Sold! Back to Halion after drifting away the last couple of years into 'the search'! Will buy later today. It's a 'no-brainer'. This will save countless hours/days/weeks of time. Will get some quality of life time back instead of spending days scratching my head wondering how to achieve what's now possible. Thank you Steinberg!
Wow, that's amazing, I first got Halion and all the LoFi pianos were an absolute gem and such quality and variety....I updated it today and eh, that sounds absolutely amazing.....
The spectral synth engine is what makes Halion7 stand apart from the rest the other power synths. So with these new features, it's like...all my patches shall now be spectral 😊
'Like' number 666. \m/. I just won a copy last night so thanks for the peek at the features while I wait for my licence to come through. Love the spectral vocal chords! Ligeti vibes.
I bought TGuitar after watching your other video. Its really nice and it came with HALion Free. But cant find documentation or videos on how to store a preset. Sure, I can click the save button but if I add reverb and delay or Amp sim to it, those don't save to the preset that I thought I was saving. Not sure how many "save" functions there are in HALion but its very frustrating. I want to b able to load or recall a guitar with all those setting and be able to quickly recall another but with different reverbs or eq or even delays. I hope it's not because it's a Free HALion version. Anyways, love your videos. You are one talented musician!
Hi Dom, I have a question, I am the owner of cubase pro 13, I updated Halion 7.1, but I can't find spectral synthesis. Is there anything I need to install? or something i'm missing? Could you help me please? Thanks for any advice or info.
HALion 7 is not included in Cubase Pro it is a separate product. But Cubase comes with HALion Sonic 7 and lots of content & instruments to start with. There are also a lot of additional free instruments available here: www.steinberg.net/vst-instruments/free/
@@djjuno106 it is a self contained library. No need to redownload any existing content. But you need to have the latest (free) update of Halion/ Halion Sonic 7.1 plugin.
Nice , but i hope that Steinberg if they improve thier daw and plugins the way its become less CPU consuming 🙏. I went back to studio one because I got bored of cubase cpu hunger and crashes!
150 years later= the secret of Halion 'popularity': still trying to cram new incredible features into an old, extremely poorly designed and unusable UI
It looks like excel because tables are great to organize loads of information ;) plus it has great concepts like jumping between mod source and target, project and parameter sorting and filtering etc. There is always Halion Sonic with macro page instruments, if you need something guided, reduced, and possibly beautiful.
And just to emphasize my last post. Some more modern UI/UX features, many simpler synths still don’t have: - envelope position indicators - envelope waveform overlay - spectral sample view - undockable windows, allowing you to spread sounddesign across all your screens - modulation visiualiser - oscilloscope - drag and drop almost everything (modulation, project tree, samples, presets, import) - loop visualized into waveform - fully zoomable and rotating 3d wavetable - searchable Parameter list - searchable and filterable project tree. - preset/instrument search with tags and filters. Probably more what I can’t remember. It is a steep learning curve, but well worth it.
All I can say is that Halion has really become something awesome over the years.

How to make anything sound great? Let Dom demo it!! Really enjoyed this. Update is now in progress.
I'm so happy to see Steinberg adding new features and hope it's a sign of things to come. Solid update.

finally installing all my Steinberg stuff after doing some upgrades - cubase pro, Halion 7, Montage VST. very excited
Definitely going to download this when I get home tonight!!!🔥🔥🔥
Wow. Just installed - I need to play with the spectral synth!!
Tales and FM Lab already had me HALion-curious, but this spectral sampling wizardry sold me.

The best sampler..._PERIOD.
Really great
Just bought it very excited to use it as it kinda reminds me of UVI Falcon via the GUI.
Halion, Falcon, Kontakt, Zencore. It's the age of the supersynth platforms. I have them all, but Halion is my favourite by far.
Great update, but I hope to add some physical modeling engines lilke Bowed and pluck strings.... reed... etc... :)
Getting some strong Kraftwerk, Tour De France vibes around time marker 10:55. Halion 7.1 is insane. Sold.
Updating (Halion Sonic) right now. Thanks, Dom.
Can you do this in Halion Sonic, or just the full version?
Amazing

Wonderful!
Could anyone tell me what “Apollo Samples” is? I want that pack.

Does Halion 7.1 also work on other DAWs like FL Studio?"
yes, of course. FL Studio can run VST3, Clap and AU plugins.
Halion is available as VST, AU and AAX plugin.
Any acoustic sounds?
Thanks for this. Hey, wheres your CC121?
Noticed that too. What's the new controller that took its place?
@@budmaynard5952 It's an SSL UF8. I have the UF8/UF1/UC1 and it's a fantastic modular system.
Interesting but are these the only new features or the just new features in Spectral synth? Has the rest of the program changed?
