- There’s no getting around it, retro games are expensive nowadays. So when it came time to invite my best friend back for another round of “buy me video games from eBay”, we had to up the budget. So this time around Terell had $300 to play with, and again I had absolutely no idea what he was going to get me. Here are the results. (Spoiler Alert: This guy knows me well. Too well. Almost like we’ve known each other for years. Weirdo.)

i never owned scooby doo cyber chase but still it holds great memories for me because as a kid i had braces and at the place where they did them they had video games in the waiting area a wii, a genesis, and a ps1 i would play that scooby doo cyber chase game every time i was in there i just loved it even though i had to always restart and play the same levels every time i was there lol

Glad your friend bought Disgaea 5! That's probably the easiest Disgaea to platinum but it's still challenging and fun! That was the first Disgaea that I got the platinum on. Going for Disgaea 4 Complete+. ;)

My opinion with DQ11... The first time I picked it up, I put in about 2hrs in my first playthrough and dropped it because I thought it felt "slow" and I wasn't digging the combat system. But during the first year of COVID, I decided to give this game a fair shot, since the reason I picked it up in the first place was because it was one of the better DQ games in the series. I gotta say, I am glad I gave it a 2nd chance because it was a light-hearted story with a VERY classic feel to it, despite being a modern game. I highly recommend to any fans who like JPRGs or turn-based combat. It's as classic as it gets.

Dragon Quest XI is my favorite, and I actually like this version better than the later S version you talked about.
That one does have some new content and better sound, but the original release has better graphics. For the rerelease on Switch they simplified graphics a bit and then ported that Switch version back to PS4, resulting in some loss of detail. Not a huge deal but you can definitely tell the difference.
Still hoping for a version that combines the best of both worlds someday, but for now I have the original on PS4 and the Definitive Edition on Switch and PS4 and the original is my favorite.
