Yeah j.c.m, Jake E. Lee is one bad ass guitarist ain't he? If i was a frontman in a heavy metal outfit he is certainly the man i would want as my lead guitarist & i can't believe how DIRTY sharon & ozzee did Jake, they're disgusting AND Jake to me will always be the BADDEST ASS guitarist he EVER had PERIOD .
@@bonichols8511 I might get crucified for this and I'm not saying he's better than Randy Rhoads or anything, but he absolutely brought out the best in Ozzy IMHO. There's a frantic pace to his guitar riffs that created a real urgency in Ozzy's voice that just worked.
The connection between Max Havoc and RATT is David Alford and I started Max Havoc and left to join RATT in about August of 1981. That song/riff was written by Dave, before we moved to California, so it ended up in both bands. Ironically, I wrote Won't Be The Fool when I was about 19 in Florida and Pat McKeon recorded it and never gave me credit. He didn't write a single note or lyric, but I was a kid and didn't know about copyrighting my material. Those were GREAT days. Bob DeLellis
@SabuPtolemy Correct. That is me on lead guitar in this song. I checked my ego and took a back seat to be in a band we thought might get a record deal. Unfortunately, it imploded before that got to happen. I'm still proud I got to play guitar with Jake. He was and still is a great player and there are very few guitar players that ever got to play in the same band with him. BTW, that first photo is Matt and me. We were playing at Radio City. I usually played a late 70's V, which you can see on the stand behind us.

I love 80's metal. Round & Round is the song that made me fall in love with it. Ratt had so many great songs. IMO, they were heads & tails above the rest.
Edward Gaeta being an SD kid, Ratt has always held a special place in my heart. I had a special connection with them though. We lived in La Jolla for a couple years. My mom babysat Warren a few times in the mid-‘70’s. I can’t honestly say we were friends, I was too young. I think he was 7 or 8 years older than me but he was nice to me. I remember hid first band, Plague. My dad was a Mickey Ratt fan so we were thrilled when he joined Ratt. I got backstage passes for a show in the late ‘80’s and chatted with him. He barely remembered me but he sure remembered my mom. His exact question was, “Was your mom the hot redhead that used to babysit me? I remember her VERY well!” lol He apologized because he made my dad blush and told him that he had excellent taste in women.
If anybody remembers MAX HAVOC band from the same days in Hollywood, this is the same song they had on their 1983 album sung by Pat McKeon. the lyrics are only slightly different, changing only verbs but the licks and chorus are the same. I dont know the connection between the two bands or players but I loved both of them in the early days of Hollywood metal. here is the link to the MAX HAVOC version. ( search youtube Max Havoc Angel of Passion) enjoy fellow Sunset Strippers!
Wie geil ist das denn!? Boah, das Teil hätten sie in die Ratt-Zeit mitnehmen sollen! (How hot is that? They should have taken that one to the Ratt-Times)
I’m pretty sure Jake didn’t play on this. The pics are all of second guitarist Chris Hager (with some of Pearcy playing too) who later joined Rough Cutt. Of course Jake later joined Rough Cutt too but it’s my guess Jake isn’t who we’re hearing
@@indian3750 It was kind of a joke from viewing some of the pictures look at 0:49 if that is Jake to the far left he definitely is losing his hair. Many years later on the metal show he just has a little more hair on top longer for sure. He aged fairly well from a few years back video. He was obviously mature, but he was not all shriveled up. He seemed very healthy and not frail.
+LORDGOAT1976 I agree.....the only pic that Might be Jake is with the white flying V.....the other pics are most definitely NOT Jake. Ive got several shots of Jake from that era and he looks pretty much the same as he did in the early Ozzy days.
nothing special, drummer was ok..anyhow who is the guitarist without hair aka kind a bold? I love these old Mickey Ratt songs.
Love the old pics.
Memories. Saw them play at the teen center in El Segundo, 35 people there .. maybe.
Whomever was playing the drums , they were pretty damn good - first thing I noticed about this track.
It's David Alford Who would end up joining Rough Cutt :)
Ratt was always more bluesy, melodic and cleaner sounding then Motley Cru...Ratt hands down!!!

You think you’re tough riffs.
pearcy's voice is atrocious and way pitchy
Well it sounds like he does now!! Lol
I disagree. It's kinda a blues version of his voice.
StandforLiberty absolutely nothing bluesy about it. Very limited range as a vocalist / he sounded ok on some things though
