Yeah, They are softer than a Faber-Castell Polychromos and Caran d'Ache Pablo, but they are firmer than Prismacolor Premier They're more like Caran d'Ache Luminance, but firmer.
Very neat color chart you made. Nice little review and I also can wholeheartedly recommend those pencils. They are one of my favourite sets, actually. All the best, dude
I hated them with passion when I got them first and was actually mad at my friend who recommended them 😁 But like a year later I gave it another try and found out how to work with them and now I really enjoy them and get excellent results. They are not my absolute favourites but I appreciate what they can do, like the rich and saturated finish. Sometimes I like that. It was the same with the Arteza pencils. Took me weeks to figure them out but once you get it they are fantastic. At least they were when I bought mine some years ago. Faber has some underrated gems like their cheap Faber Classics. They are a bit harder yet smooth to work with and I love the rather natural colour pallet.
It is good to hear that you are able to find a way to use them and happy with them. I did notice all colored pencils from different brands behave differently and I have to adjust the way I draw or color.
It’s just a shame they come only in 48. FC would have done better to increase the number than to bring out the Black Edition which has 100 colours and a multitude of smaller packages for different purposes. I am not a fan of the triangular shape.
Too bad they didn't work for you. You can consider trying them on different papers. They are not as good as Polychromos but I enjoy using them on my sketchbook 😊
@@cheesim I did try all papers, and compared them. The classic and black edition, the cheap ones, are better. The goldfaber leave clumps like no other. Honestly, any cheap pencil i ve tried performs better. it s just my experience, maybe i don t connect with them, fine. it s weird though that i connect witth all others. Have fun, thx for the video ;). I use polychromous and Luminance for serious things, and cheap pencils for practicing and exploring things. Unfortunately good art supplies have pornographic prices ;)
@@gibson2623 No worries, that's totally fine. They are not my favorites either, I just use them to draw on my sketchbook with papers that have tooth, they seem to perform better that way. I do love the Classic and the Black Edition, those lay down nicely, can't explain, just feel great. 🤣The pencils that blew me away were the Holbein pencils! I can understand why they are so expensive, I can tell the difference right away!
@@cheesim YE, Holbein is really good. Are they oil or wax? Never tried them. I have their acryla acrylics, and they are good, and not too expensive like all the rest. I bet they must cost similar to the luminance.... I paid 125 euros for 40 luminance pencils. I must be out of my mind, LOL 🤣
I don’t remember, but they certainly feel like wax based pencils! The price is high in US but very affordable in Japan. I picked up some when I went to Japan in March 😆
I love Goldfaber pencils and between a Prismacolor and a Polychromos is the perfect way to describe them!
Yes! It is like between Prismacolor and Polychromos! I do find them to work better on paper with tooth 😅

Yes they are fun to use and a little more affordable compared to Polychromos. 😊 Thanks for watching and taking time to comment 🙏🏼
Wow the colors are so vibrant and pretty. Great video 😊
Thanks! There are pretty good and not too pricey compared to the Polychromos

I like the yellow tones … If bag makers made bags like these colored pencils 😂❤
These are some of the best pencils, the colors make me happy! I agree, we need bags in these colors! 🤣
i really like goldfaber
Faber Castell do make excellent colored pencils!
Those colours are nice!!!
Yes they are! Thanks for stopping by 😊
This was so helpful! Know Ik what to buy :))
Thanks! I am glad to be helpful!
Wow nice pencils
Thanks! They are fun to use!
Ooo nice! I'm a polychromos junkie, but I do want to check these out.
Polychromos are definitely better though, I love Polychromos too!

I guess maybe this hasn't been popular enough for them to do so. 😅
They are really bad. waste of money
