- Here are step-by-step instructions on how you can do your own pest control for your home and yard.
For those of you who aren't looking to use a Pest Control Professional this video can walk you through how to treat your home for bugs and insects on your own.
All of these products can be purchased at any Home Depot or Lowes. Be careful to pay attention to the product labels to ensure proper amount of application for specific lengths of protection and pests covered.
Most people who wonder why a pest control company would create a video on how to do your own pest control without the use of a professional. However, it is our goal to provide accurate advice and help to anyone whether they chose to be a customer of Aruza Pest Control or not. Keep in mind that over the counter insecticides will not have the same effect or long term residual as professional grade products will.
If you decide you'd rather save your time and have us do the services for you visit us at: www.aruzapest....
I work at one of "mentioned supply" stores. And every customer that ask me "how do I do/apply-etc." I literally show them this video. I can tell them how-to till I'm blue in the face. But when I started to show this video, you could see the "light bulb" over their head turn on. You broke it down into "plain english/ laymen-terms". Which is awesome. Kudos to you, and keep on keepin on my friend
Chuck coming from the industry we can definitely understand how difficult it can be to explain. I am glad that we can help make it easier for you to break it down visually, and we love the support. Make sure to share the video and subscribe to our page!

Best Ortho video I have ever seen!!!!!!!! Watching this right now to get ready to do my pest control!!!!!😁😁😁😁
We appreciate the great words!! Enjoy!
I woke up this morning and I saw some roaches in my kitchen and I almost fainted. I can’t stand those things. 🤢
This video is just what I needed so thanks so much. You look good, you sounded clear and you are knowledgeable about this matter. I only wish that you had the procedure in text on the screen so I could do screen shots but I will write them down.
Thank you so much my bro.
I recommend getting Advion Coachroach Gel Bait. It's more expensive than Combat but it's worth it. Combat tells you to draw lines in designated areas (cabinets, hinges, cracks and crevices throughout the kitchen) but their main focus is for you to purchase their product. With Advion, it will take 5-10 days to gradually see a decrease. What they don't tell you is that if you continue to see it, do not kill it. The purpose for the gel bait is to bring it back to the source (resting areas, cracks/crevices,) and to pass to other roaches. Squeezing pea sizes in the cabinet once a week will definitely get rid of them. It may take more time with female roaches because she will not eat if she's pregnant. The egg sack alone can carry 50 babies. Half of the babies are females and their goal is to feed and reproduce. It takes about a month for the egg to hatch and all hell break loose. An IGR is recommended to prevent their life cycle. Long message but I had time today. 😂😂😂
I remember that when I was younger, I was facing bed bugs, ticks, fleas, and mosquitos. Fun times
Soloman Airhart!!!......... I have to hire this dude!!!
We are going to try it so see if it will work good for our apartment instead of using raid.
Thanks for the video. Really informative.
Worldwide pest an vet control!❤❤❤❤
Thanks for this video. The lawn treatment seems like a lot of product to use, which makes me nervous, since my dogs go out in the yard a few times a day.
The downfall of product that you can get over the counter is the active ingredient is diluted to a very low level so to effectively treat certain pests it will require a good amount of it. There is a chart you will find on the back of the bags that describe different pests that can be treated and the amount required to be applied to effectively treat that pest. The granules are generally water dissolved so after a little watering or just the moisture in the ground over the night will dissolve the ingredient to bind on the soil. It will be safe for pets as long as it is in the yard and not on the sidewalks, patios and driveway where the product can't dissolve.
A very informative video but kill the annoying background music please 🙏
Thank you for the whole entire video.
Incredible video.
Does this work for micr
Ty for your information
What happens when you mop? Do you need to re apply the spray 🤔?
Thanks for the information.
i loved the lawn chair on front porch
Good video! Thank you.
So, the question that comes to my mind that you don’t answer is - what are the real savings and benefits versus having a service do this for you? It sounds like the more professional products will last longer and might be cheaper since they will be purchased in bulk?
Good question! We believe you will definitely get the best benefit from having a professional do the services for you. That way you know you are getting the better and longer lasting products applied properly on your home. With a professional most of them have a guarantee so if some of the pests return between visits they will return and retreat for free. Home Depot and Lowes has no such guarantee on these do-it-yourself products!!!
😂that was the point of his video.
I pay $108.24 every 3 months for a professional company to do it, from the estimate you gave, it's certain I'm saving money by letting them do it. And they will come back and retreat for free if I call them
great video! I rent a 1st floor apartment that constantly gets flooded with spiders. i want to get more pieces of decor and furniture but currently, the spider issue is stopping me. Also, i dont have an AC and NEED my windows open in summertime. I live in brazil where we dont have these exact products, but i'll try to find something similar. thank you
This video was very Helpful Thank You !
Glad it was helpful!
Whats the white powder called again. Couldn't catch it
The one we are using in this video it called diatomaceous earth. Here is a link to a version on Amazon www.amazon.com/Harris-Diatomaceous-Crawling-Insect-Killer/dp/B084CVXYCJ/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=diatomaceous+earth&qid=1593607037&s=lawn-garden&sr=1-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyRFlDSUpLQlE3Q1AmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAyMzQ5NzAzQ1pURFYzQVk4REIzJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAwNzM3MTQyUkIwVjVMOVdTSzFVJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
Can we add birth control to ortho for palmetto bugs roaches
I have to say they'll be very unamerican.. the whole design of these products is the have you come back and buy more and more.. if you had a birth control and put them out of business. Remember the point of the polaroid camera?? You buy the cheap and you forever I have to pay for these high price sx-70 instant films draining your wallet faster than a drunk at a bar .
It's a good Idea to follow PPE guidlines of any pesticide you use. Long-sleeves and gloves at a minimum... do not follow the example here. Protect yourself and health at all times.
Do you know if this will work for mites? I have a whole bunch in an unfinished basement that are starting to work there way upstairs.
Use Alpine wsg and Teco
Great. Loved it.
I rent a room so I can't exactly treat the whole house or area around the house any tips on keeping them out a room?
Treat the baseboards in your room and the inside of the window sill.
Can you provide links of the products? Are these things safe for pets? Thanks!
youtube doesn't allow links but for amazon it's "Ortho Home Defense Insect Killer for Indoor & Perimeter Refill 2, 1.33 Gal" it's what I use for my backyard. it works pretty well tbh.
@@HacksignKT are you that freaking lazy? Go drive to Home Depot or Lowe's and pick it up yourself! My goodness

How does the wand work
You wave it like in the movie The wizard of OZ
Good info, thanks for taking the time to create the video. We purchased a home a few months ago, and have cockroaches in the walls. For the last couple of weeks we have been seeing and killing 1-2 per day. What should I use and how should I get it into the walls?
Thanks for viewing the video. Baiting for roaches is generally the most effective method especially since they harborage in areas generally unaccessible. Use this product by following the label and you should see some results over 30 days. www.amazon.com/Advion-Cockroach-Tubes-Control-Syngenta/dp/B0148W0WOE/ref=sr_1_2?crid=7UI29FYLUXJM&keywords=syngenta+advion+cockroach+killer&qid=1575300336&sprefix=syngen%2Caps%2C148&sr=8-2
Thank you for teaching video I have get that big ideas
Boric acid powder is the best way to permanently get rid of roaches in the house. You can get it at the dollar stores. Sprinkle it lightly in the kitchen where the wall meets the floor and behind appliances. Also put some on a newspaper and place it at the center of the kitchen every night before going to bed and remove it in the morning. Roaches get coated with the boric powder as they walk through and take it to their nests which kills the eggs and newly hatched babies. In 2-3 weeks you will see significant reduction in the roaches and in 6 weeks they should all be gone.
@@rc8839 boric acid doesn’t work as good as it used too. Ortho works and last longer
@@chrisbw1 I did not try Ortho home defense for cockroaches as I did not know about that product when my apartment had severe cockroach infestation and all the pest control treatments provided the rental company did not work. Someone advised me to use boric acid and it worked like a charm.
i put down some of those roach traps by the front door. I looked in it the other day it was a Lizard in it have no idea how it got in the house ..
Hi! This works on riches right?! We just moved into a home and I’ve seen some pretty big roaches here. But I’m willing to do the work to keep them away!
Hello Sonji this service will work on the bigger roaches you're seeing. The dusting that you see me perform will help a lot. Environmental stuff is even more important for roaches. Things like making sure trees/shrubs are trimmed away so they are not touching the house, clean gutters, and make sure leaves from prior falls are not building up around the base of the home as those will all create harboring areas around the home.

Is the lawn care pet safe?
They are pet safe just be sure to follow the directions on the labels!!
5:02 Products
Boy, When I had Terminex, they didn't any of this except maybe the spray! Ha !!! Thanx for video!
You said it not us! Ha
Good video except how he inflates the amount of chemicals to use so that it is on par with hiring a company……
Glue traps are cruel
Weird question but any idea if a product like Bifen IT, Tempo SC or Suspend will harm car paint?
I have a swarm of ants on my 4 cars with thousands of ants walking around and I'd like to retire them before they go back to their nests.
Matt it shouldn't have any effect on the paint. It may leave a residue after drying that would be able to be cleaned off with a power washer. I would recommend testing it on a small unseen area first to determine if it would have any effect.
@@AruzaPestControl thanks for your response. Only thing I have found is that the spray on mosquito repellent stuff with deet causes issues but I haven't found anything about concentrated products like I'm talking about we would mix with water.
are these products safe for pets? I saw on one comments that they are safe only in the grass, not concrete because it dissolves their. After applying and if I am not expecting rain do I need to water the grass with the hose or a sprinkler? If I dont then its not safe until it rains? Thanks for the video.
Home Defense doesn't work, AT ALL. Raid, sprays (or those discks) only works if you spray it directly on the bugs.
Is this safe for pets? I have an inside cat and dog
It is safe for kids and pets as long as you follow the directions on the labels!
They say 12 months but I would do it every month or two..
Thank you! That’s what I was thinking, I thought it was just me down here in Miami having issues with the “barrier “ lasting less than 12 months.. I had been spraying every 3 months but you are right! I will start spraying every month, especially with summer months coming soon!
In reality the products used in this video since they are not a professional grade product will break down outside of the home within 14 days generally. The products are not protected from the sun and weather.
Annoying background music.
I've tried it all .WILL YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR ?
This is obviously a paid promotional video. I purchased Ortho's Bug B-gon which contains .05% bifenthrin and is absolute garbage. I've NEVER had these tiny roach problems before, I've been using Orthos's bug B- gon every 2 weeks now both inside and outside my condo for the last 3 months and it DOESN'T WORK at all! Btw, .05% bifenthrin means that it only contains. .0005 parts insecticide and 99.95 parts water or diluent. 5 parts insecticide diluted with 999,5 water is USELESS!
Not a paid promotion at all as it is more of a professional guidance to using store bought things yourself. We would highly suggest anyone use a professional, but if they choose not to we want them at least applying it correctly. You are correct though these store bought products are so minimal in active ingredients you would have to apply so much to make it work, and not to mention the residual effect is so short compared to professional products.
Don’t use ortho folks this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about
Like all the products, EXCEPT those darn Glue Sticks, those should be outlawed!!! Had one in our Garage and it didn't get the Spiders we have, but instead a Lizard got stuck on there, trying to eat a dead Grasshopper and Lizard ended up dead as well :( But WORST OF ALL , A small Bird must've flown in very swiftly in the Morning when we opened the Garage, because by the time we went to check the Glue stick, the poor thing was ALSO glued to it! I immediately called local Wildlife to help, but they said they were OVER AN HOUR away from my location and to start putting Vegetable oil on Glue Trap and gently rub the trapped part of the Bird to free it. After a couple very nerve-wrecking minutes, we did manage to free the Bird, but it didn't move or fly away, just sat there and Vet said it most likely went into shock and it died :( Very sad thing to witness and having my child cry for days! Was a real eye, opener. NO GLUE TRAP
Yeah that is an issue with them for sure. What you can do is move the glue boards to the far back corner of the garage which will eliminate some of those critters getting into it and continue to track activity of pests. Also you can use bait boxes and place the traps inside there.
These BUGS are use to these sprays that are used over and over again...its a Big Problem...It is Time fo rus all to use natural ingredients ....Just My Thoughts
These products are all naturally derived, and only certain pests will build resistance to the products. It is important to switch up the active ingredients being used. This is harder to do for do-it-yourself as you can only get certain active ingredients over the counter.
Ill just keep paying my pest control company, 180 some dollars and i have to do it compare to 110$ from a company with stronger products, no brainer
We couldn't agree more!!! It's a no brainer.
Spreading toxins around and in our houses, and on lawns and into the environment is a very bad idea. There are other, better ways.
Well tell me the other ways
These active ingredients are naturally derived and safe for the environment and your lawn. The dust powder used is made up of crushed up sea shells so there isn't much to worry about. There is more toxicity in caffeine and table salt.
Hmmmm- ya been seating silent for a while now 😎!
$186 every three months? Are you absolutely insane? This is sheer nonsense. This may be the least helpful video I have ever seen. It should be removed.
Your math doesn't add up or you have zero common sense.
Ortho home defense has been overused and things like roaches have built resistance against it it might knock them down but it won't kill them off just like maxxforce roach gel
I LOVE YOU GUYS. Everything I've ordered from you.
REALLY WORKS
Thank you for the great video. Just that the (cool) music is twice as loud as your voice 😀.
Your yard is huge, though. It looks much larger than mine
How much

Oh no don't spray me 😜
Thank you so much!!
Thank you
You're welcome
Omg! I soooo Appreciate this video 😟😲😊
I have a furnace installed in my garage. Is it safe to used the home defense in the garage?
Yes, you will be safe to use it in there. Just avoid spraying directly onto furnace or electrical outlets.
Aruza Pest Control thank you 🙏
Will this not affect your fruit trees?
Pablo you would not apply products to any fruit or vegetables directly. These products would not be absorbed through the root system though.
But how we get rid of joe biden.
Wish we could help with that. Unfortunately he is not listed on the label of treated pests.
I peed myself laughing!!!! LOL!!!
