Don't you just LOVE how much feeling Jennifer puts into her performance, and the respect she gives Joe Cocker!
They are BOTH Great!
Yes Liked them both singing together 🔥🔥
@@photom2 🤣🤣😂👍
Look at how he moves, he IS music.
@@photom2 this is because you can only see with one eye.
See a few people criticising Joes movements. Folks, that’s what it looks like when you feel the music. Joes passion, love and care for his songs and performances were what made him so special. Practically unheard of nowadays. We miss you, Brother Joe.
how jack black does it when he sings...
Sem sombra de dúvidas ele era muito bom, e jeito doidão e muito massa!!
such an imperfect voice of sir cocker........
The people who are criticizing Joe's movements obviously haven't been watching him over the years. His movements are mild in the performance. The movements were just as important to me as the singing. That is Joe Cocker's trademark.
So very true 👍 😢 RIP joe
Jennifer Warnes has gone without recognition for way too long. She is a brilliant song writer and a beautiful voice
I agree.
I listened this song million times and never had enough
One of the greatest duets. Jennifer Warnes doesn't get her due credit for giving this performance the vocal texture and perfect counterpart to Cocker's rasp and soulful delivery. This is a perfect combination. Replace either performer and there would have been no hit.
Agreed she is a great duet singer!
Agreed, she is superb.
I totally was thinking this when I read your comment. She knows to complement, to modulate, to keep her eye on Jow’s mouth.
I’ll say it . They are both so unique and such powerful singers. A duet for the ages. I rank this duet #1 all time. Prove me wrong .
I know I’ll be listening to something good.
some songs can not be replicated when it was already beautifully crafted. their voices complement each other and the song fits perfectly.
Just my opinion, but I think this is the most wonderful duet in Rock/Pop history. I guess there are bigger name duets, and some songs were bigger hits, but I can't think of a one that featured two more seemingly disparate voices that meshed so magnificently as these two did.
Yes, I'm in deep awe of their passion in this song.
I'll second your opinion.
I'll third your opinion!
Well said.
These two incredible voices belong together. Timeless!
Absolutely! Wouldnt say im a real fan of either of them , but they sing this great song brilliantly 2gether
Kudos to the pair of them.
One of the best and strongest voices of all time, Joe Cocker. Great duet. Great song.
I graduated high school in 1983 and they played this song at my graduation, every time I hear this song I am instantly taken back to that night. R.I.P. Joe Cocker!
Did you bone?
I was 3 years old.
Soy TOMAS,me acuerdo de la paty ñuñes 1983
Better than "Evergreen" a few years earlier.
Who put thumbs down? This is so beautifully done. They go back and forth, two individuals, flowing in and out with the singing. Never losing themselves and making the music greater than each of their performances. I'm sure if they did it again it would be different.
only idiots and knuckle draggers
Joe Cocker was an amazing singer! One of a kind!!!
I have no idea how on Earth you can say he's amazing. He's not on key for most of it, he's got so much rasp and gravel in his voice he's hard to understand, and he's got not a lick of vibrator or timbre, or any of the qualities that are used to measure great singers.
I always say, considering his health, his body, and the vocal chords he has, he's good. But there's no way he's "amazing" without qualifying it, by any reasonable standard.
Seriously, who got these two voices together? Absolute genius.
Yes! Well said!
What a beautiful heartfelt performance! Still gives me the chills and it's been 30 years since then. Total Love in song❤
We miss you Joe. The most unique voice in rock . God bless you.
Love this duo … forever a classic
Joe Cocker had a great voice for his stature. Jennifer Warnes was a sweetheart of a singer. Classy both of 'em
That's the best way to put it. He does not have a good singing voice by all measurable standards. But with what he does have in terms of body, health and vocal chords, he does sing well.
I made an incredible life changing decision while this song was playing in the background. Life didn’t turn out exactly as I wished but it’s better than I thought it could be. I always think of that decision when I hear this song. No regrets
It will❤️just hold on...
Don’t regret things in your life!
I credit seeing Joe Cocker live with a life changing decision I made back in 1990. Seeing the way he performed I realized that I needed to find my own passion.
Joe's voice is unique, you can feel his emotion while he was singing, no other singer sets the vibe quite like he does.
I'm 46 years old and this still makes me cry because I remember being 11 and my mum singing this to me. Sitting together when we only had network tv and stove cooked popcorn. I got to stay up late because she wanted to watch this.
😭 que lindo, cara.
There’s something magical about Jennifer Warnes.voice!
@ Electroncapture. Couldn't agree more. I'm straight but something about her voice here soooo turns me on lol.
she sang the song 'time of my life' in the movie Dirty dancing'.
Yes ,I know....always thought her voice made her sexy.......there's something about her!
She's a mezzo to alto soprano -- lower than the usual soprano woman. That gives her a power and feel which reaches deeper into the chest of herself and the listener (ie, the heart cavity) than just a cerebrally high skull vibration. In the chorus she's singing the underneath harmony which compliments Joe's voice beautifully because usually one expects the woman to take the higher part.
Yeah, she has a Beautiful voice. Had a couple of good hits herself in the early 80's..... Right time of night was one and I know a Heartache when I see one
I wonder why Jennifer never made it big as a solo artist, she was the whole package!!
Probably because she wouldn't do the "sexy chick singer" thing.
She made a solo album Famous Blue Raincoat that contained her covers of Leonard Cohen songs. Before that, I remember her single Right Time of the Night. Don't know which came first - Raincoat or this song. But Right Time preceded them both iirc
@@davidscott129 That should have nothing to do with being a solo recording artist.
She released two more albums highly appraised by audiophiles - The Hunter(1992) and The Well (2001) and quite recent Another Time Another Place (2018).
Cocker is a legend that doesn’t get the credit deserved. Incredible!
chad bearden I will always love him. When my son was 9 months old he did the perfect Joe Cocker imitation. They love feeling air flow through their front teeth. He saw Joe preform, and did the perfect hand movements. The cutest, such a sweet memory.
socal rocks , good Lord, calm down. Ask your kids if they’ve ever heard of him.
@ola cola Satans little child? WTF are you on about? BTW Satan isn't real. lol
Buffy St Marie wrote and, Won the Academy Ward for this song.
Absolutely right! Jennifer is as well. Her voice was beautiful.
God I miss Joe and musicians like Him-real artists, not manufactured for public consumption.
nice choice of word, manufactured
Yea I'm really feeling that these days...
John here me too love his music I remember the first time I seen him on TV singing he has so many
Real musicians, real music! The shit today is str8 Garbage! No talent!
Its because these days, just like any business they are more worried about profit then producing a good product.
Honestly no other duo could pull off this song better. Jennifer and Joe were so not in sync at so much of this song but the raw beauty of this. Performance and their talent makes it so perfect! Great song!!!
I absolutely love this duet, priceless, timeless and straight from the heart.
Not a dry eye in the house, unreal performance by these 2 legends.
Here because of covid 19. Dreaming about the days when this song was hit.
I believe this worked so well because both singers had such powerful voices that neither could bury the other.
Two very unique voices. No other artist can’t hold a candle to this melody
A very humble man with a great voice. R.I.P.. Joe.
I always loved Jennifer Warnes voice. So smooth and energetic. It has that fullness like Linda Ronstadt's. Joe cocker is a legend. RIP Joe.

Songs like this: gone
Singers like them: gone
😢
There are fantastic singers out there right fucking now.
There are some amazing singers online. Ignore the garbage on the pop charts and dig a little deeper. Connor Engstrom invites some amazing singers to his channel. Good luck.✌
We have this song. Song writers and performers have a hard time doing better.
There’s a story that Brahms resented Beethoven because the later’s symphonies were so superlative that it made it very difficult for anyone who came afterwards.
Thus culture advances. We haven’t lost this and now the internet means these gems are available to all.
What a change to watch a live performance with out screaming and whooping, two great singers. Joe Cocker R.I.P.
Such an odd pairing created such a wonderful and rich harmony in this classic tune!
It brings back great memories!
It’s nice to see Joe get dressed up for the occasion
and i love the print
Impressive to see how they sing from their hearts.
Whoever put them together was genius
Jennifer insisted that Joe Cocker be the one to record the song with her
One of the most beautiful chorus harmonies ever. The (gruff) male voice singing the primary melody and the (sweetest) female voice doing UNDERNEATH harmonies (a most unusual combination) is exquisite.
Just can't imagine anyone other male vocals for this song and Jennifer's mastery and ability to compliment his voice is unmatchable.
3/9/21 Bad sad time in my life song brings tears

This sounds so good.
Jennifer and joe is perfect
Joe Cocker will always be my favorite singer. Rest in love Joe!
They made a pact with each other to never lip sync this song. Every performance they ever did was live. Absolute respect.
I was a 29 year old young man in 1982 when that song was released. The song always sent shivers up my spine when I heard it. Still does 38 years later. They sound Beautiful together.
jimmy baker 19 back then , same feelings
Damn you old
@@jake1225 - Ha, yep, I'm 67 but don't really feel that old.
Bless you Joe Cocker on your journey. What a great heart you were.
A restrained Joe is still so freakin great. Jennifer was a perfect voice with him too
This is passion defined by both Jennifer and Joe...incredible.
No one ever put such a feeling in their performance like the great JOE COCKER !!!!!
Hello!!! How are you doing today! Please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you're a fan!....Stay safe!
This is back when talent talked and fluff walked.
This was his comeback, and Jenifer was great - rest is history. Great duet - thats why we are here now ;)
Jenifer Warnes and Joe Cocker are fantastic in this song..Joe Cocker is a legend and he is forever giving us a great performance..U are missed Joe and still listening to your music..RIP
You've touched my heart -- soar with the eagles, Joe.
I never get tired of Joes singing...He had a style all his own...Sad he died.

This guy was a great person memories
Now this is talent and music beautiful just beautiful who agrees
Joe was one of the best ever he pushed all of his soul into every song
I love the vocal control and inflection in Jenifer's voice and how she changed up the delivery ever so slightly from the recorded version.
Very nostalgic duet...one of the best
I feel like Joe showed up to sing, and they found a jacket to put on him to class him up a bit lol.
Daegog The Wyrdmake right 🙂
Dude was definitely Rough but that voice! 😆 Jennifer Warnes has about the most beautiful singing voice ever and has almost Been forgotten unfortunately.
It would take a lot more than a jacket!
Ya. Joe just rolled out of a cab. That previously stopped at 5 bars.
@@gregoest143 Haha, he always looked as though he just came from the pub.
Joe look very young. Joe we miss you, even here in South Africa 🇿🇦
Can't believe I've only just seen this version
Love this duet..legend
Heartwarming Song.. That remains in the Hearts and Minds of Past and Future Generations
She was very respectful. She didn't discriminate against him which makes me believe in humanity again!
THIS IS MUSIC! love this song! An officer and a gentleman....miss those times!
Grande Joe cocker! Foz marcante e inconfundível! Um dos maiores intérpretes do rock!
What two pure souls!
Wonderful. They were so young.
Back in the days when autotune was unheard of yet
Autotune doesn't mean you have a bad voice. It's actually just a specific pop genre sound
He was in bad standard here - but he was so good. Look at Jenifer, she is not feeling complete pleased. ;)
@@robertelg5484
They didnt even look at each other......did they not like each other?
@@SarahSobieski It means you can’t sing in tune, unless you have a computer to enhance the sound. They’re using auto tune because they can’t hit the notes with their own voice
@tinwoods I agree actually. But auto tune is a massive enhancement of your voice. It’s literally changing the notes you are singing. Reverb is much more subtle.
Joe Cocker and his “Power Band” opened for Tina Turner, Pittsburgh Civic Arena, 2000. Totally unforgettable, over the top, live performance. He was DRENCHED in sweat. He held nothing back. Pure talent. No one else like him. Rest in peace Mr. Cocker and thank you for the opportunity to see your live performance.
I just love Jennifer Warnes' voice. She makes the song.
Copy that.
the voice of today yesturday and for always
What a beautiful song just lifts the soul
Joe Cocker was something else. Never heard anything like him. Could watch him all day w his movements too.
Oh I love this song bring back so many amazing memories of the 80’s❤️❤️❤️
Jennifer Warnes: smooth, elegant, grace, perfectly compliments Joe's lead with her powerful vocals
Joe Cocker: squints, head jerks, all twitchy and weird flailing, looks like a junkie on a high, voice that is fucking awesome
She did a wonderful job singing the song The Time of My Life with Bill Medley for the movie Dirty Dancing.
Que música que talento vamos nessa melodia grande poeta essa viagem e linda . Vamos viajar no tempo e recordar grandes momentos .
Joe there will never be another, thank God i got to see you in person in Hollywood, Fl.you were amazing.Love you kid,fly high on those silver clouds singing with the angels.

I loved that in concert he moved his arms just like here.
Mmmm... This is one of the most romantic duets of the early 80s.
Ever
Not just the 80's dude (ever) @ Alejandro Sutono
Jennifer Warnes is one of the greatest voices. Damn she could sing a soup can lable and make you want to buy it. Her voice is amazing.
Beautiful... absolutely!
Joe is so underrated. He was sort of mentored by Leon Russell so he has one helluva pedigree. The skill he shows in blending his raspy voice with the cultured voice of Jennifer Warnes shows what can be done without a bunch of electronic junk to make the mediocre sound good.
80's duets are on..
Awesomely together, love it!
I met Joe Cocker at a restaurant in LA
In 2006 shock my hand was very humble
a true gentleman.
Jennifer and Joe perfect duo, beautiful song performance
Jennifer voice so amazing 😉
She's also great as a backup singer in Roy Orbison's Black and White Night.
Joe Cocker. One of if not the most underappreciated voices in music all time. Such a pure voice. Sounds as good live as studio. Hard to say that about most artists.
Top 100 singers from rolling stone; Grammy award winner (for this song), 14 million albums sold; however, not in HOF. underappreciated is a way overused word. Very much appreciated!
Such a huge song at Proms and other dances I went to.

Love Joe Cocker. The one I missed seeing in concert. Hope to see him in paradise.
I don’t really care for this song, but Jennifer is such a treat to watch and hear. And I love Joe!
Beautifully done and wonderful song
