TMM doesn't mention it but you can see in the first battle that whenever one of them electrics the other goes for it too. This is because in Mishima battles you establish dominance by showing that you have the more consistent electric
in mishima battles , there are actually two battles being fought, one is of fundamentals and the other of who has faster electric, its like at some points in neutral both players think its time to electric at the same time lol
I have to say I'm impressed of the fact that after all these years you still come up with new ideas and interesting topics for your videos. This in particular was very interesting as you answer a lot of questions people have had for the longest time. Hyped to see more of this !
Oh im going to love this series, i can tell already. This is what i have always enjoyed, just a mental breakdown of what is actually happening in a match step by step. Not just the how but also the why. The why is often more important
did we see the same video ? He just said sidewalk left and time it. And the he is only... like this, like this, like this. But he never goes why he move at that moment or why he chose this attack there etc. In this fashion i can coach tekken too. Just time your step and backdash lol. Just go watch some aris videos... this is just terrible. He understands spacing and option selects but tell nothing about it. He will do correct moves to get him into position where he can properly step or backdash etc but will never talk about those moments which are more valuable then just step lol
Already loving the series TMM! 1 hour is quite a long time but I think it's all valuable because you are able to share you thought process during a match, your gameplan ideas, and general insight on your character and the matchups. I'm definitely looking forward to watching you cover other characters in guides like these. I think it'll be a very helpful and exciting series, keep it up Mainman!

I never put specific emphasis on playing to the level of lower ranks to get out quickly and onto the advanced players. Excellent, Obvious yet overlooked strategy. This is going to save me months of unnecessary stress. Many thanks
i didnt think i was gonna watch all of it, but its really interesting. the fact that you started using 1 and 1, 1 was sooo good in these matches. not only because it shuts down a lot of strategies, but also because it sets up vortex and preassure "for free". i wanna go into ranked and try that same thing with devil jin right now. im hoping you do this but with Jin as well, it must be so interesting how you use his moveset, f4 d4 maybe 2,1.... thanks a lot

I have been playing semi-serious since late Tekken 6/early Tag 2 days, and I have been very casual since Tekken Tag 1. I am terrible at fighting games, but I enjoy playing them, and you have helped me improve a lot over the years. Thanks !!
"You can avoid annoying matchups" However, in Ranked you only encounter annoying matchups. And i still have to wait a lot of time for a match. So i basically have to rematch, and even after that there is a chance that they won't rematch themselves. And then i wait for half an hour again

I'm a nobody to say this but I'm gonna say it anyway, in all honesty you demonstrated better understanding than all the other players in the video(we can exclude the drag but he was just trolling cause he recognized tmm by his profile pic), you were willing to try stuff and made some adjustments like throwing some homing moves when he was stepping you too much, you slowed down a bit when he was pressuring more and other few little things all the other players didn't really do even if they were higher ranks so keep it up.
You mentioned AK and I'd love to see that! Have you considered Steve? I struggled a lot with Steve when i was a beginner but he feels almost natural around Fujin, I think that would be an interesting character for this series!
I like the advice when it comes to match ups. Sometimes you just gotta get your ass kicked by a character a few times before you understand what that character is all about.
I really love seeing your arcade stick in the video main man! Since i'm playing on a controller and it annoys me to always be thinking that my imputs would come out much cleaner if i'd be using the stick. So i wished an Arcade stick on this christmas just for Tekken. I already feel that this new series will help me alot! Especially with that cam at your sexy hands. Continue, MASKU EISH EISJ
Dont expect it to be easy either way, ur not gonna get a different controller and play a lot better because of it, lots of practice is the only way, no matter the controller
"Since i'm playing on a controller and it annoys me to always be thinking that my inputs would come out much cleaner if i'd be using the stick" this is a common misconception people including myself have when just starting out fighting games. Trust me when I say that 90% of the time switching controllers doesn't make you better at the game, a pad is not worst than an arcade stick. I am not gonna deny that there are some advantages one has over another: 1. Executing movement using d-pad is much faster as the amount of distance your thumb has to move is much lesser compared to what you have to do on a joystick. 2. Stick is able to have cleaner inputs in the sense that it is much easier to return to neutral after a diagonal input without accidentally triggering other horizontal or vertical inputs in the process. This makes executing moves such as Nina's sidestep cancel much easier. But other than that, it really isn't much different compared to d-pad.
I think you should change your avatar and set your profile to private if you want people to not stress or troll you in this series, I think this drag and Bryan trolled because they saw your avatar
Thanks for these kind of videos, it helps me a lot! Could you please take in consider do this kind of video on Jin? I think it could be interesting due to his versatility.
Thank you for this, I really needed to see this. I’m always trying to enforce 50/50 mixups with Kaz in light blue ranks but the pressure is NEVER respected. I always do much better when I fight higher level players because they actually respect the frame advantage or situational advantage (not always but they understand that attacking from disadvantage is dangerous). I want to play Tekken the “real” way you talked about but I just get blown up by players picking options that don’t make sense to me, or playing characters i am unfamiliar with or playing them in a way that is obnoxious. I still have a long way to go if I can’t shut down mashers, I understand that. But I think I’ll enjoy online Tekken a lot more once I am fighting people who play with LAN connections and actually have a passing interest in frame data and Tekken mind games. That’s where the real fun will be I think:) I always have more fun when I play people in long sets in private sessions, where we can actually figure out our play styles and habits
"real" tekken doesn't mean that the opponent has to respect every single plus frame you have. sometimes it's okay to mash or to make unconvential plays
I finally picked up Tekken 7 after I saw the Tekken 8 trailer in State of Play, and I took my time picking my character and just loved Kazuya too much over every other one. I'm just having a LOT of trouble doing the F NEUTRAL D DF input for EWGP and Vortex, watched every video but still can't do it somehow and I'm getting frustrated :(

Maybe put some replays into it for specific situations? In other sports like basketball replay features and deep analysis are very common. Also in board games like chess or GO they discuss many options at certain points. With kazumi i used the 1 jab strategy very often and even working till purple till they find the counter.
