- The most important thing about attracting new players are the thumbnails associated with your game. So what happens when you decide not to make one, or even hire someone to make one? You get lazy games using AI to make images for their games. Join me and Bitti as we talk about 9 games that use this, and how they're good or bad.

Roblox is an online game platform and game creation system developed by Roblox Corporation that allows users to program games and play games created by other users. Created by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel in 2004 and released in 2006, the platform hosts user-created games of multiple genres coded in the programming language Lua.
This video is about playing games with AI images used for their game icons and thumbnails. I discuss how the games that they are used in are lazy, along with the controversial use of them in the first place.
My channel is about taking about various types of Roblox games, with most of them being subpar or in a content farm genre; alongside characters Starism and Bitti going on adventures in several other Roblox games.

IIRC they didn’t originally, they just replaced their perfectly fine human-made thumbnail with AI for no reason.
and they are unintentionally (i think so atleast) starving the artists by using AI lol

I went into one and checks every box with a corporate game
1:AI thumbnail
2: saturated colours a d lighting
3: earpearsingly loud music
4: low porly models
5: a high dislike count
6: has an unappealing corperate essence/aura
7: throw advertisements in your face to spend robux

Super skyward towers is a really good tower of hell inspired game with platformer elements and it uses an ai generated thumbnail… that doesn’t make me like ai thumbnails anymore more though because it’s just flat out lazy.

It shows there wasn't much effort was put into it since they couldn't even bother to make a thumbnail
If they didn't bother putting effort into the thumbnail they sure as hell wouldn't put any into the game
how to know a game is bad:
1. ai thumbnail
2. eggs
3. [blablabla] games
4. "simulator" in title
5. left and right sides are full of buy money
oversaturated or eyestraining colors too
or those games that are “__ experience” they’re like the modern day version or camping clones

back in my days the models were low poly because the rest of the game was so good, and the creator still tried to model something decent, putting soul into it!

Every time I look at AI thumbnails in Roblox, I unironically think of the Glasgow Willy Wonka Experience
Every time I play one of them I look like the depressed orange short women too. (I forgot what they’re called)
That's probably because they also used AI for their advertising
Finally someone talks about the awful AI takeover on Roblox, it's unbearable seeing these dog awful things everywhere, AI Images and AI Voices absolutely spike down the quality of the game, it's sad to see really.
I mean I use ai voices personally to speak for privacy/accessibility reasons but yeah using them in games is kinda eughh

There's even setups that convert what you speak to tts in real time.
I remember watching a RUclips animation that used Ai Voices instead of voice actors, and yet everyone loved and called it “artistic choice”

@@festerma5076 Yea, there were multiple occasions where a youtuber would use information from it just to get flamed in the comments for spreading or using false information
oh don't use it for information either- it doesn't actually know anything. it's just predictive text. it just says whatever sounds like it goes there. no factchecking involved, no searching for information involved. remember the guy that got disbarred because chatgpt cited a made up case?

basically i just copy and pasted all the text and asked it to find [specific piece of information here], and it did it's job well

Finally somebody who agrees. Every time I make a game with my friends they always want to use ai to make the ui or the thumbnail but I always have to push back because ai thumbnails just radiate “I don’t care about this game”
I never understood why people would want to use ai thumbnails, since, it’s just a way for poor or beginner developers to make thumbnails, if you got money or skill, you should make original thumbnail

7:52 Resort Tycoon 2 is based off a game called Resort Tycoon which is basically the same game but it uses an actual thumbnail

Pretty much, the A.I thumbnails can easily tell you that the game developer didn’t really work hard and relied on models when you play it. The overload of game passes might make it uncomfortable and unfair for f2p ;-;

Little kids get fooled by ai thumbnails they don’t know what this game is gonna be good or bad but they play this many times or even gambling these’d eggs for a rare pet.

i just realized a smart idea for those who aren't good at icon layouts: create an ai generated prompt, and then use the general layout of the icon to remake it in roblox studio.

i generally don't interact with anything that uses AI just because it's immoral and i think that's saved me from a lot of brainrot and headaches from these corporate wannabes
I try and heavily discourage people from using AI as i find that when people can make code and art with AI, why bother hiring people or learning how to do that when you can just get AI to do it? They then become jobless, and those passions die out, with nobody able to make a living out of them anymore.

I know this one cousin of mine who went into some brainrot game called circus td(one of those content farms with amazing digital circus). He had 2k robux and spent it all on something called rainbow mega rabbit or smth and then after he rejoined he didnt get the thing, wnd his robux was gone.

I’ve been trying to actively avoid games with ai generated thumbnails, but because of how roblox game previews work sometimes I only see the ai gen thumbnail after I’ve already played it and it’s sitting in my continues and it makes me so mad
I just wanted to say the background you made was amazing. I really hope I can make something like it in the future.

the princess fighter game u played was basically a direct copy of sword fighters simulator which is overly saturated as there’s been like atleast 10 of these games w the same mechanics for 2 years now

Can I be honest? I am obsessed with resort tycoon 2, I literally am addicted. But god I almost cried when they started using Ai. As an artist myself this hit me personally. Like, creators have to understand that if they’re gonna use Ai then they will be seen as lazy therefore, nobody would want to play the game. Sadly, I can and will never stop playing resort tycoon, one of my favorite tycoons tbh…

my rule of thumb is to avoid games that beg me to do stuff. its usually these AI slop games but obbies also do the same. besides begging me to spend money, i get constant pop-ups to like the game, add it to my favorites, or join their group. even when i click the escape key, the game starts pleading for me not to leave yet. pathetic greedy behavior from "game devs" (im being generous... throwing together an. obby with copy-pasted code and UI isnt exactly game development) trying to keep kids playing until they spend money. im not a big part of the roblox community but it baffles me that these people havent been shamed off the platform yet

You can tell if it’s AI because it has that certain style and lighting, not to be confused with stuff like the pretty good Fight in a School thumbnail that had the lighting
I have an idea: Play 5 old simulator games (like Mining Simulator or Ninja Legends) and 5 new simulators (well... Pull a Sword and 259 other games that look and play the same) and compare them.
7:13 I actually played this one and I found out that the game does more than just be a tycoon as you can play minigames and races to help kill time spent waiting for your tycoon to generate more money. The races are mediocre at best. They have a leaderboard so they can be some source of fun while waiting for your tycoon to make more money but while the go-kart and air stunt races reward you for finishing with fast enough times, The boat race rewards you with nothing. The minigames however are mostly miss. The only good one is the skydiving one since you have to go through rings on your way down and it actually feels unique. The rest mostly suck because rather than having unique control schemes they all either have you timing your spacebar presses to set aim and power or spam it to set power. Not only is the game's use of AI look lazy in comparison to the 1st resort tycoon which kept the AI to a bare minimum but most of it's minigames are lazy.
