What a fun couple--clearly the design made them very happy! It's definitely not my style, but it was a fun episode and it was interesting to see the paneled fridge options.
I love a neutral/minimalist style, but I was surprised at how much I loved this makeover. When you know what you're doing, find of patterns and colors can compliment each other perfectly. Great job Monica!
I love Monica! She's looking great and the projects this season are so personal to the owners. Love seeing designs that DON'T look like everyone else's for once. Thanks Monica!
So much fun!!! Love that the couple was so willing to do things a bit differently. The kitchen looks amazing!!! It's too much for my personal style but I would love to come over for a party or two 😂
This kitchen is the type that would make you smile every day. Love the color, and I have to give props to Samsung for the amazing fridge. Remember when Korean goods were considered cheap? Now they bring the style!
I love this! I love the way the cabinets pop and the way the dining area reflects back at the colors in the backsplash. I need to see if the curtains in the dining area are available on the website. They are the perfect thing for my slider out to my deck.🌸
Kitchen looks much better in the video than in the thumbnail. The only bit I would change is the scallop around the pantry. I would go ahead and paint the third “side” even though the faux trim would be 90° from the rest. That would amuse me. Love the wood appliqué.
I like a busy wallpaper! Love this couple they were go big or go home! The makeover made them so happy. The hubs didn’t have a problem with pink cabinets at all.😊
I was prepared to dislike the chaos of the bold colors, but I actually found it fun and quite likeable. My only down note is the pink applique on the cabinets. The backsplash steals the show.
What's important is that *they like it. I think it was too extreme. I could handle looking at it until the blue circle edging shapes were painted around the entrance/exit from the kitchen to the other room. It began to look like a circus. The colors were tied together well. It was just over the top for me. But I do enjoy how you are able to figure out personality of homeowners and go with it. You pour so much love in each project for the people.
My immediate reaction would be this is more cottagecore than maximalist but either way, it's cool to see how excited the homeowners are about the design.
I love color. I moved in this home a year and a half ago. Light gray walls and white ceilings and baseboards. I have been paralyzed to paint. And I don’t know why. My last home sold in a heartbeat and it had color.
I bet this couple are gamers. 🤔 The love for color and shape and the wallpaper reminds of a magical scene in a game. I love that they love it together. Couple goals!
personally, I would have loved it without the wallpaper, those things stuck on the cupboards and drawers and that scalloped bit around the pantry doors, everything else I love. As long as they are happy 😁
This is so cute coloured panels on appliances. In Germany this kind of panelling for applicanes is there for probably minimum 30 years. The backplash is really something cool. Personally I find the ornaments on the kitchen doors is too much.
i love most of it , i do wish they would have redone the counter tops because they went so maximalist with the wall paper and color, the countertop now just seems to not match, i would have loved to seen a more lighter neutral countertop or one of the eco tops with some of the blue and green glass flecks, it just seems like the pattern of the stone is competing with the backsplash and wall paper. and i feel like neutral or the eco countertops would go better and blend better. i guess another option would be changing the wallpaper that was just put up because it’s a definite maximalist paper but the backsplash would still compete because the color and pattern of the current countertops i think …maybe i am overthinking-i do at times love some of the maximalist looks these days
Since you asked for opinions, I will be honest. This kitchen seems more chaotic than maximalist. My least favorite thing about this design is the wallpaper. Next is the medallions on the cabinets. Then the color choices that don't work with the countertops. My feeling is that all choices should at least try to work with the coloring in the countertop since that couldn't be changed. I don't think that maximalism must lack cohesion.
I love Monica and this was a fun makeover, albeit not my style. What I don't understand though is the wallpaper backsplash behind the stove instead of tile. Surely that's where they would need tile to protect from stains and splashes?
I love that they love it and being free to makeover anything anyway you like is what's awesome about freedom! It's way too bold and busy for me but to each his own. If they ever have to move in a hurry though, I think it'd be harder to sell. And yes, Lowe's, home Depot and hobby lobby are my favorite stores😂
It took a weekend to create this look. When does anyone have to sell a house in fewer days than a weekend? You really think it would take more time to return their kitchen to mass market friendly? It’s peel-n-stick wallpaper, 4 panels, and some paint. You could even throw some chair covers over their chairs and make them matchy-matchy. Tile could easily be neutralized with tile paint. Painting tile and tiling take about the same amount of time. If you have to sell a house in less than two days, you aren’t going to try to market it to the public. You will be aiming your marketing at house flippers or investors. And for those type of buyers, changing over the kitchen is nothing.
Those frilly/ugly ”ornaments” on the cabinet doors and drawers kind of ruined the whole kitchen… but, then again, I’m not the one who’s gonna live there. I’m happy that they are happy with it.
These colors are straight out of mid-century modern, and they brought in lots of personal touches. What a fun makeover!
Monica looks great like she went on vacation and came back brand new and full of excitement 🎉 @lowes thank you from being Monica back she is a gem
Ohhhh! What a great makeover! I love this couple’s excitement and willingness to go for whatever. It really paid off with a fabulous kitchen! 😊
What a great makeover! So glad there is another season of The Weekender! I love Monica and all that she does!
i know right…seems like i been waiting forever for Monica to come back
Great to see a real home not a bland ‘house for resale’. Live you passion…and re stying is just a paint pot away ❤
We love Monica ❤
I’m definitely a neutral color palette girl, but this was so fun to watch. Monica looks amazing!! Love everything she does
Wow. Wow. Wow. I was a little scared to start with looking at the wallpaper and paint colour. But OMG that looks amazing.
What a fun couple--clearly the design made them very happy! It's definitely not my style, but it was a fun episode and it was interesting to see the paneled fridge options.
Loved, loved, loved. My mom would like those colors in her kitchen.
I love a neutral/minimalist style, but I was surprised at how much I loved this makeover. When you know what you're doing, find of patterns and colors can compliment each other perfectly. Great job Monica!
Absolutely love this maximalist style! You always come up with fabulous designs!
watching the shows gives me great motivation for myself. Thank you!
I love Monica! She's looking great and the projects this season are so personal to the owners. Love seeing designs that DON'T look like everyone else's for once. Thanks Monica!
Amazing! So glad to see Monica back so soon!
My favourite parts are the backsplash, the rug, the wallpaper and the bespoke appliances - well done!
Thanks for sharing your favorites, Tamique! We have to say we're big fans of those as well. 😊💙
Absolutely love this style! So many fun old homes in Philly! You totally nailed this makeover once again! 👏👏👏
Sooo fun! This couple are going to enjoy this kitchen so much! Great job! Monica you look fabulous!
It's fabulously retro feeling. I'm in love with it. Great job guys.
It's the 80s on steroids. I love the wallpaper, but the whole look is jarring.
Omg, Monica, I almost didn’t recognize you. You look fantastic.
LOVE it!!! More maximalist spaces, pleeeeease!!! They are so much fun.
You're so creative..I'd have never thought of doing those colours..wow!!!
Monica you are always looking beautiful but you looked extra gorgeous in that jumpsuit.
They did it their way. Good for them!
This is my jam!!! Love to see color and character!!!
Great episode and the couple were so will to give it a go!!!! They would be great for an other episode doing another room or rooms even!!!!!!!
Agree...such a wonderful couple
I love this! I love the way the cabinets pop and the way the dining area reflects back at the colors in the backsplash. I need to see if the curtains in the dining area are available on the website. They are the perfect thing for my slider out to my deck.🌸
So cheerful, Monica! I love it.
Kitchen looks much better in the video than in the thumbnail. The only bit I would change is the scallop around the pantry. I would go ahead and paint the third “side” even though the faux trim would be 90° from the rest. That would amuse me. Love the wood appliqué.
So beautiful!!!! I'm drooling over the appliances!!! Airfryer mode omg
So cool and colorful! Love these makeovers
Fabulous kitchen design!! It’s even more incredible in-person!! LOVE IT & so happy for you guys!! 🏡
Very colorful! It’s so nice to see a guy embracing this. Guys do usually tend to be more afraid of color (except for blue and brown) 😂
I love Monica! More weekenders please!
I like a busy wallpaper! Love this couple they were go big or go home! The makeover made them so happy. The hubs didn’t have a problem with pink cabinets at all.😊
Us too!
This is definitely not my style but it's the best home owner's reaction I have seen in a while. Greay job, Monica! 🎉
This is quite the eye-popping and beautiful transformation! So fun! Congrats!
I was a little scared but the end product is just wow!
Gorgeous!!!
Monica is looking great!
Even though i Prefer a neutral palette ; you did An amazing job Monica !
Absolutely stunning! 😍
Fabulous kitchen! I went with all-white so that I could accessorize with any and all colors, but this is even better....any and all colors at once!
I was prepared to dislike the chaos of the bold colors, but I actually found it fun and quite likeable. My only down note is the pink applique on the cabinets. The backsplash steals the show.
Love it love it love it love it
I love this…. Would never do it myself but it’s incredible!
Love the kitchen. Only thing I don’t like are the appliqué on the cabinets. But the colors are beautiful!
I agree w you. I grew up w the cheap 70's applique, faking the looking of carved wood. Kinda awful.
Yes, it made the cabinets look cheap,, I thought.
I totally agree with you
What's important is that *they like it. I think it was too extreme. Always love the design of the makeover, hope i can do it on my space too
You can do it!
I bit much for me but am so thrilled to see a maximalist makeover
This was amazing!
My immediate reaction would be this is more cottagecore than maximalist but either way, it's cool to see how excited the homeowners are about the design.
Monica you look amazing...
Awesome kitchen and the appliance option is great! A happy space for an adorable couple!! 👍👏😊
Absolutely love this kitchen
Fun and colorful!! I’m not a pink fan, but it’s still cool!!! Love all the fun ideas you come up with Monica!!
Wow! That will wake you up in the morning. Very different. Not my style, but it was great seeing the happy couple!!
Oooh, I love it! I'm more of a farmhouse girl, but I really love this!
Omg, color infusio😍😍😍 its the frig panels for me and backsplash😍
The Maximalist Kitchen was very nice.
Que bonito!!! It's so nice dare to be different. Nothing bland here .
Monica always looks fab but extra so in that pink jumpsuit 🩷
love this concept, cheerful and stylish 🎉
I love the wallpaper!
Mid century modern meets Minnie Mouse. It is cheerful.
I love color. I moved in this home a year and a half ago. Light gray walls and white ceilings and baseboards. I have been paralyzed to paint. And I don’t know why. My last home sold in a heartbeat and it had color.
Amazing Monica, as always! Xo❤
I bet this couple are gamers. 🤔 The love for color and shape and the wallpaper reminds of a magical scene in a game. I love that they love it together. Couple goals!
They are totally couple goals!
So fun ❤ happy place 😊
Love the design!
I love,love it!!
This is so cool!!!
Wow! That was one espial kitchen! :D I love that they love it! They are the once that should love it! :D
Beautiful!!! It does not appear "too busy" at all!! This is from a person who considers herself a minimalist!!🤷♀🤷♀🤷♀
We love that take -Maybe you are a daring minimalist! :)
Looks great
Always fun to see something different from the usual!
But I'm left wondering why wallpaper and not tile as backsplash for the range?
Love what you did!
personally, I would have loved it without the wallpaper, those things stuck on the cupboards and drawers and that scalloped bit around the pantry doors, everything else I love. As long as they are happy 😁
Need more Jasmine!
Monica! I missed you
This is so cute coloured panels on appliances. In Germany this kind of panelling for applicanes is there for probably minimum 30 years. The backplash is really something cool. Personally I find the ornaments on the kitchen doors is too much.
14:29 i like the idea but the colors are uhh… they like it so that is what matters! How much actual work took to finish everything?
i love most of it , i do wish they would have redone the counter tops because they went so maximalist with the wall paper and color, the countertop now just seems to not match, i would have loved to seen a more lighter neutral countertop or one of the eco tops with some of the blue and green glass flecks, it just seems like the pattern of the stone is competing with the backsplash and wall paper. and i feel

I was thinking the same thing...a more neutral countertop would have really made the backsplash pop..but maybe it wasn't in their budget
@@lukec.9819 yes that is what i was thinking maybe not enough money left
That…was….amazing
Love it.
Love!!!
Wow! I love color too. Not what I would do for my traditional home, but it seems really fun for the right home. :)
Love it & love them that they love this!!
i guess the customer is always right !

Yay for COLOR
Gorgeous
Omg I love it! Very Mr. Kate!
That's beautiful, it's to much color for me. But it came out beautifully.
I love Monica and this was a fun makeover, albeit not my style. What I don't understand though is the wallpaper backsplash behind the stove instead of tile. Surely that's where they would need tile to protect from stains and splashes?
Love it.. reminds me of designs in the 60's
Love love love it. Totally me… PS you look amazing
I love that they love it and being free to makeover anything anyway you like is what's awesome about freedom! It's way too bold and busy for me but to each his own.
