    I do industrial refrigeration and have a neighbor who works on elevators. As a service tech I thought, “I wonder if there’s any elevator tech channels like there are refrigeration tech channels... 🤔” and, here we have it! Much respect man 🤙 These are brain busting trades. You got balls to be messing with work inside an elevator shaft, brah... But, I guess that’s what they say about us ammonia techs 🤘I’m gonna go ahead and subscribe 👍

      @@MQElevators; Yeah, you guys out there posting what you do is amazing for these industries. It’s tough with what I do working on ammonia refrigeration systems because of liability and customers not wanting their facilities put on blast... I’d love to start a channel that deals with only ammonia, but I’m not sure how I’d go about it. There are a couple dudes that upload some stuff, but anyway. Great work, buddy. Again, much respect.

    How universal is your trade? If you were to travel out of state or country, would you be able to work using the same tools or are there certain regulations and practices you would need to learn? • @MQElevators
      @MQElevators  Год назад +1

      I can only speak for here in Canada but I do believe it’s pretty universal. It is not a red seal trade yet, meaning your licence doesn’t transfer from province to province but I know guys who have successfully challenged the exam in other provinces. Equipment would be the same for the most part and the tools as well. I think you should seriously consider taken the position, not sure if you’re in the states but maybe someone can add to this response.

    How do you like this profession? Do you see yourself as an old man doing this? I’m already 30+ but in pretty good shape. I have a few years in industrial maintenance and currently work in a large steel press facility. I see the union is accepting apprentices currently into the trade. It’s a good hour plus drive daily to the location, but the money is pretty enticing. I understand it’s a bit less while going through the training period. Just always good to get insight from those inside.

    • @MQElevators
      @MQElevators  2 года назад +2

      In my opinion it’s a great trade to get into, I’m 38 and have been in the trade about 12 years. It’s probably a lot tougher on the body doing construction or mods all the time but maintenance and service is great. The wages are good and I believe you start at 50 or 60% of full rate during an apprenticeship
