I adore that semi-rounded font that Scandinative used, I just spent the past 10 mins digging for it to use in my own project! I have a question, as someone who works with fonts, do you know of the best way to purchase licenses so that their authors are given the highest percentage of the profits? I assume that the sites I found the font on all charge a commission, since the prices vary on each. I haven't had much luck finding the original author and want to ask them if they have a preferred purchasing method. I know that usually there's a readme bundled in a zip with fonts to give credits, but I would only receive it after making a purchase, so it's a chicken-and-egg issue. I've only dabbled in typography so I'm not terribly in-the-know yet (which is why I've been watching your work for some time here, thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge, by the way!)
This is the first time that I have seen on of ur vids but this is amazing. Not only u gave 5 people work that they got payed for, this people also get promoted to everyone watching the video and on top of that u give them advice on how to be better. U deserve a like and I can tell u I dont like many videos.
Really appreciate the fact that you pay designers for their work. I believe many youtubers would simply consider this video as an ad for their services to justify not spending a few hundreds on a handful of logos.
I really love the concept - paying designers for the same design This is really interesting and people will watch this too, but it will be even good if this work is given to beginners on Fiverr, etc ( coz no one will give work to beginners for commercial purposes) as the designs are not for real purposes they can actually get work and they can learn about their mistakes :)
For me, the first one was my favorite direction. For an online training company, it was heading in the right direction. That designer worked so hard. Top work.
Eventhough the design looks simple..you dont know how much time & effort it take to make it perfect.. cuz my manager probably would say u can easily draw an infinity to make it
its always like this sadly :D actually most peoples under rate 99% of jobs out there until you've tried something you should not be able to talk about how easy it is imo :D
I didn't explain this well enough in the video: The designers are paid for three hours of their time. It would break the bank to ask them all for more! --- I know I say "industrious" - I meant to say "Industrial". Thanks for letting me know :) Hope you guys enjoy the video! Let me know which one you liked the most :)
Typically these sort of videos are used to gauge what sort of skill divide their is in the actual market over the cost. But when you just use twitter to ask your subscribers "who wants to be featured in one of my videos" it completely undermines the entire concept.

Designers underselling themselves is the biggest problem within the design industry, it's the biggest contribution as to why so many designers are paid peanuts. It often feels like a competition to see who can tolerate the biggest loss in income whilst providing the largest output of time and resources. Its such a toxic culture within the industry.
@@asronome A lot of designers are artistic introverts, and as a result they rarely push for better conditions, promotions or more money. I've known designers like this who should be on twice as much as they settle for.
@@observantgeezer3292 it's why you should not do it commission based but hourly pay. From personal experience there are people who take advantage with the low price and try and shove everything at you for you to sort and a £100 logo commission takes 2 weeks. That's why hourly rates is the best way.
I also want to add that the company's color palette of choice is also tying it back to the "industrial" aesthetic... Caterpillar Inc is a world renowned manufacturer of construction equipment, and what is their color palette? *yellow and black* It makes sense, then, that the designers are having difficulty getting a poorly named company with a poorly chosen palette to fit into a youthful, educational, and "millennial" aesthetic

The one you liked most from the first set looks a lot like the Macromedia/Adobe Flash logo haha
Great video, I really enjoy these comparison ones. And you break down their ideas in a fair and constructive way. Great stuff!
Hey thank you! I actually just customized the Poppins font for that, by just rounding a couple of the corners to match the curve of the lettermark.
The fourth one looks the best by far in my opinion, the second one had great concepts but what he chose was not the best. Loved the video :)
Glad you liked my logo! Thank you!
Such a good idea, bro! You guys killed it as always!
Glad you enjoyed, David! 🧡
This is the first time that I have seen on of ur vids but this is amazing. Not only u gave 5 people work that they got payed for, this people also get promoted to everyone watching the video and on top of that u give them advice on how to be better. U deserve a like and I can tell u I dont like many videos.
The icon on the £150 was insane I think, maybe a bit industrious as you said but so professional
The 5th designer should raise his price. Amazing piece of work !
Seriously one of my favorite series to watch
Deffo my favourite too! It’s always so interesting to see different interpretations of the same brief 👌🏼
The yellow on red logo looks stunning. 150$ aint enough for this
I friggn' love you! Yer personality is Bomb... and so is your advice!
Thank you!
Really appreciate the fact that you pay designers for their work. I believe many youtubers would simply consider this video as an ad for their services to justify not spending a few hundreds on a handful of logos.
I really love the concept - paying designers for the same design
This is really interesting and people will watch this too, but it will be even good if this work is given to beginners on Fiverr, etc ( coz no one will give work to beginners for commercial purposes) as the designs are not for real purposes they can actually get work and they can learn about their mistakes :)
We do this also :)
For me, the first one was my favorite direction. For an online training company, it was heading in the right direction. That designer worked so hard. Top work.
I LOVE videos like this 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
i loved the 3rd one it
looked really nice
Thank you! Hopefully, that was mine, although the reason for the number of emails was that I sent updates to my original which were not used 😔
Luv ur vids. Inspired me to venture into Graphic Design.💗
That’s so awesome 🙌🏼
Eventhough the design looks simple..you dont know how much time & effort it take to make it perfect.. cuz my manager probably would say u can easily draw an infinity to make it
its always like this sadly :D actually most peoples under rate 99% of jobs out there
until you've tried something you should not be able to talk about how easy it is imo :D
I really like the 3rd one, it's logo is really pretty!
I quite like the third one! It’s probably my favourite one!
I missed this type of videos
You should use Fiverr next time
I like the last logo. Kinda nice to feel different
Hi Will. In the description check the links of the designers. You forgot Robin 8:53
Hi Will, how can I send my logo to you for private critique?
Wow! All logo designs are amazing
Love these videos. Gives me inspiration seeing all these different logos.
The $200 and the $50 was the best haha. All their presentation designs were amazing. Did you ask permission to present on RUclips their stuff?
Yes :) Not that we have to ask them - we always make sure they know what's going to happen :)
The last one really reminds me of the game trailers logo.
Also I think you should have gone in a strict ascending order of price.
Thank you for giving me this opportunity to showcase my work, I have learned alot from this exercise
Disclaimer from a designer: I would starve taking that many hours to create a logo for $50 to $100. (and I'd never EVER show my process)
Wow, I cant believe these designs for those prices!
If I am being completely honest, I would never charge this in the real world haha, i just wanted to be a part of something fun hahaha
@@Scandinative Wich one were you ?
@@Scandinative Thank God! You scared me that I'm a lazy overpriced pice of shit :D wich one are you?
@@piotrolejniczak4393 I am the last one! haha
@@Scandinative Nice work! i liked your presentation the most:)
Thank you!
Your work really inspired me to start making videos
I really like the last one . cause it looks so unique and concise
I like this series 😍
The last logo is on another level, love it
Lol that last one is just a SLIGHT tweak on the Ford Focus ST logo
I learned so much from this video! Thank you!
Typically these sort of videos are used to gauge what sort of skill divide their is in the actual market over the cost. But when you just use twitter to ask your subscribers "who wants to be featured in one of my videos" it completely undermines the entire concept.
Okay I'm gonna make a compilation of ALLL the times will have said "KERNING"
Bruh I didn't click this vid when I saw it in my recommendations, cause I thought it was the old vid. I realized it was new when I saw it in the discord server
People are waayyyy undervaluing themselves. My last 3 logo projects have been over 2k
Wow...sick, any tips for beginner?
@@kuteken6312 Strive to be the best, when your work speaks for itself, clients will come. They are out there looking for the best already
its weird how the cheapest logo of them all is the best one ( not the final delivered one but the logo that will choosed )
The logo at 11:33 is way too close to the Ford ST logo for me
Oh holy heck! hahaha I have never seen that before but thank you for bringing that up! Definitely far too similar for my own preferences as well and I should have known that ;) This is why sharing your designs with friends and your little design community before you finalize your designs is so important!
@@Scandinative Oh for sure. There are so many logos nowadays that it's hard not to step on another design's toes. I have no doubt that you organically came to something similar. I didn't mean to imply that you stole it, so sorry if it came across like that. Otherwise you provided a great service!
@@FPDirtyTeaLeaf You're totally right that its like, nearly impossible nowadays to come up with something completely unique haha, i didn't take that as you insinuating i stole fords idea at all. Totally cool! I appreciate you bringing it up and saying something, it's a good reminder to do a lil google search before presenting ;) hahaha
This logo looks amazing and almost gives off that car brand type of logo 11:59.
That's really cool, but it's too close to the Ford ST logo. So no wonder it gives automotive vibes :D
@@Kimelsson haha 😂 I do t know of very many car logos but yeah it does
i love how you appreciete every logo ;)
Designers underselling themselves is the biggest problem within the design industry, it's the biggest contribution as to why so many designers are paid peanuts.
It often feels like a competition to see who can tolerate the biggest loss in income whilst providing the largest output of time and resources. Its such a toxic culture within the industry.
Designers out here trying to minimize profits lol
@@asronome A lot of designers are artistic introverts, and as a result they rarely push for better conditions, promotions or more money. I've known designers like this who should be on twice as much as they settle for.
@@observantgeezer3292 it's why you should not do it commission based but hourly pay. From personal experience there are people who take advantage with the low price and try and shove everything at you for you to sort and a £100 logo commission takes 2 weeks. That's why hourly rates is the best way.
Very nice! Reminds me of the video I just made where I hired 5 artists to draw me without seeing my face :P
Anyone else notice the third logo is a spin off of the “Cool S”... Kind of shocked you said it wasn’t “millennial” enough lol
the 5th is on my opinion also a spin off of the Ford ST logo.. but they all look nice
the last one looks like the "ST" from FORD Focus
4th one was def my fav
Yayyyyy so glad you liked it! Thank you!
i love these videos and im a great fan of modern logos :)
Oh wow they presented their work so well. I should learn to do that.
Beautiful video!
The last logo reminded me a lot of the Ford st logo. Really similar. But I really liked it.
The 3rd and 1st are really good
I love how you support other designers on the way.
I also want to add that the company's color palette of choice is also tying it back to the "industrial" aesthetic...
Caterpillar Inc is a world renowned manufacturer of construction equipment, and what is their color palette? *yellow and black*
It makes sense, then, that the designers are having difficulty getting a poorly named company with a poorly chosen palette to fit into a youthful, educational, and "millennial" aesthetic
That is an incomplete brief, by miles. The *first* thing they should do is ask more questions.
The question sounds like something that would be on a test
Bro Pls do the Branding/logo challenge on reddit and review the logos something like that
im in love with the last one
The last reminds me of a race track, it would work well for a motorcycle/car company
9:51, wow that guy with the brown shirt is seriously sweating. Look at those pits! LOL
I give my vote to the fourth. Her logo is elegant and you see the steel trap name at a glance which is important if you're looking at a phone screen. I also feel that it can be stretched into a square without too much hassle.
