Wonderful ! Ideal to install to cover some eye sores ,where you can't put fence ,but need little privacy ,or just obstarct something and colors and materials can vary ... It is a great idea ,which would absolutely work fro me ! Thank You ,Guys !
I envisioned something exactly like this for my backyard. Can't wait to get started on it. Only instead of shiny aluminum flashing I will use something dull but colorful because I have artificial grass. I don't need the sun reflecting heat waves on that.
I would recommend/suggest using a fabric in place of the flashing for a look you can better customize. Of course choosing a fabric that will withstand weather should be a major consideration. Just staple it onto the frame and you're good to go! Has the added benefit of being easy to change as your tastes change if you adapt one side of 2x6 frame to be easily removable. Here I would suggest cutting 2x6 at the points where the fabric is mounted (top and bottom) and re-attach with through bolts and wing nuts or simply screw it. :-)
I think they are quite attractive, nice idea to hide trash cans etc, even if they are not your style I hardly think you can call them hideous, no need to be insulting.
I have small grandchildren and the sharp edges on that metal could use some kind of flexible trim to protect little fingers. It's a really great looking project tho.
One other advantage they don't mention here is this screen also calls the Mother Ship home, conveniently saving you time and money on your long distance calls.
I so love these screens, no, they are not totally private, but you would have to be staring to catch a glimpse of somebody dining Al Fresco💁🏻♀️. They are modern and sculptural at the same time, only problem is, somebody got to make them 😏
Like the idea, but think I would use different mats....all I keep thinking about is, when the sun hits that metal it's going to blind you. Not to mention being sharp and getting hot enough to burn you (depending on where you live).
If you look at your quickset instructions, you DO NOT mix it after adding the water, so set your posts while the quickset is still dry, then when your happy then add the water, again look at how much water you need to add (4lt I think??) then do not touch the structure again. by the way I wouldnt use quickset as the strength is half that of concrete and it was break up after a couple of years. concrete is better and usually cheaper.
Dan,, sounds like they have used the treated pine , which is a very common mistake...' Next time replace them with cedar and you will never have that problem or worries again.… Talking with experience, I replaced mine board by board tarting with the top rail....!!!! (Due to the cost !)
Hey There. I absolutely love these. I want to make about 10 of these for my back hill where the new neighbors just moved in. Can you post the exact link to this design?? I can't seem to find it on the website at all. Thanks so much!!!! :) :) :)
Lindsay Walsh you'll find project details including a tools and materials list here: www.lowes.com/creative-ideas/porch-deck-and-patio/patio-hideaway-screen/project Thanks for watching our video!
It looks really nice but that sheet metal scares me. One false move and someone going to get a major skin graph falling on the fence or just cutting their hand....Also i just noticed many people here are saying the same thing.Perhaps put some type of edge protector similar to what they install on the edge of a tub surround.
I like the screen, but I have not the brightest kids running around. It wouldn't take long before one of them sliced their fingers off on that modern sheet metal.
Ned Morlef The Force is strong with you....but you are not yet a Jedi. Build screen for me.....ummm....yes yes...screen for me you must build. That is the way of the Force.
I don't see a problem and though the screen doesn't mean total privacy, such as your neighbors will know you're there, if you want that kind privacy stay in the house or move in the middle of 40 acres.
bedlambikes Jesus you people are ridiculous! Just stop! I have corrugated metal incorporated into my backyard & it's the best thing I've done. It's not blinding anyone & I live in New Mexico...& if your children aren't idiots they won't slit their throats on it so JUST CHILL on these people. They're giving you good ideas. You don't like it? Modify it! Don't waste your time slamming it! All the negativity bums me out so go somewhere else.
wow what a bunch of haters... i this the metal would look cool when it rusts ( hey the little dears are going to get a tetanus shot anyways ) or some oxidized copper would be sweet
Agreed. Why are these little dears stupid enough to stick their fingers inside a metal screen anyway? Barbed wire fencing has been around for 150yrs & many generations have since grown up without losing fingers to it. This bubble-wrapped generation are in for a surprise when they discover that the real world has sharp thorns, pointy branches, hard rocks & metal that rusts. lol

👸I have noticed that these young designers don't know what there doing at all!!!! There is no relation to the to the property, with these no private panels , they have a very modern look and the house dosen't, it looks terrible with the house!!! Cypress would of added privacy without a harsh industrial look, you could also put solar Christmas lights up!
No style, class or sophistication. Looks like another decorator trying to impose their taste onto these poor home owners. And they pay the ultimate price for volunteering to be on TV, and they get stuck with another failed experiment gone wrong.
I agree with pretty much everyone out here, hideous! It provided very little privacy. I hope you kids see what a silly waste of valuable resources this was.
What happens when the sun hits the metal ? I can’t imagine how blinding and hot that could be. It’s a great idea but maybe another texture to weave.

Go for it, Chuck! Some kind of paneling or thin plywood would probably be flexible enough...then you could paint it with some colorful exterior paint!
+Lowe's Home Improvement Thanks, great idea!
It sure would but you have to live with the inevitable, the copper will turn green.
That's the best part of using copper the patina
Charles Brown try some copper.
Love it! I'm going to build a few of these this spring.💯
keep showing the brilliant ideas. learning, leaning, learning and I have all the time in the world,..

could use a fancy printed plastic/window shade too perhaps cut up into strips
or how about even mounting pot plants onto it as an alternative, green privacy
MrJaytech65 great idea. Would love stretched canvas
Weed blocking fabric (heavy duty)
Now this... is the brilliant idea I've been looking for !!!
For the metal problem install some rope lights around the edge and add a plex-E-glass cover to the entire thing.
Looks nice, but the sheet metal is razor sharp! I'm sure there are other alternatives that can be used to weave.
(to chocol8) It functions as as a screen but I would concentrate on the aesthetics. It doubles as modern art for the yard and looks fabulous!
I think they are quite attractive, nice idea to hide trash cans etc, even if they are not your style I hardly think you can call them hideous, no need to be insulting.

No me dejan de sorprender las ideas
I really like this idea. Very creative. I'm definitely going to check this out.
One other advantage they don't mention here is this screen also calls the Mother Ship home, conveniently saving you time and money on your long distance calls.
Maggie Modesti l ogro54
Or to shield you from them creatures getting in your brain and telling you to slay your neighbors entire family in their sleep O.O
Well I like the way it looks.
Nice work!!
I so love these screens, no, they are not totally private, but you would have to be staring to catch a glimpse of somebody dining Al Fresco💁🏻♀️. They are modern and sculptural at the same time, only problem is, somebody got to make them 😏
how about some steel cap safety boots when they use the auger? Sneakers really ?
Quick set concrete put water in the hole. pour concrete in hole, add water to top . No mixing needed. per manufacturer
.

Fantastic idea!!
Modern Creative I Love it
all it takes is a couple of passes with sand paper, and the sheet metal would be fine. it really isn't a very big deal.
Maybe spray paint the metal with a flat spray paint to lessen the reflection from the sun
The metal edges look like they might be sharp edged, and the metal probably gets pretty hot in the sun.
oh yes. my dad was waiting for this
Dan,, sounds like they have used the treated pine , which is a very common mistake...' Next time replace them with cedar and you will never have that problem or worries again.…
Talking with experience, I replaced mine board by board tarting with the top rail....!!!! (Due to the cost !)
Nice ideas, I like them. If you don't care for them, at least appreciate their trying to do something you're not.
That makes absolutely no sense within the context of the discussion. You're on a real trip.
Dwight Hobdy that right sir
depend on how big you want? material? do you want it completely solid of can it be see through>?
I just made one but without the metal. I use lattice instead.
Can you provide a detailed set of instructions? The screen looks great, but the video is too fast and jerky. I'd like actual measurements.
Lovely videos 😀

Thanks for watching our video!
Maybe one on either side of a pergula
Beautiful but sharp edges and wouldn't it attract lightning??
how did you get to make the lumber outdoor friendly? Did you add any sealer?
it was born outdoors :)
So unique!!! Love it!
Best of luck for you beside i will try to use you coop building program
Great way to create privacy in your yard.
great ideas you have!
We had Lowe's to install a privacy fence in Sept 2012.The boards are already warping and coming apart. No more Lowe's for me.
brilliant creations!!
Your neighbors gonna hate you from the reflection of the sunlights.
It looks really nice but that sheet metal scares me. One false move and someone going to get a major skin graph falling on the fence or just cutting their hand....Also i just noticed many people here are saying the same thing.Perhaps put some type of edge protector similar to what they install on the edge of a tub surround.
If you add rubber on the edge of the steel to cover the sharpness will more safe ... thank you its fantastic
Kids don't touch that! It may slice your finger open...
And dogs.
The artificial leaf fence panel is safer for kids and pets.
What is it made out of?
They've got the address beneath video to get the complete instructions.
like those aluminum effects.
Sharp sheet metal sails........high wind.....not good
nice idea
instead of that metal sheeting they could of used tinted plexi-glass.
Is it bendable enough?
I guess Lowe's has too much flashing and 2x6s in stock.
Anyway the sheet metal reflections must be annoying and looks cheap.
I love lowes
love it.
Hi.Could you please tell me how to make a cheap and easy room divider
I like them without all those horizontal pieces across the top.
I like the screen, but I have not the brightest kids running around. It wouldn't take long before one of them sliced their fingers off on that modern sheet metal.
preach it yoda.Women don't speak plural.
Ned Morlef The Force is strong with you....but you are not yet a Jedi. Build screen for me.....ummm....yes yes...screen for me you must build. That is the way of the Force.
Musiccalgary I'm sure your mother loves you anyway.
Musiccalgary Now now, it's impolite to discuss your parent's honeymoon exploits.

Muy importante crecer en conocimiento cada día.
It could look really nice if they're painted first.
That's a privacy screen?!? Your neighbors can see through the cracks and over it!
i know what you're doing behind your screen!
Ned Morlef Yup, bust out the video camera. ;-)
Bryan Paul
I don't see a problem and though the screen doesn't mean total privacy, such as your neighbors will know you're there, if you want that kind privacy stay in the house or move in the middle of 40 acres.
Mohammad Nas
I didnt know Lowes would cut wood for you.
+uk1941 woodcutting is available at most stores; check your local Lowe's for availability. Thanks for watching our video.
uk1941 it's not safe if u have kids they can cut there hands ?
.
so cute

Nice
(con't) and re-attach with through bolts and wing nuts or simply screw it. :-)
Muy precioso y interesante ver al nuestro trabajar.
Awesome
my dad didn't use wood, he used stainless steel
Hard to imagine this in a subdivision. That flashing will be potentially blinding your neighbors daily, not to mention yourself.
claymccrea yeah...
They screen nothing. Looks like some failed art installation !
that's different privacy screens !
Looks like NASA built an antenna array to contact the International Space Station.

What am I doing? *I'm an 11 year old girl, laying on the floor on a Tuesday morning at **2:13** A.M.*
you and buy car door edging off ebay. works great!
Mixing the concrete right in the hole...really?
its common
In my opinion, the sheet metal looks terrible. Not too pleasing to the eye.
bedlambikes Jesus you people are ridiculous! Just stop! I have corrugated metal incorporated into my backyard & it's the best thing I've done. @@lana85290309 LOL the only one who needs to chill is you
Hopefully the metal pieces aren't sharp!!! if you have kids think of safety while they're playing out in the yard... kids touch everything.
DANGEROUS, TAKE THIS DOWN!
My comment also...that sheet metal is going to skin graph someone.
No privacy, and too much work not to mention the cost.
MY word that's Hideous...
Ace Ventura All righty then. Thanks for watching our video.
Hey
+Lowe's Home Improvement dont understand why all the hate. i love them
,msicko records
how to build a wood fence
Be a Good Neighbor.... consider what your neighbor is looking at and do not use redwood... which does not blend in with nature
Eh I don't know. Maybe it's alright for Mr. Miyagi's house.
peladita--easy
$20 gazebo gives more privacy than this... this... whatever this is.
Can't wait to look like a hoarder.

Anybody hear that, its echo I think
Always wear glove, glasses, and construction boots or construction boots
great idea! ... cuihhh..' haram tak elok .. hihi
don't like the metal sheets at all.
So wrong, in so many ways. Lowe's you should have ran this through your designers first.
Interesting idea... But no thanks.

That may be the ugliest thing I have ever seen in a yard.
it's all designed to sell you stuff. However, it is creative. Try copper instead of flashing.
I would be mad if my neighbors did this.
OMG the jerky camerawork on this video makes it impossible to watch.
+Cathy M. really ?? impossible hey ?? you should go to spec savers then.
I like
it's i likee ...you freakin foreigner. Talk like your foreign or assimilate dammit.
Privacy shrubs or evergreens would have looked a lot better than these hideous screens.

Not good
