In Cubase since 2018, I still have Rapture Pro (a discontinued vst synth from Cakewalk) with 6 layers and multisampled import, from my previous Cakewalk legacy. I set up my mind I need a replacement, most of my own sounds have up to 4 layers, with different synth engines including sample import. At around 100 bucks (under offers) I found VPS Avenger (various synth engines, few wavs import) and Tracktion F'em (multi-sampled sf2 import, but FM engine only). At more than double bucks I see UVI Falcon, and just 2 days ago I realized Halion is in the contest, although more pricey. I own NI Kontakt and a lot of sampled material within it, I had always considered Halion as a sampler by Steinberg, a sort of duplicate for me. Indeed I tried to work in Kontakt as a synth to make my sounds, it's a nightmare to program. This video comes at the right time for me, because it clearly shows that Halion is a synth, with sample import, and many synth engines. I will see if they they have some kind of offers for Cubase owners or for special periods, I am not in a hurry. It's the first Halion video that I jump in, I now will look if you have more
How come I wasn't aware of this channel?! I just got Halion 7 two weeks ago (to accompany the Cubase 13 release that was about to happen...) and I see there's a lot of content about it here 😮 Subscribed! 👍
Nice One! I get that I can copy your process with other synths than Halion, but its confusing for me. Perhaps you could do 'how to make a pad in Surge'? Surge is a free synth vst and seems to be very capable, but I really dont know what i am doing😂 Cheers
great vid, dom!!! PLEASE more Halion tutorials und sounddesign tricks!!!
