Knowing how backyard space is a "diamond in the rough" in NYC, you did such great job! It looks phenominial
this is how long home improvement shows should be awesome episode
Thanks Armando! Look for Episode 2 next Thursday.
Armando Godinez ok
@@lowes Lowes should really restart this series! A lot of do-able projects here, love Monica's ideas and enthusiasm.
I love this video!! Just a little tip: For the faux grass, put some gravel underneath to health with drainage.
Love this project! Will try to copy most of these ideas when we update our backyard.
I love the lattice and boards over the ugly old fence
I think I have now watched all the episodes multiple times. Keep 'em comin'. I love these ideas. Not everyone needs, nor wants to do a complete and expensive renovation!
what a great project Monica, you are so smart. Beautiful ending and the gorgeous kids!
I remember once I got one of these videos as an ad. It has been one of the few ads I didn’t skip.
Great job, Monica! I can't wait to see all of the episodes of The Weekender!!

Jaw dropping ideas. Amazing! Love the fence Idea.
The neighbors will be jealous! I wonder what she plugged the lights into.
Outdoor socket
You’re a great host. I’ll have to remember the fence idea.
I loooooooooooooooooooove this, what a fantastic space!!! More of Monica's projects please!!!
This series is just great. 5th episode today!
You don't realize how much you have solved a big part of my small backyard Thank you You Rock!!!
Awesome! Monica is finally back on the air! Yay! (I LOVED her & her friend's Knock It Off episodes!)
Us too! Stay tuned, episode 2 will premiere Thursday at 10am.
Been watching the latest stuff and you've really improved over the last two years. Great work.
I was low key expecting a swing on that branch...
maybe it wasn’t secure
OMG I just started watching you're videos and I'm a fan you make such a great transformation on this house
I do home improvement for a living. I wish I had you in my pocket😊.
You are so talented & creative. Love it! I'm obsessed.
Omg, you did such a fantastic job on the backyard space! Everything from budget to labor was on point!!! Keep up the good work!
GLAD YOU are back ... I loved your first show .... it was great
Thanks Nonnie! Episode 2 will be available next Thursday.
so impressive make over!!!!! the synthetic grass was the greatest idea!!!!
Kids need outdoor activities that encourage activity and exercise, as well having as live plants to interact with. Tic-tac-toe and chalk drawing can be done inside all winter long, and I would gladly give up the fake turf and couch in favour of a sand box, swing, small veggie garden, etc.. The tiny kid space isn't much for three little ones. A bird feeder might have been nice for them too :)
Great job lowe's on how to attract the diy'ers! Keep their imagination running!
Brilliant! I love this concept. Well done.
Thanks Derrick. There's more where that came from.....if you say so ;)
Monica, you and the team truly are genius!
You have awesome mind and taste of style) I like your projects very much) Thank you for sharing)
Great patio redo! Maybe we can do this in our courtyard.
So true the fence looks exspensive....I love it....come on to Kansas to my house....🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🌷🌷💚💛💛
Great job, you nailed it
They should have power washed the wall
i thought she was going to paint the wall.
It's very pretty. What happens when it rains or snows? Turf gets soggy.
Same as dirt and natural grass...
@@elisepaulsen5127 lol
The upper neighbours will absolutely love the smoke of that grill penetrating their rooms in summer.
Love this transformation great job!
Inspiring, great show!
This is amazing content to market your products @Lowe's Home Improvement, good job.
Thanks for your wonderful feedback, Tomas!
Awesome transformation. =) I wish my backyard looked half as nice!
Thanks! C'mon, take a weekend and make your backyard the envy of the neighborhood.
absolutely beautiful!
Can't understand why the dislikes. The BEFORE was horrible.
Love the new fence. Neighbors will be updating their fence lol.
Really looks great.
The kids adorable.
I love all your projects. All functional and beautiful. I am so hooked on watching your makeovers and wishing that I can be a part of those diy home improvement. I wanted to give it a try at my own house but so confused how I can turn it out like you did it. Pls help
This is beautiful. As a CA native, I have one question. Why don't NY'ers put up a faux ceiling/canopy in this backyard for privacy?
That's nice the grass idea is good
Beautiful!!!
Plants!! Jungle plants! Sorry, I live in the south with bananas, gingers, aspidistra which u could totally use there! , edibles...I can’t imagine not having a yard to putter around . Those cinder blocks aged me 50 yrs! I am way too familiar with those monsters. Great job!
How 74 people dislike this transformation? This kids were so happy!😀
I love that backyard! But for environmental reasons I hate turf.
This is great but i got one question. How did u insulate the dirt in the planter do it won’t ruin the fence when they water the plants?
You can line the planter with heavy plastic; put drainage holes in the bottom of the plastic to allow water drainage in the bottom OR leave the plants in large plastic planters, totally hidden by the cinder blocks.
Youre so good!!
Love this Lowe’s about to have all my money lol lol
I AM ONLY A KID AND I LOVE THIS
Woah I just skipped to the end, but thats impressive!
Great show idea. What was used for the back side of the raised planter?
Good question! Here's Monica's response: "We stacked a few extra blocks inside so we didn't need as much dirt and used some scrap wood along the back so the dirt didn't fall through the neighbor's fence." Thanks for watching!
I love love love your show. You are so beautiful, creative and talented. You make it looked fun and easy. I have a few questions for you, how much does a project like this costs in Lafayette, LA? How much is their costs for materials and labor?
I know nothing about construction or anything, but I didn't know that you can nail into your neighbor's fencing! Is it different in different states?
Monica u are a game changer
It’s turned out amazing. You wanna do my backyard next?🤔😂😂
Awesome video
Please show more kitchens. Question: How can a load bearing wall be opened up without tearing it down and having to add a huge beam up in the ceiling? I just want to get more natural light in my house.
What was the backing of the cinder block planter? I only saw three sides.
That backyard is tiny? Where? I live in NY and that backyard is huge.
Exactly!!!
AWESOME!!!! keep up the good work :)
Thank you, Vutha!!
I would love to see a video of sunroom on a budget
Lovely seating area
I recently started watching this reno videos, which are amazing by the way.. came upon this one which is in NYC what?! I need help with my young adults daughter's bedroom what I have tried has not worked in helping them keep their room in order. How do I go about having Lowes home improvement The Weekender HELP ME?????? PLEASE
I was told you can't lay fake grass on dirt, it has to be a stable flat surface ie concrete. Dirt, when wet, becomes mud and will become uneven causing the turf to buckle and move
I really wish you guys didn't show the completed backyard until the end of the show
Nice job except for the “kid-friendly space”, which feels like an afterthought.
how do you do that? You are creative
I wish you could remodel my basement 😩 I am a first Time Home owner and I am dying to remodel my backyard and basement. Every time I go downstairs I get emotional the upstairs I Love. 😞 I need you Monica
What happened to this show ? 😩 I loved this one
Are blocks today still made from cinders ?? I thought they changed to concrete many years ago..
It shows what you can do
You are amaizing
I always wanted a chalkboard for my kids but worried that they will spread it around the house outdoor chalk board is a good idea
Festuca glauca, while readily available at Lowe's, wasn't the strongest choice. Would really have pushed for a Carex in that low light setting.
Love It. Xoxo
Monica: I believe that we can make something great for cheap prices.
also monica: so we have about a hundred cinder blocks, but the good news is that their only like 1 dollar each.
Ummmmm......
good job and nice
what is this music love it
Oh my goodness! How can I have you over our house? Our kitchen is in need of some help. Help!!!!! We’re in a Cleveland, Ohio suburb.
Noooo!!! Without a good foundation the freeze and thaw cycle will ruin the concrete planter!! And the dirt will rot the faux grass carpet.
Actually, cement will last a very long time no matter the weather. Terracotta planters will, however, break after freezing and heat. I make Cement pavers from my large Banana Leaves each fall and after 10 years, my first ones still look great.
The one thing she forgot to do was to add sand to the faux grass to make it look more natural. And unlike the indoor and outdoor turf of years ago, the new turf lasts forever.
What was put on top of the cinder blocks? Is it wood?
Monica used 1x8 boards cut to size. You can find step-by-step project details here: low.es/2afoOQQ. Be sure to watch episode 3 starting tomorrow!
👍👍
Tess said it took 3 years for his, so are there previous episodes and where are they?!
Hi do you have project about loft type small condo my husband want some violet color in living room but its living dining room so im not sure what to do ...
Had it been India, we would have built another room with so much space
Question: Those sofas don't get ruined because of rain?
Sudip Mondal it is outdoor furniture. It's built for weather
You'll notice under the window there's a storage bin. You can store cushions in there.
How can I hire you?
Me to me to
Ex X Zagreb z CPA CPA CPA
who will win? the cushions vs the rain/snow
If winters are harsh where you live you can always store the cushions. Thanks for watching.
I have yet to find the Lowes TV app.
Hi, Simon. Sorry you're having trouble finding the app. You have to be on the 4th generation of Apple TV to access the app. If you are you'll need to search "Lowes" to pull it up. Hope that helps!
They should have spent money to make the fence nicer/ & taller. Seeing the other neighbors deteriorating fences doesn't look good, & they have children.
Neither fences belonged to them but to the neighbors. They could not touch those fences.
