    Hey guys! I'm new to RUclips creatorship and there's a good deal of work that goes into making these! If you like this style of content or have suggestions please leave them below! This is my first video in this "instructable" style, cutting and editing out irrelevant parts, trying to speak quickly and cover the main topic points, and speeding up segments that have no audio. It'd also help a lot if you hit this link to subscribe! --> bit.ly/2MeFZVf

      I'm in the same boat. How'd it work out for you?

    • @erlefajardo5568
      @erlefajardo5568 4 года назад +2

      @Sunny I did about a week and a half ago. Originally, I was going to wait for someone to supervise me for the first time, but I couldn't wait.
      I have a portable workbench with a couple of clamps that I used to secure my 2 x 4s and made sure to let the unsecured end drop to the ground. Imho, the biggest concern is to not let the wood pinch or wedge the spinning blade. Plus, don't engage the wood until the blade is spinning at full speed.
      I arranged for a Lowe's employee to cut my plywood to size so it would fit in my vehicle.
      Good luck with your project.

      Ladii_Star1011, no you're not gonna get a kickback IF you set your Saw to the proper Cutting Depth, you have to determine and find out how thick the material that you will be cutting before you the cutting, that's why there's a depth adjustment in every circular saws depth adjustments is also one of the safety features of a circular saw.

    • @scottelia8723
      @scottelia8723 2 года назад +1

      also knowing how to clamp your material so the waste side falls is a big know how as well. This is my standpoint. If you are doing mostly crosscuts then I would recommend a 6 1/2 with a blade left design cause it is easier to cut with a rafter square for a straight cut. That’s just my opinion though and I find the 7 1/4 blade right is best for ripping wood as the dust will blow away from you which is a huge plus. Always know the material you are cutting and never force the blade. Let the saw do the work and if everything is done right and slowly you should never have a kickback issue. The only time I had it is when I didn’t clamp the wood right and cut the wood in between the clamps and the saw kicked back but that was when I was first using them. Now as an experienced diyer/carpenter I always like to pass the buck along to the next person to help keep them safe as a circular saw is very dangerous when and not used properly. Always clamp your material and always keep you hands away from any blades or close to the blade. Stay safe and reply I’d you have any questions or concerns

    Thank you for the information. It came in very handy. We have the same saw but didn’t know how to use the settings. Usually all the cuts we did were straight, but thanks to you; we will be using it differently. We are getting ready to put new wooden steps so they will be a huge help.

      Hey, I'm glad it helped! A lot of the information I covered came from a very old handyman book that I keep in the garage. It has a lot of solid information and history about various tools. So this was kind of a hybrid of information from that book mixed with familiarity with this particular saw.

    Excellent video! The lever that locks and unlocks for depth of cut is stuck in the locked postilion. Thought I’d spray some DW40 on it. Should I be worried about damaging something with the WD40? Saw is about 4 months old.

    I've always used a circular saw that had the blade on the left side. I purchased this saw and it cuts on the right side away from me. Which seems safer, but I have to look closer because I can't see where I'm cutting and now I have sawdust blowing in my face. Not only that, but a small piece of wood blew into my face and felt like it cut my chin. Luckily, it didn't break my skin. I think I will have to purchase a dust bag, but not sure I can connect it to this saw. I never expected this, but then again maybe I'm doing something wrong.

    • @thedevcouch9789
      @thedevcouch9789  3 года назад

      Interesting... I've yet to come across a left-blade circular saw. I think it would feel more natural. Then again, would the weight of the saw rest on the side I'm about to cut off?

      Hi! I found this one at a yard sale. Black and Decker used to make these as I remember my dad having a few growing up. I doubt the quality is as good, if they’re still making them. So I would peruse Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp or similar sites to find a used one. Chances are, if it’s old enough, its durable
