Love the videos but please lose the Brazilian pronunciation. I’ll help you if you need.
Nice view from above. Thank you for showing us the place.
I am loving it there. Can’t wait for Covid-19 to go away. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.😎
Looks beautiful . Nice that you guys had this all to yourselves. Putting this on my list when I go back to Portugal.
Getting so much relaxation and inspiration from watching you guys! All the best and merry Christmas :)
Gorgeous area and you have it all to yourself, pretty sweet. The guy selling the alcohol was British? Cool character.
Yeah everywhere is a ghost town! Having empty beaches is great but empty towns is kind of a weird feeling, towns need people around to give them life. That guy was originally from Wales in the UK but has been in Monchique for decades I think. He was super funny though, off camera even more so haha
@@JumpingPlaces I hear you, it's nice to have some life in a town, not too much or too little. Let's hope things get back to normal next year.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Hey Gabriel! Where you @?? I'm Portuguese.
Sorry bro... this year was just a warm-up... ;/
@@dropwiz Cool man. I'm in Mexico.
Very relaxing and natural vibe you guys...keep them coming💕
Quite a change from the ocean! Grilled sardines. Boiled codfish. Mouthwatering!
I got to live here in monchique since a year and I absolutely love it. Thank you for the great video and I yet have to visit Caldas de monchique it looks beautiful 🙏🏽😊 great tips for me with the car sharing company too as I was looking for this already 🙏🏽
Lovely places there! Love the surroundings🥰😍
Good job Chris retrieving your sunglasses.
Beautiful shots.
You always show the best of any place you stay, amazing drone shots, cool tunes, so nice and relaxing to watch your adventures, we have just gone into lockdown again, my eldest son can not visit and have Christmas dinner, it has been a strange year, and I am so happy, I found your channel, your videos always keep me positive, what a happy man in the drink shop, great vlog, thank you for sharing, *Merry Christmas*
Yeah I saw about the UK lockdown because of that new highly contagious strain of covid 😟. Glad that the videos can still cheer you up during this crap time. Hopefully with the vaccine things will get back to normal
Quickly once all the vulnerable have been vaccinated 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Merry Christmas to you and your family also 😁
@@JumpingPlaces Thank you :D
The Portuguese government should definitely sponsor you, Portugal is becoming one of my favourite countries thanks to your videos :)
Would be cool!
@@JumpingPlaces you first need to understand and speak the local language to be able to do something like that .
Hello Chris and Carol and thank you so much for the great video as always. Been following you guys for over 2 years. Your quality has been skyrocketing. Really enjoying this Portugal section. I've been there one time but I haven't seen but a fraction of what you guys are showing.
One suggestion if I may: why not showing a google map at the beginning of the video (like Gabriel does). Many are unfamiliar with Portugal (but also future countries) so it would be awesome to know if you are in the northern, southern, or what area for future visitation of the country. That would be awesome!
Keep up the awesome work!
Ive been to Monchique a few times ( the hotel Pool you showed in the first part is called the Hotel termal) .
I particularly recommend, if you want to enjoy luxury, the Monchique Resort and Spa. Its good.
May I complement you on the beautiful filming. Monchique can be a bit drab...but you captured the best parts ! Well filmed.
The shop owner was so cool 😎, great vid!!! #jumpingplaces #algarve
Thanks for sharing that beautiful video ! Keep those videos coming , much appreciate ! stay safe god bless u both !!!!!!
Very beautiful 💕
Hi Jumping Places glad you guys enjoying your Travels.... The 8miles From Home I know you know them, They used to live here in Portugal too, Now they staying in Siargao for Now ..... Nice vlogs guys Merry Christmas to you guys 👍🎁🎄 🎄🎄🎁
In case you didn't know, sardines are typically a summer dish (not exclusively, of course, but typically). They're fatter and much more tasty at that time.
Those were most definitely frozen because we're in the closure season now. However, since there were no Santos Populares this year, these sardines might have been captured in the high season and frozen right away, so they retain most of their fat. They're just not fresh but I don't think Chris can tell the difference like we do. ; )
Happy Holidays you two 🎄
woww Amazing content friend..Thank you for sharing with us
Portugal e lindo !
I really like Chris' hair! Looks good long! And of course Carol always with the super lush curls. Your kids will have such nice hair! Anyways great video 😂
Normally, all towns that are named "Caldas" of something have their ancestral roots in water springs, mostly with therapeutic properties. These towns normally have (or had) spas, fountains, etc.
hi, trust u r using the GoPro 9. Any filters used and do u use external mic? Quality of your videos have improved over time. Continue to excel and much success to both of u always. Much tx
This is the Portugal I am more used to. The only difference is the liquor seller speaking perfect English! Do you have any information on who he was?
He was from wales in the UK I think but has been living there for decades
I live in Monchique and feel very very fortunate to be surrounded by its beautiful nature.
Me too. We are indeed very lucky.
@@ciararespect4296 haha no it isnt.....hasnt touched Monchqiue....hahaha
@@ciararespect4296 no it hasnt.....I still live here....hahahahaha
After Algarve, you could keep going north, region by region. Alentejo next? :)
Would be a good idea but kind of hard with covid, rules changing a lot and many times they don’t let you travel within regions unless you really need to
Loving this video, never new Portugal had this type of countryside. Thanks 🇵🇹🇬🇧👍
Eyes rolling 🙄, sigh...

Comments, no matter how boring help the RUclips algorithm for the channel. Especially if posted within the first hour. This hugely raises the profile and distribution of the video.
However your probably asleep already RUclips narcissist 😴😴
Such beautiful scenery, you guys are so blessed to be able to visit such lovely locations
A very quiet lonesome place. A place for solitude.
What a fantastic place! Thank you for showing us the Wonders of Portugal, which is a beautiful country! Merry Christmas
Very interesting and informative video. Cheers 👍
Been missing you guys since you left the Philippines. But I'm thrilled watching the coolest tourist spots in Portugal. So relaxing beautiful destinations. Take care and stay safe 💞.
...and you had a proper cup of tea...
For sure 😀
Cool videos guys! Great job and sending love from Lagos ! X
🎅🎁🎁🎁🎄🎄Hello, we hope all is well. We just want to take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas Great video my friend Love and Light Sarah and Glenn 🎄🎄🎁🎁🎁🎅
What an awesome aerial of Algave. Those villages looks so great. Thanks for the great blog, and the dark glasses rescued.
What a beautiful place. We love when you come upon those interesting shops. We did not know it was so green in the Algarve. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
This was one of the few places in the Monchique mountain that escaped the terrible August 2018 wild fires, probably due to being a very humid place. You can see at 11:57 that everything around it is burnt.
On a different note, Monchique is also known for having the highest pH of all the spring waters in the country: 9. It's completely alcaline.
Fóia (highest point ) its great...good for the view! Do enjoy!!
Thanks :D
What virus? The guy at the liquor store was awesome, Carol looks beautiful in orange and black, keep up the good work Chris! 🍹
You have more video views when your here in the Philippines
Of course, way bigger country and population and almost everybody speaks English there
Just brilliant C&C, really enjoy watching your videos, such an inspiration, must go and find that little shop in Monchique 😋
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Hermoso lugar!!gracias por mostrarnosla.Por lo visto es más económico rentar auto por ésos lados que en Lisboa.Muy deliciosa ésas comidas .Felíz navidad!!!
Hello!
I live in Portimão but I don't know where is the place you taste the melosa... Can you tell me?
As usual, awesome drone footage. Definitely a region I will put on my vacation bucket list.
Yes, this happens everywhere and wherever it happens it's wrong. Portugal also has a problem with police brutality and they are targeting foreign tourists. Read the article. My son is not the only one who has been brutalized by the police in Portugal. It is ironic and hypocritical that World Youth Celebration is taking place in Portugal, while elements of the Portuguese police are beating up youth. Don't you think? All of us need to expose the problem wherever it happens.
Bacalao cocido, we do have that menu too...
Fish fermented in salt
Dried and salted cod. Before it can be eaten, salt cod is rehydrated and desalinated by soaking in cold water for one to three days, changing the water two to three times a day.
Beautiful. But I must confess to missing a few local kids and a random dog. LOL
Portugal is that incredibly cheap? $34 for renting 3 days for a car? You can't even get one day in New Jersey to rent a car.
As a northern lad I'm getting serious travel envy. Heading to Algarve tomorrow, hope to visit benagil
Wow this is my first time seeing Carol drive a car!
Such a nice place. I love watching your videos.
" This lady is obviously an alcoholic " 😂🤣 ❤
Going to get some special lovin' for saving those sun glases, lol.
Definitely more green foliage than the coast. Very pretty. Do you know if Monchique would be a lot busier if it weren't for COVID or is November off-season for that region for tourism?
I think at this time of the year it wouldn’t be that busy anyway but there would definitely be a few more people around and more places would still be open I think
Just a suggestion.......music a bit supermarket
6:46-> Yea! Adventure.....let's see what happens....7:15-> No problem....overprotective wife.....just don't catch a cold......
13:57-> Good interview!(and funny too/do more)...the fires, the honey, the information[15.5% is strong/46.5% will drop you to the floor]
16:29-> Carol's da' Man!!! Knows how to appreciate a fine spirit(don't challenge her in a bar guys).
21:00-> The cost of the restaurant meals was very respectful....and the food looked so good.
Those sardines are 'finger food', dip 'em in a serious garlic/chili spread and crunch away.
Everywhere, everything is just meticulous in planning, maintenance and upkeep....a very attractive destination....good video.....Obrigado....
Born and rised in Caldas de Monchique it is sad to see how it is right now.
Monchique is a unique area of the Algarve, located inland and referring to the towns, villages and countryside of the largest mountain of the Algarve.
A hidden gem of a place. Would love to experience it.
Beautiful place
que linda...we miss you two here in our country, Philippines🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
cheers and have Merry Merry Christmas🎄🎄🎄
What do you primarily use to shot these videos?
Excellent class I love the way my people speak English never fall.I am from albufeira I use to go here for by Melons 🍈 it’s the best melon in Algarve region xx🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Happy Holiday Chris and Carol ♥️♥️♥️
Nice! Now tell true, first of all: you wanted to swim in that water 😊 Secondlly: you're living in the Algarve, you aren't a tourist at all 😜 👏🙌🍻🎬🎥
shame for all the eucalyptus. To many
Will you ever start to upload in 4k?
Cool man, good vibes and you seem like my type of people. Definitely not all the RUclipsrs come across this relaxed and while the effort is lower it still works.
This area is so pretty. The aerial shots were just so wow!
happy blessed holidays
That clear cool Spring where your sunglasses fell in - that is a natural creek, correct?
It is from a natural spring but the structure was man made at that part
@@JumpingPlaces thanks. Yes, I was wondering if the source was natural. That creek is really appealing to me, and I suspect it’s rare in the Algarve.
Now we really itching to visit Portugal because of your videos.
Another great adventure thanks Chris and Carol have a wonderful holiday with family and friends..
Many Thanks for your Tips
Sadly, Tony (the man selling medronho) died recently.
Really? That is sad to hear, he was such an amazing personality! :(
Very beautiful plush greenery and I love the old water canals they have. it had a very comfortable feel that I love when I am in the lower mountains or hilly areas. love the look of the village and it did seem so peaceful. I am glad you both took a little trip up in the hills and who knows, you might stay an extra day or decide to find another area and it might be very different and then you can stay and look around. loved the video and looks like a very wonderful place to stay and relax. Peace and good times in the hills my friends. to your health with the tasty little drink.
Muito bom Monshik Espectaclo .Obrigado .,Bom Natal Parabens.
thats a nice place.
Did she drive after that😂
So beautiful 😍💚
Chocolate Shop Tony!
You sponsor Portugal
Great place thanks
Nice beautiful place watching japan japan 🇯🇵
The water in fonte dos amores it's drinkable, one of the best in the country.
Fascinating Roman built Aqua duct, still functional and stood the test of time.
LOL, Carol esta’ se esquecendo do português. Would love to hear interactions between you two and the locals in Portuguese.
Anyone who likes Roy Orbison Hass to be good people.
Good video loved the drone shots and maybe that liquor shop you were in, the guy had a slight British accent ? his english was impeccable , a good salesman ! and look at Joan Chamorro in you tube he has three or four ? lovely Spanish girls singing Night and Day, the Noel Coward song that was playing in your video, looking forward to more videos and Carol that orange colour suites you ! you look sharp in it with your dark Brazilian hair and olive complexion, and glad you did not slip Chris when retrieving your expensive glasses !
Cheers! The guy is originally from wales in the uk I think but has been in monchique for decades. 😀
"But this lady's obviously an alcoholic." lol The merchant in Monchique was hilarious and quite the character and salesman. The place looks lovely. But it must be a bit eerie walking around in a relatively empty town. Seeing other people after all is part of the fun of traveling isn't it.
I quite like empty beaches but yes empty towns is a bit strange. Towns need people to give it a bit of life for sure!
So beautiful country 🤗 love from PH 🎄🎆
beautiful place..happy holiday...
Did you tried dried sardines in the Pihillipines? Merry Christmas to you both.
We didn’t get around to trying it unfortunately, merry Christmas 😀
Hmm that drink is interesting. Do they ship out of Portugal?
You can only get it in monchique, even supermarkets and stores don’t sell it in other places in the algarve
Chris, your plate looks good. I’ve never had a fried sardines😋
Grilled! Not fried. Probably the best way to eat sardines. So, so good! :D
