  • DO NOT ATTEMPT!! This was done in a controlled environment with the proper clearances. These are the raw files of an upcoming video to elevaTOURS. The finished product will be very well edited. These are the raw files. the final video is only 16 min. I'm amazed how much gets cut out of some videos I edit. PLEASE NOTE! This elevator is of no reference to any hate groups. ISIS is actually the model of this elevator.

    Another much safer way to observe the workings of an elevator is just to go to a glass elevator in a public building (i.e. Garage, mall, metro) and look through the glass.

      Yeah, but most of those types of elevators hide the electronics and mechanical bits with metal panels.

    Great demo and video! Seeing elevators behind the scenes is always awesome. I got to see a machine room and pit of a Dover Oildraulic in Oregon with a hotel chief engineer. Also, during the school year, some kids got stuck in the school elevator, and I kept the students inside calm over the intercom and provided some instruction to staff and the fire department. The fire department didn't have the proper key, but I did. Unfortunately, however, the key wouldn't have worked as the students triggered the governor on the elevators. Nonetheless, I was happy to help with the rescue in any way that I did, and I was recognized at graduation for my role by the science chair. That was a great experience...

    This was very interesting. Thank you for filming this. I did enjoy the full speed camera ride. It really showed the speed of this elevator. Keep up the great videos!

    Can't believe the US is still using the old fashioned tricky crappy drop key. Now there's a new invention called triangle key, which gets you into most lifts in the UK. Even drop keys are banned on Lazada (online shopping platform). There are triangle keys that are on sale for a cheap price, plus, using the triangle key is very easy, instead of spinning around the completely fucked drop key hole.

      Full traction elevators have huge buildings on top of the building which stores an even bigger wheel 3x as big and those types of elevators can go up to 18 m/s (the one in the video is MRL traction and only goes 1 m/s).

    • @brianmoody9557
      @brianmoody9557 7 лет назад

      Sometimes labeled "access" or "Hoistway Enable". Not sure which code year; it has to be fairly recent. , This feature is in addition to the car top inspection switch found on older elevators. The key switch is typically found at the top and bottom landing.

      Do you know if the cartop controls would work if the in-car "inspection service" keyswitch has not been enabled first ?

    • @JordanLoweElevaToursCanada
      @JordanLoweElevaToursCanada 5 лет назад

      It’s known as hoistway access. But first you go into the elevator and turn on inspection mode with the key switch on the panel and then you go outside of the elevator and use Hoistway access

    • @psirvent8
      @psirvent8 5 лет назад +1

      @@JordanLoweElevaToursCanada But if you don't do that first, can you simply send the elevator one floor below you, then open the doors with the drop key and put it into inspection from the car top control station and move ?

    You may want to edit out 2:15 to 5:00. In it you reveal what you said you would not reveal about getting into the hoistway. If anyone views this, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS, ESPECIALLY WITHOUT PERMISSION AND SUPERVISION FROM A TRAINED ELEVATOR TECH. It can be VERY DANGEROUS and could expose you to CRIMINAL CHARGES.

  • @plum89
    @plum89 5 лет назад +2

    I've ridden a cartop with full speed once. And plus, why would I have to get permission? It seems really stupid. I wouldn't surf that if I've got permission. Doing it without permission seems to be very fun and when going on full speed, nobody cares.
