To me, Scott was the star in this song. His solo was well done.
There's a video on his channel where he plays it alone so you can see his fingers.
Same thing in playing god, he had an all-harmonics run in his playthrough where Tim plays chord breakdowns on the lower frets.
In the older songs, Scott's sections were more melodic.

I agree Scott was the star here. He finally got his due.

I would say that Polyphia’s music is great to dance (and especially mosh) to. It’s very high energy for sure so not for everyone’s style but it really floats my boat

I love all the love Scott is getting. He deserves it! I was one that got drawn into the band from Tim, but the more I listen, I love both Clays and Scott. The entire band ripsssss.

Geez Patrick these guys are all such beasts on their instruments. The things they can do are not human. Their new stuff is out of this world. I just finished their new one ABC and it rips too. A big surprise in that one for me too.

@@bobcieslinski Heck ya brother! I just got into this band a couple months ago and then saw them live last weekend. You MUST see them live. They had a trumpet come out to start the show with the band. Really fun! That ABC song is fun too! The way the vocals are in sync with the guitar during the alphabet is really cool. And then they throw up tabs on the screen in the video. WHAT A POWER MOVE.

Great reaction! I would argue that yes Tim is the best at song writing/structure, hooks, technique, his signature 16th note triple runs and everything but if you need something that’s just down right filthy and tasty… Scotty is tooooo good at that. His work in this song in particular is so creative and his choices continue to surprise me. Also GOAT and Yas! are good examples of Scotty not just holding his own but actually, in my opinion, outshining everyone else. 🔥👌

First of all, this is yet another great record by Polyphia. Secondly, people in the comments giving Scott what seems to be the “star”praise please acknowledge the fact this group is not one without the other. Tim and Scotts duality is very present as much as the Clay brothers is . It’s what makes their sound as a whole so great

    • @bobcieslinski

Kameron I completely agree with you. They all seem bring their individual skills together to create monster songs as a whole group. They all need each other to make it Polyphia.
