    I used the peg method. It’s a common method memory workers use where every number is associated with a sound. 0=s or z, 1=t or d, 3 = m, 4 = r, 5 = l, 6 = ch/sh/zh/j 7 = k, 8 = f or v, 9 = b or p. The number 35, for example, could be “mail”, so you would link the 35th card to a mailman, for example.

Amazing. Thank you so much. This will save me lot of time to re-arrange the stack. I usually shuffle it after a few tricks, so the spectators doesn't thinks I am working with a stacked deck (and then do a couple of tricks using the same deck for which I don't need a stack.) But always a pain to reorder the stack. This will save me hours... Thank you so much !!!

Why don't you just keep a stacked deck always, for reference only??

I also when learning the stack made a mnemonica training deck. I wrote the number associated with the card with a sharpie on the back of the card. Shuffle the deck. Turn face up and guess the number on the back or turn face down and guess the card associated with that number.

The beauty of this tutorial is that even if you have a completely shuffled deck, you know that the bottom card ( for example the position of Ace of Spades ) will end up in the seventh position using this technique, as per the Mnemonica Stack. So also the top card ( position of the Ace of Clubs ) will wind up in position 43 after you have performed this shuffling technique. And you can in fact extrapolate the position of any card whatsoever ( before shuffling) to the position it will be in after performing the Quadruple anti faro etc. This creates wonderful mind blowing prediction effects. Thank you Card Mechanic

I learned Aronson with flashcards and creating/destroying/recreating the stack repeatedly. I also set up printouts of where all the As, 2s, 3s, etc were for basic culling. I'd run through the stack and upjog them, push them back in and start on the next. I did the same with colors and suits. While Mnemonica is in more common use, Aronson has so much built into the stack, I can't go back. And I believe someone wrote several booklets on using his stack without memorization.
One of the most important things you learn from Juan is that you only need half the stack to perform absolute miracles. The fifth DVD in his set covers all his shuffles and subleties and is worth the price alone. In all honesty, EVERYONE WHO DOES MEM WORK SHOULD OWN THIS!
Using a known stack with a marked deck is an excellent advantage. No peeks. I decided to put a breather into my top card (JS) which is also center-corner-marked with a NAVY BLUE fine-point Sharpie, as I'm using the Maiden Marked from Penguin (by the brick is best price). Corner short cards at 13 (2D) and opposing short 39 (6H). I have no problem cutting exactly 26 cards, even from a table. However, a scalloped card would help there, for those who can't. LEARN A ZARROW SHUFFLE and practice until it looks perfect, then rehearse what you've learned regularly. The ZARROW video from Meir Yedid, and the Gary Plants, and Jason England tutorials can help with these.

I had worked with mnemonics, PEG (Harry Lorayne) & PAO (Dominic O'Brien) systems in the past before I heard about memorized decks. Hence, it takes about 30 minutes max to learn the cards' sequence very easily! If you don't know about mnemonics, it will definitely change your life, not only in magic!!

To anyone struggling to memorize it, this is how I did it.
I would memorize 4 cards at a time. I would repeat it to myself over and over again. Then I would make flash cards for those 4 cards and test myself.
Once I felt 100% confident that I knew those cards, I'd then learn the next 4 and repeat.

This method saves time if you already have the cards in the starting AC..AS order. But from a shuffled deck I find it quickest just to arrange the cards in the memorised order. Otherwise it takes too much time to reach AC..AS order. The above procedure is most use before you have the order memorised since it saves referring to a table and maybe making mistakes.

EDIT : you exchanged the 3 C and 2 hearts in your tutorial and I didn't see the correction that you inserted across the screen.. thank goodness. 4 times before I saw it . I had my lighter out and was ready to burn the deck 😆

You can ask someone to pick a card and when they return it it will be out of order so you know their card. You can also ask them to name any number, then you immediately know which card is at that number.

I wonder why this particular stack is so popular, like you could literally shuffle a deck of cards completely randomly and memorize the order that it’s in and say that it’s a stack, and no one would even know about it. Like what if you memorized your very own stack and you could just fool magicians

    • @scptime1188

True, but memorising an actual random sequence is quite hard. If there's at least some sort of pattern that you can learn it's easier.

I learned it just with the brute force method. If you really try it isnt a Problem.
