It was a good speech, I think most of the media and people on social media are twisting Butker's words around to make it seem like he meant something else.

Terrible. His mom had a career. Women can have careers today. They don't have to stay home and have babies. It's not the place to tell people his beliefs. Those women worked hard for those degrees.
Did he say all women have to follow the same path? No. He said homemakers are very valuable to children.

He was invited to speak and drew from his experiences. He didn’t say the women in the audience had to be homemakers, he simply said that it is an incredible vocation that without his wife being a homemaker he wouldn’t be the man he is. He's a Devout Catholic speaking at a Catholic college and received a standing Ovation.
It's also quite clear that you didn't listen to his speech and your just Cherry picking his words and taking them out of Context.
What was taken out of context? It was a clear double-standard. If he believes having a parent at home is really important, why was that message only directed at women? There are a lot of households now where women are earning more than men, and it's trending even more that way.

But he didn't say that. He addressed women specifically and told them that they've been lied to about the importance of a career and then praised his wife for being a homemaker. If he had downplayed his own career's importance and said that being a parent is more important than a career, no one would have had a problem with that section of the speech. You're strawmaning the criticism by misrepresenting what was said.

One thing I will address is people pretending he said all women belong in the kitchen. He didn’t say that at all. He said many women may find being a home maker an honorable profession. Nothing wrong with that. He is Catholic speaking at a Catholic university who he said in the speech would be receptive to that message . He was begged by the school president to give a commencement speech that reflected Catholic values and that’s what he did. Also , he was given a standing ovation 👏🏿 at the end of the speech.
The problem that I think most are having is that they are listening to the speech after having already decided that it was evil, bigoted, demeaning and condemnable.
Whether you agree with Catholic values or not you need to listen to the speech with an open mind, in full context and not add meaning/phrasing not expressed in the speech because of your own biases.
Many, including the speakers in this video, have shown themselves incapable of that with this video.

Why do people keep referencing the standing ovation? If someone at a Pride Parade says men can be women and they get a standing ovation, does that make it true? That's such strange logic. The crowd cheering doesn't shed any light on what's right or wrong with what he said.

But the vast majority of Christians of any stripe still believe homosexuality to be a sin - even the Catholics. The reality is that most of what he said are views held by a significant portion of society.
@@joebriggs5781 It speaks to the context of how and why this speech was made. He's a devout Catholic giving a speech to fellow Catholics. It wasn't meant for the general public, nor would he or they expect them to understand it.
He did not ridicule anyone. He pointed out the truth to the young people listening to him. He was very exemplary in his speech.

I would love to see the LGBTQ community go after Islam and the prophet Muhammad the way they go after Christians and Jesus. The disrespectful way, traditional families (the Only proven way, Humans have survived at all) are treated in this country is shameful. We all know that many of the younger generations of American’s are disrespectful, lack empathy and conscience; and that comes from poor parenting. Where I disagreed with butker is that most families don’t have the income to allow one parent not to work. The economy and structure of America place a burden on families or individuals ability to raise children in a traditional way. Harrison butker makes millions and can afford for his wife to stay at home, which he didn’t mention in his speech.
