it 17% over Catch in unbuffed scenario, 11% above Catch in buffed scenario. Keqing mains state it's 15% stronger than Catch. General consensus has always been it's 10-20% better than alternatives which is one of better performances for signature weapon. You however are somehow claiming it's only 7%?
Trying to imply The Catch has any sort of impact on Engulfing's pulling value is also incredibly wrong because there's only one Catch and it's better to use it on Xiangling than Raiden if you have to choose.
Scarlet Sands IS NOT better than Engulfing. It CAN be better DEPENDING on team. In some teams like Overvape + Sucrose, Engulfing is 15% stronger than Scarlet Sands on Xiangling. Same for Rosaria. Engulfing is also an amazing weapon to use on Zhongli (by the way Vortex doesn't deserve being put in average 4*, it's worse than a bunch of 4 stars).

4:10 For Fischl this is correct, but for Ganyu you're wrong. In all cases, FGM is better on Ganyu than Aqua Simulacra. In melt teams with a second cryo, it's even better than Hunter's Path in single target.

Same situation, got C6 Furina but didn't want to risk getting digital cancer with Baizhu's donut so started refining wolf-fang instead, R3 currently. I may still pull her sig on rerun, but also not under the illusion that it will be a significant upgrade, wolf-fang R5 is basically festering desire with crit in place of ER, & Furina's sig doesn't even match the E skill dmg given by these 4* options.
His (questionable) calcs were for c0. The higher the constellations, the better Furina's signature is compared to alternatives. If you plan to go for c2 or higher, consider the signature as well.
Wolf's Gravestone is a pretty good claymore, mainly because there arent very many 5* Claymores to begin with.
Yeah SS at R5 is amazing (if you have a shield) but not everyone is gonna R5 a BP weapon, not to mention some of us dislike how it looks

Pulse is definitely a bit better than solid, 20% atk, high base damage and great crit value makes it at least as versatile as Skyward Harp yet it's still a whole tier below.
Also I'm not sure why you didn't at least mention how the presence of Furina in teams make Marechausse the best option for their on-fielder, making PJC and SoSS's crit rate quite often excessive.
Some of these surprised me. I always thought Jade Cutter and Mistsplitter were on par with maybe even Mistsplitter edging it out. I guess with the increase of HP% scalers now it's passive isn't as underwhelming any more, and with Furina's buffs elemental DMG% is not as hard to come by. I was expecting the Key, and the damn thing has dodged me twice. Scarlet above Homa was also a surprise. Sad, that is one of the ugliest weapons in the game. Thankfully I already have more spears than I know what to do with, so I wasn't tempted by this banner.
Verdict is on par with R5 Serpent? Only on Benny teams right? Aquila is definitely not even high end 4* imo. Skyward is just straight up better because it allows you to build damage on Benny, and if you only care about high base ATK there's R1 Alley Flash which is what I use lol.
I think more characters have jade cutter as their 2nd best option after their signatures over misplitter which is why he ranks it higher. I mean Ayaka/Keqing are the best use cases of misplitter, but even then, his chart showed that misplitter was only 1% better than jade cutter, basically irevelant.

Alhaitham can use Mistsplitter if you don't have Foliar or Jade Cutter. It's tied with Haran as his 3rd best weapon. He can stack/maintain the passive just as easily as Ayaka and Keqing. I wasn't able to get Foliar or Jade and I don't have Ayato, so my Alhaitham uses Mistsplitter.
I think using serpent spine R5 as the measuring stick for claymores is fair. It's probably the best damage oriented 4 star in the game and it costs 50 bucks and 7 months to acquire.
tierlists are 99% personal opinion and 1% actual facts, given that you do a lot of research and by that have a pretty good idea of the actual i'd say this tierlist is 5% actual facts and 95% personal opinion.

polearms need their own separate tier list with only two options: xiangling or bust
Xiangling has multiple different teams with wildly varying performance of different weapons. Scarlet Sands are technically the best in most of the teams but they're only marginally (seriously, 1%) better than alternatives like Engulfing, Homa. There are some teams where Engulfing is much better than anything and Kitain can be better than most of 5* in some teams.

Elegy should be the god tier roll. It's an amazing support weapon at any level of investments, fits many team, and is an actual blessing if you happen to have 2 Elegy. I'd argue that Aqua is an overrated weapon. It's amazing on Yelan with a caveat, and it's so much worse on other attack scaling characters if they don't run Bennett or other buffers.
god idk why but sometimes i hate the jadefall splendor. like i wished it was a weapon that supports and buff the team through healing or shielding instead of just buffing the wearer's personal damage.

Good but honestly the "Average 4*" tier is poorly named. I would call it "Good 4*" probably. While they defiantly aren't R5 Serpents Spine, they are better than most 4* pretty consistently (i.e. compared to a random 4* it will be better most of the time). For example, Skyward Atlas is beaten by R5 Widsith and is only competitive to R1 with 2/3 good buffs for sustained damage on Klee, but this is in the context of Widsith being one of the few even viable options in this case--it still beats the majority of 4* weapons because most just don't have useful stats and have a lower base attack.
In general, I would say that those weapons are not as good the best 4* options (especially at high refinement), but better than many others just because they have higher damage focused stats which at least in my experience as a newer player (3.7) are hard to get. As such I would classify them as similar to good 4* options in cases where the character they are being used in is focused on damage and is attack scaling.

This was really interesting and a good reference point for someone like me who pulls on the weapon banner occasionally, but still wants to be smart with it (well as smart as you can be when pulling on the weapon banner). Biggest surprise was Elegy and Mistplitter. Feel like I see Mistsplitter often put in the top tier and Elegy also a tier higher than it was. But I don't know much, that's why I'm here
It's just braindead Ayaka simps who can't comprehend not using her. Too bad she requires r1 and Shenhe or constellations to keep up nowadays. Mistsplitter is also amazing on Keqing but you can give her Foliar or Jade Cutter.
Elegy however is a god tier weapon for how versatile it is.

I pulled Mistsplitter and never regretted ever since.
It was always ranked so high because of lack of good swords. I've not seen green stick be put on the banners even once for a whole year period. But now we finally have options with Al Haitham and Furina (and it's great).

keep in mind mihoyo also knows what the good weapons are and pairs them with niche garbage weapons. like mistsplitter has now been paired with navias axe and last time it was calamity queller.

staff of homa is pretty mediocre unless you have hu tao and i guess Zhongli but he's usually just a shield bot. although i will admit yelans first banner with venti was crazy. thats probably the best 5 star weapon banner we have ever had.@@tavinhoo

I remember being so upset when on the Elegy+Homa banner I went to 3 pities to get Homa. On my way there I got a Skyward Blade and an Elegy. Useless garbage, I thought. 3 years later I use those weapons daily and my Homa is stuck on Hu Tao who I don't even play anymore, same with the Mistsplitter I pulled for Ayaka.
Guess support weapons are much more worth it in the end.

You are undervaluing support weapons elegy and freedom deserves to be +1 tier
