- What does sugar do to your body and your muscles while or after you workout? Sugar is said to be harmful & to have negative effects on the organism - but what about the effects on muscle gain, growth and repair?
Sugar is said to make fat, and athletes should not consume any sugar - but is that true? If yes, why, and if not, why not? Is sugar always harmful when it comes to sports and building up muscle?
Sugar belongs to the carbohydrates; and ''sugar'' is actually a very broad term. The various forms of sugar effect the brain, body, muscles, even the skin. There are people who praise sugar, others call it poison, but where is the truth now, and what is the truth in regards to muscle growth and athletic performance?
I focus on the effects sugar(s) have on muscle gain and your workouts in general. I will tell you what sugar is and why sugar is not as bad as it is generally said: and when IT IS as bad as generally said!

Marathon runners put sugar & salt on their drinks. Kenyan runners put so much sugar on their tea that the spoon can stand on the middle of the mug. The real enemy of muscle is excess & too few calories.

Just be balanced don't eat too much suger and eat more carbs but both with each other + calculating your calories in take good sleep and consistent training will do the job

when im bulking i tend to eat a lot of added sugar foods to get the calories in, and it always messes up my body and i have to do a cut to get back to my best shape because of the fat gain!!!
