    I purchased the 13" Bitubo's for my 2013 48 Sportster. I replaced my 11" Progressive 444's and I absolutely love these Bitubo's! DK Custom is awesome! I ordered them on a Saturday evening and they were shipped out on Monday and I had them delivered on Thurdsday! I highly recommend DK Custom and these Bitubo's. The ride, stance, and handling are night and day difference! If you're thinking about changing out your rear suspension, stop thinking and just do it!

    I put 14in Bitubo on my 2016 FXDLS.. Pretty nice for the price. I have never had anything nicer though to compare too, have legends on the front though.

      Yeah, I don't think I have ever had a Harley that I did not replace the handlebars, except the Softail...and on that I kept the bars but added 4" riser extensions.
      Comfort Triangle is what I use to set up a bike to be Comfortable for All Day Riding.

    So is the dampening adjustment for rebound, compression, or both? I used to ride dirt bikes on mountain trails and a good suspension with all the adjustments could turn those large stones into fresh marshmallows, but if you wanted to ride faster and get really rough, you could do some adjusting and those large stones would turn into a few days stale kind of marshmallows and you never bottomed out hard, but maybe only a little and rarely.

      The damper adjustment knob is for rebound. Compression damping is controlled by the valving and the adjustment of the preload.

    Since I have a Sportster, I noticed that you seem to have a bunch of Sportster videos. Is that just for product demonstrations, or do you guys particularly like the XL series? Obviously I do, I have one! Oh, yeah, stock shocks suck!

      We are in the middle of a 19 video series on A Sportster Makeover. You can see what is on the playlist so far at this link- ruclips.net/p/PLb3bvZgbH9289YGobcCu8EV4WFigna7Le
      And we have done a lot of videos on Sportys. I have two personal Sportys and Devin has one personal Sportster.
      However, we have hundreds of videos on Dynas, Softails, Baggers and Trikes also.

    Ok, I finally order a set for my 2020 Road King (13") and order parts for the front forks last week too (still waiting for 2 of three ordered items). I still have the forks of my 2021 Street Glide Standard to figure out the best option (dang those road bumps and buzz vibration on the 19" low profile tires riding on seal chat type roads is annoying on that Street Glide!) My OEM shocks show no sag with me and bike on the ground, so I figure the 1" total sag I will adjust for will make it easier to move the bike around while seated (I'm on the shorter and lighter side), got to get ready for you event in a few weeks as I plan to come down.. but back to the Sportster.. One thing to keep in mine, that extra 2 inch of travel not only are you limited by the muffler, but you are putting much more stress on that belt drive system when that shock extends that extra length..

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 года назад +1

      Sounds like you have a good gameplan for your bikes!
      The pivot of the swingarm functions with no extra stress on the belt, even with the 14" NexGen™ shocks.
      Looking forward to meeting you at the open house! 👍

    I got the 12” Bitubos for my Dyna. Pretty good improvement over stock, really showed how bad the stock front is!
    Just wish I had got the 13” versions.... and I will.

      Yeah, that 3.7" of travel on the 13's is a very nice upgrade over the 2.7" in the 12's.

    I just bought a set of the 13" Bitubo shock for my '19 Road Glide. I'm a little confused, because the paperwork DK sent with the shocks says to torque the mounting bolts to 40 ft-lbs, but the Harley service manual says 63-70. Which do I use? I'm getting varying info all over the net.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Год назад

      Every shock has different bushings and spacers, the Bitubo Twin Adjustable shocks will be correctly installed with 40 ft-lbs with red thread locker. If you are putting the stock shocks, on your bike, back on, then use the torque specs for those shocks, as specified in your manual. 👍

      @@DKCustomProducts thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure when I put them on last night. The stock shocks, oddly enough, didn't look like they had any thread locker on them. Weird. Service manual says blue 243, so I put that on and torqued to 45, which was in between. Hopefully they stay on. 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

    Harley Davidson and shocks in the same sentence is a crime.

    • @allengrobin2811
      @allengrobin2811 2 года назад +1

      My FXDX would beg to differ. To your point there are plenty of Harley-Davidsons with the wrong shocks from the factory and just as many from a poor choice in aftermarket “upgrade”

    • @DKCustomProducts

      They do leave quite a bit to be desired for most folks.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 года назад +1

      Yes, some folks are happy with OEM shocks, most are not.
      Many who are not then purchase some mediocre aftermarket shocks, which may or may not be better than OEM.
      Some of the mediocre shocks are actually better than OEM and folks think that is great...until they ride with some great shocks, they do not know how comfortable, stable, planted and safer a truly performance set of shocks are.
