- An afternoon and evening spent mainly on the West Somerset Railway at Williton station (great for snacks,, plants and second hand bits and pieces!), Minehead and Blue Anchor, the latter being where the special evening service was recorded passing through bathed in a golden glow. Locomotives in action were: 6880 BETTON GRANGE, 6990 WITHERSLACK HALL, 7812 ERLESTOKE MANOR and resident locomotive 7828 ODNEY MANOR (with freight train working). I have inserted a few of my wife's clips from Williton station.
Beautiful golden light at Blue Anchor. Betton Grange is a beauty.
Yes the lighting was rather fortunate as it raining hard earlier. The Grange does look immaculate at present.
Great day out
Thanks Dan, I wasn't sure that you enjoyed it that much.
Very nice scenes particularly towards the end in the sunset at BA and then all the movements at MD. Nice capture of the departure, I haven't seen any other videos of the return leg.
Thank you for watching it so carefully and the train was quite a sight as it passed BA. I didn't intend watching the return as it was getting dark but my wife persuaded me to go back to MD. That may explain why the return was largely unrecorded.
@@thefakewasp503 Yeah you are right it was dark for the return, so nice to capture it leaving MD!
@@JBTEvans Well the light was awful but it was a little atmospheric. Once again, thanks for watching.
12:45 looks like betton grange is trying to show everyone in Somerset why she’s the third new build engine
You are right, they did show it off a bit whilst passing Blue Anchor.
@@thefakewasp503yeah indeed
22:41 look at the comparison difference between that grange on the left and the manor on the right
It does tend to show it up.
