What are your thoughts on Alex Smith being traded to the Redskins?
The Herd with Colin Cowherd L
Dak can’t be 13th
You talked more about Dak Prescott than Alex Smith
I disagree with your assessment a bit. First off, Kirk is younger and entering his prime unlike the 33 year old Alex. Kirk has 20 more td’s the last 3 years and 2 more 4000 yard seasons with worse weapons. His line doesn’t protect like KC. You also vastly underrated Kirk’s mobility.
Dude you are so wrong on dak you don't him your Bull shitting
I was browsing Patrick Mahomes and RUclips recommended this. Even the computer had enough with Colin.
Back after Mahomes' third ring. I will make a tradition of revisiting these videos after every one of Patrick Mahomes' milestones.
This Mahomes guy sounds pretty good. I wonder how he’ll do!
3 super bowls now!
The jury is still out. When he gets 6 we can start talking about it.
"you can't get to the NFCCG with the 13th best QB in the conference", Colin said less than two weeks after an NFC title game that featured Case Keenum and Nick Foles
To his credit he said "consistently" as in 2-3 years in a 5 year-span but that argument is still shaky given the crazy QB's present in the CG's lately.
Not too shaky it's a lot tougher to keep a defense together over a long period of time than a franchise qb
Case keenum is pretty much 13th best qb in the league
Didn't Rex Grossman win the NFCCG???? So that statement from Colin is null in void
Kirk Cousins carried a decimated roster last season, so underrated.
Agreed
Agree also
W
I really don’t understand the hate he gets from fellow Washington fans
Tbh he deserves a better franchise
Not one mention of Mahomes. LOL. Crazy
Mahomes was back up to Alex Smith in his rookie year, playing only one season game in 2017. No one knew he’d be the next great.
Alex Smith is the best man, coming from a Niner fan from the early years. Hope nothing but the best for that Ironman.
As a fellow 49ers fan, my favorite two things about Alex Smith are:
The win over the Saints... and that he is gone.
Kaep should have never started over Smith, Alex would have won the SB for us!
+Jace Brooklyn I'm a giants fan and I agree with you
But I bet you 49ers fans rather had Aaron Rodgers instead. That was really dumb on the 49ers part in that draft. I'm sure if they can do it all over again they would pick Rodgers over Alex Smith.
He blows... A bust..
Don’t disrespect Stafford like that
I wish the chiefs would have won a Super Bowl with Alex smith.
This dude Colin put Jimmy G in tier One of quarterbacks over Cam Newton and Matt Ryan. Both guys have a super bowl appearance and an MVP under their belts. Jimmy G has 5 wins as a starting quarterback.
I understand that Jimmy G has potential and his upside his bright, but you gotta come at me with more than 5 GAMES. You can’t be serious. You know what...Colin doesn’t surprise me anymore.
7. Two in NE, and 5 with SF, including single-handily beating the Jags and Titans.
This didn’t age well
Cam really fell off. Ryan is declining. But jimmy G got to a super bowl too, although he didn’t have the season they had when they made it
Alex Smith brings more to the table than cousins. When did Kirk become a super qb somebody please tell me.
When did Alex? before this year he never threw for more than 3500 yards.
Well he sure looked like one on Sunday. Dude has out played Aaron Rodgers twice now.
@@deadinizer but rodgers had a sb ring and puts up crazy stats
I love how colins knock on matt ryan was that he had “one good year” but Wentz and Gropeahoe played 10 games and are all of the sudden “tier one QBs” come on colin be more consistent
Tyler W rite
Good point
Garoppolo over Ryan is about the dumbest thing I’ve seen in a while.
One is an MVP football player, the other has played like 7 career games.
It doesn’t age well.
Alex Smith is faster than tyrod taylor....Interesting
KingSavage_Gamin he said straight line speed, tyrod is dusting Alex Smith in a 100m dash lmao
And Cam Newton?
gridion109 Deshaun watson?
I think y'all are underestimating how fast Alex Smith is
Scott Bennici not really. Everyone listed has a faster 40 yard dash time than Alex Smith.
Did he put Jimmy G in Tier 1???nah colin I disagree hardly
Chivv Sensei for real put him over former mvps smh Colin off on this one
Nick Debellis key words former mvps Ryan and newton aren't what they used to be
Did you not watch the last 6 weeks of the season? He's the real deal.
You're right, he's much better than Stafford. Carried the niners the last few games.
xKaiserx0 "few games".. Matt Stafford been playing great for many seasons and Jimmy G had an amazing run but super small sample size
What?!? Garoppolo 5th above stafford newton ryan and alex smith?!? Ummmm how?
ArtRoomProductions because Jimmy Garoppolo the greatest
5000nate right and Ryan Leaf is the greatest QB that ever lived.
That's what I'm saying! Dude hasn't even played half a season. Stafford had more 4th quarter clutch comebacks last year than games garropallo has played in his career. Nick foles had an amazing playoff run and so do Joe flacco but they're not even top 15
The AFC is like the East and the NFC is like the West in the NBA
except in the super bowl the roles are switched
not true at all lol
paramvir b what isn’t true at all?
Jacob because the afc is rigged cuz there’s only a couple teams the league would put in the super bowl in the afc cuz they make up all of nfl ratings
paramvir b why?
Kirk will go to Denver Colin lol come on
I'd say Jets. Jeremy Bates is in the Shanahan coaching tree and was one of the guys super high on Kirk early in his career.
Id take cousins over bortles in Jacksonville
Colin literally later this day tweeted that he’s hearing that kirks going to Denver
Denver also has a connection to Shanahan too though. Broncos still have a great defense and a lot of offensive weapons there, I'd have to think Kirk would pick Denver out of the two unless he's just going to decide based on whoever offers him the better contract.
Nick Furious idk I think bortles bought some respek with his performance against the pats
This is complete garbage. Kirk cousins wasn’t the reason he was swept by dak in 2 straight seasons. The redskins defense is awful. Alex Smith is a GAME MANAGER. U put him on a less talented roster and this is a loss for dallas? Completely ridiculous. He doesn’t have the talent around him to be a good qb in Washington.
Thunder Nation let's let it play out
I wouldnt say its completely ridiculous😂.. but Cousins does turn it over alot and Smith doesnt
Drake Budasz and he’s gotten them
Where since he’s gotten there?
Reece Hill exactly. What u just explained is exactly what I think will happen in Washington to Alex Smith. The defense isn’t good and the ownership in Washington is horrific. The receiving core is garbage and the run game is just as awful if not worse. Offensive linemen are always hurt and this all will hold back Alex Smith from doing anything in Washington
Kendall Fuller was the 7th rated corner in the NFL last year...
Alex Smith is better than Kirk Cousins I think, but this is the same Alex smith that my giants beat without half our roster? Yeah bring that guy in out division twice a year
John Holland didn’t the Eagles beat the Patriots a couple of years ago in Foxboro with Mark Sanchez?
Malevolent Elephant That was Sam Bradford
Trent Dilfer, "Super Bowls are won by smart coaching staffs armed with mature defensive talent."
I agree and that's why Guys Like Aaron Rodgers, Dan Marino, and John Elway have underwhelming careers from a Superbowl stand point.
How is Jimmy Garoppolo ahead of Stafford??
Tiga because he was the closest to Brady's balls. Colin digs it when you are a semon drop off of his "Top Tier" QB bracket.
MIvarsson99 bro had 5 interceptions and 7 tds in those games lmaoooo. That’s a top tier lol.
MIvarsson99 Alex had a better completion percentage than Jimmy G and a better td/interception ratio to his last 7 games than jimmy g last 7 games. Ps Tom Brady had the best qbr throw the last 7 games
MIvarsson99 even better Alex still have a higher completion
Percentage and a better td/int ratio. Brady still have a better qbr. Jimmy g qbr was 78.2 throw those 5 games, Tom was 80.3 throw those games
MIvarsson99 if he doesn’t have the highest qbr he probably doesn’t have the highest passer rating. Bro jimmy g is a good qb and probably the future of the nfl but right now he’s not a top tier qb probably in tier 3
Kirk Cousins is wrongly viewed. Yes he throws a lot of picks but hes been playing with less talent than Alex Smith has had and playing in a tougher conference. Cousins' arm strength is also great and he can make plays in the pocket.
Javon Funchess bro Alex took over a 2-14 team and took them to the playoffs 4-5 years. Washington has Two really good TE one of which had his bests season when Alex Smith was throwing him the ball. I am telling you if the skins can get one possession receiver like Jarvis Landry they will make the playoffs with Alex as the QB.
The AFC has a lot more powerhouse teams whereas the NFC is a more even playing field. Smith and Reid transformed the Chiefs into a top AFC team and yet the only thing positive about the Redskins this year was that they were able to out play a Giants team who even questioned benching Eli Manning.
And redskins traded away there ebst defensive player this year
MICHAEL DURAN Vernon Davis is old now.
Lol Alex Smith went 0-6 in the Playoffs with Chiefs just hilarious
It's kind of funny to hear journalists etc talk down on A. Smith, but players and coaches that have actually been teammates or coach him have nothing but high praise for him.
Dwayne Walker Alex is a professional. Alex is a great person
Alex is a game manager. Period. End of story
I love Vick as a player, but..... Smh not an analysis
King A I can listen to him more than kristen or tony g.
Are you outside of your mind. How is Jimmy Garoppolo ahead of Matt Stafford. That is ridiculous.
This didn’t age well 🏆🏆
How you put russel wilson and carson wentz over drew brees wtf🤔 this is from an eagles fan too.
I’m a 49ers fan and I never thought they should have started Kaep over Smith. I wish Smith never got traded but I was happy to see him succeed in KC. KC just made the same mistake the 49ers did going with the young gun and I hope they pay for that. Alex will thrive in Washington! #go11
Jace Brooklyn but kapernick was a great QB has 4 playoff wins Alex Smith has 1 bigg deference lmao
Jose Velazquez I believe Alex would have finished the job and won the Super Bowl unlike Kaep who choked.
You're nuts. Mahomes will be an Aaron Rodgers type in the AFC. The best qb prospect in the AFC since Big Ben and Andrew Luck
I’m a chiefs fan and the dumb fans in KC are to blind to see how he helped turn our team around
All Alex Smith does is choke. The Niners were killing NYG the year before but Alex Smith couldn't hit a WR to save his life. Same thing this year against Tennessee. A tiny semblance of pressure, Alex Smith takes off and runs right into a sack.
Now that Alex Smith is gone Andy Reid doesn't have any excuses to not win a Super Bowl
NOPE. Quite the opposite. He had zero excuses to not win a Super Bowl with Alex Smith. That was super doable and he failed miserably because Reid is a choke artist.
Eat Crow
Andy gonna win at least 3 Super Bowl with Patrick Mahomes
@@basman9560 Aged like fine wine
@@TheGeorgeD13ok
Alex Smith is a solid qb. I hate how the media portraits him like a bum.. the guy has a 2 to 1 career touchdown ratio and he’s mobile!
ChangeHumanity he used to be mobile. After his concussion he went from running 450 yards a year to less than 150
He is mobile doing happy feet In the pocket
And his ration. Please. Outside of last year he had the lowest attempts and completions behind 15 yards
He plays too safe.
"NFC quarterbacks" 😂
Mitch Trubisky over Case Keenum? Colin Cowherd should be disqualified from talking about football
It doesn't make sense I agree with you
Case Keenum might not even be good next year
Jason Collins Jr. You could say the same about Mitch, Case looked 100% better
Jason Collins Jr. Mitch Trubisky might not even be good. Ever...
Put Mitch on that Vikings team. Vikings could've won with 3 average qbs on their roster
“He doesn’t push the ball vertically” but Alex Smith led the league in passes over 50 yards. And led the league in passes over 30 yards with 16. The most by any QB in 13 seasons. Okay Colin... okay
I just stumbled onto your RUclips channel. Let me preface this by saying that I am a lifelong KC Chiefs fan. As a guy that has watched Smith closely for 100 Sundays, I can tell you that he has to be the most overrated QB in the league. The narative, nationally, seems to be that he is a top 10-12 QB. He's 15-20 at best. He survived off of Andy Reid's scheme and play design.
The Chiefs were having a moderate amount of success while Smith was here DESPITE a subpar pass offense. I've never seen a QB leave as many points, yards and production on the field as Alex Smith.
But when a team wins 10-13 games every year, people attribute that success to the QB by fiat. It couldn't be less true in the case of Alex Smith. Smith doesn't lose games for you, but he doesn't WIN them for you either. In my opinion, that's what you expect from your back-up QB. The standard for your starting QB should be much higher.
Mark Bishop III mahomes
Congrats the trade worked out lmfao
13 years people THIRTEEN years. No QB has thrown the ball deep more or better than Alex did this year in 13 years. He can throw deep he just didnt throw deep to Dwayne Bowe. Alex gets his playmakers involved and does what it takes to win.
I don't think that Alex Smith is "better" than Kirk Cousins, I believe all the contract disputes just eroded the relationship and the Redskins, wanted to move on from that, got a good QB and saved money...smart move? Have to wait and see...
Browns were going to try to get Alex Smith to start before the new #1 draft pick QB. Now they will probably settle on Josh McCown or Cousins to play that role. Damn, Smith would have been perfect for the Browns need.
I'll take McCown back. We should have kept him last off season. Cousin is just not worth it.
Paul Baker i. agree I know I’m late to this comment section. But I thought Alex would have been great with the Browns. Let him show what it’s like to be a professional QB. Let mayfield learn like Patrick did. But Alex is not a tier 1 guy
Kirk cousin is a good quarterback which is rare in the NFL the redskins will regret this
mikeframbo ig No they won't, he's 30 and throws picks constantly.
No, they won't. They'll get to the playoffs at least with Alex Smith. Alex Smith is a QB that'll consistently get you to the Playoffs. Kirk Cousins is not.
George Daugherty They had pretty much identical stats this season. The chiefs don't make it to the playoffs because of Alex smith. They make it to the playoffs because they have good offensive and defensive units. The redskins defense is terrible which is why they don't make it to the playoffs. And adding Alex smith who is a clone of kirk while losing assets isnt gonna help them make it to the playoffs next year.
Boxing Resistance He had 27 TDs and 13 ints which isn't terrible
Smith didn't throw as many picks as Kirk he's better I think
you need to chill on garoppolo. he ain't tier 1 right now
Redskins fan here. Smith had better weapons in KC than Kirk had here so that has to be acknowledged. While Kirk's overall career interception stats are very misleading; i.e. most of those were from his first year as a starter when he was a turnover machine, he still sometimes gives up big plays whereas Smith doesn't. But is Smith worth what we gave up to get him and what we have to pay him? I was so disturbed by what I saw coming out of preseason last year that I adjusted my prediction to 7-9 for the year but it had NOTHING to do with Kirk. I don't think adding Smith will make it much better.
Steve W stays misleading ? He’s with Minnesota now and still giving it faster than a drunken cheerleader
Dam. I haven't heard cowherd in years. This brings me bacl
Hard to throw interceptions when every other play is a bubble screen..... 3rd and 18? BUBBLE SCREEN!
Alex Smith is solid but he let's you down when you need him the most. He likes to panic in the pocket. He was a little better this past season but watch his eyes when the pocket starts to hint at closing. Loses all vision making him miss open receivers that are beyond 5 yards.
ps. bubble screen rarely worked and they never tweaked it...
MonsterChuck Other than his latest seasons with Tyreek Hill, when has Smith had an elite receiver in his career? Even Tyreek Hill Im not willing to call elite yet, tho hes obviously elite at getting downfield
I think the Redskins downgraded, Kirk Cousins is better at throwing the ball down the field and making big plays. Alex Smith is a game manager.
Ask tyreke hill if Alex smith can throw the ball down the field.
Ask any NFC defensive back who they liked most on the opposite side of the ball.....
Kirk.
Drake Budasz cant even say that. Cousins only had like 50 more yards than smith
Alex Smith had the highest qbr on deep balls last year. And highest qb rating overall in the league last year. He can ball
Alex had the most deep yards, most deep completeions, most 20+ air yard throws, most 50+ yard TD's. And STILL had less than half of the INTS's of Kirk. You have zero credibility.
I watched the Redskins vs Chiefs 2017 game and Alex Smith came back with determination and Chiefs won by a sliver !
The Skins defense hit the Chiefs silly but the Chiefs showed toughness and Alex was the leader and ran excellent all day because the skins defense were tough too move on !
"Fastest straight-line runner" is code for "white runner."
That Jimmy G tier one is not aging well.
Alex smith isn't strait line faster than Russell Wilson...
Brandon Choran lol that's what I was thinking..
Or Tyrod Taylor
Or cam newton I’ve got no idea where Colin got that 1 from
yes he is, look at the stats.
Elton R what does that have to do with anything
Matt Ryan is in Tier 1 you Falcon hater. He was the MVP a year ago
Kieran Welch And he blew a 28-3 lead with 5 minutes in to go in 3rd in the SB. Matt Ryan is not a tier 1. He's not elite
Not true Colin. Ravens won title with Ty Detmer. Easily a QB outside the top 10 in the AFC. Nobody had Eli Manning in the top 10 either time they won the title. Nobody had Joe Flacco in the top 10 when the Ravens won the 2nd time. Peyton Manning wasn't even playing like a top 10 QB when he won in Denver.
Brandon Jordan It wasn't Ty Detmer it was That bald headed guy who works monday nite football for espn. Trent Dilfer
Karo French good catch. Thanks for the assist
Ty Detmer wasn’t their QB!!!
all i know is the chiefs won the trade with a starting corner and 3rd round pick
Jesus loves you
Jimmy Garroppolo over Cam and Matt Ryan 😂😂😂😂
I was with you until you said Smith is better than Cousins...
Im guessing you looking from the outside ..Im a washington fan kirk isnt that good people just looking at the numbers ..alot of gargbage time stats...he decent but he is not a winner cant finish, cant convert 3rd downs, always throws picks at the worst time.
JRA58 I see those frustrations as rational, but didn't he lose 3 linemen long with Pryor, Jordan Reed and his top two targets Jackson and Garçon leaving in free agency? Poor running games the last three seasons and the 28th, 28th again, and 20th ranked defenses 2015-2017?
+Romain i mean, when kirk had d jax, garcon, and reed the results were the same when he didn't have them in the stats and the win column. He didn't perform at all when we needed him in big moments and late in the season. Every single time we were in a must win situation to go to the playoffs he presented us with sub par qb play against teams like the chargers and giants. he has produced more late game interceptions than late game winning drives also. can you possibly win a superbowl with him? yes, but you can win a superbowl with alex smith too. They are close to the same level as far as passing, but alex smith has wheels and can create something huge out of nothing so he edge goes to him.
Justin Purcell but why was Kirk always in that situation? He was working with the 28th, 28th, and 20th ranked defenses. They couldn't stop any body.
alex smith was in that situation a lot and he didn't throw costly picks........... point is, cousins was put in a position to win the game late on a lot of occasions and faltered (no matter the defense, if you have the ball late to win the game it is out of the defenses hands right? so defense has nothing to do with this conversation). alex smith didn't falter until playoff time, but he played well enough when it counted to get to the playoffs. you are talking like alex smith never had to win the game late lol he did A LOT..
brees at 4? would still put him at 2 even tho I'm a hawks and wilson fan
He definitely needs to be in the top 3
I might agree with that but I am not sure how good brees would have been for your team this season. With their weak line they needed a mobile QB.
wilson is the best qb when it comes to playing without an O-Line only rodgers could have had maybe the same impact, but with a good O-Line brees is better than wilson or wentz
you put Case Keenum below Dak Prescott, yet how many playoff games has Dak won? oh yeah ZERO, the that trash out of here.
Dak is clearly better than Case Keenum...
I think Andy Reid is what made Alex Smith good, I think Smith won’t be as good in this trade
Dak Prescott temporarily the 6th, yes 6TH best NFC East QB
I agree. It is pretty sad how so many delusional cowboy fans think how special he is but can't realize that the Eagles backup is better. Once the Redskins get rid of Cousins he will jump right back into the top 5 though. That is until the draft happens.
1. A-Rod
2. Brees
3. Russell
4.Wentz
5. Jimmy G
6. Stafford
7. Matty-Ice
8. Cam
9. Dak
10. Goff
11. Smith
12. Jameis
13. Eli
14. Keenum
15. Trubisky
That is a really bad list, except for the top two
DarkLife 3074 Haha he left off Brady and Roethlisberger must be a Ravens fan.
Are you the GM for the browns?
Mike Ansley they are all NFC QBs that's why he didn't rank Tom Brady and Big Ben. He did his top 15 for the NFC. Why he didn't do 16 is beyond me.
Tyrone Brown III Eli over keenum???
Looks like Cousins is going to Denver or maybe Arizona
Cousins to the Patriots, trade Brady to the Browns. See what a 23 million dollar per year QB can do on a good franchise, lol.
Mahomes was the real winner
The Chiefs are going to regret getting rid of Alex Smith just like the Niners did
Eddie Patterson as a chiefs fan, i agree. Most fans think alex was the problem. He wasnt. It was andy reid, he didnt know how to handle him
KCkoolaidking Getting a good to great cornerback, a third round pick, and cap space for either a great offensive lineman or another pass rusher. As a Chiefs fan I am optimistic on this trade.
Eddie Patterson, why would the Chiefs regret it? The Chiefs had one more year on Smith's contract for 17 million. Last year they traded up to get a QB they put the highest on their draft board. It was either pay Smith one year and get nothing for him after one year or trade him and get a few things they can use now as well as shed that money and maybe pick up a FA on Defense.
The Chiefs know they are not going to make the Superbowl next year, but they aren't tanking either. They wouldn't make it if they paid Smith either, so they chose to get a few pieces and open up some cap room to make decisions for the future. Plus an upcoming CB and a 3rd round pick, which was where they got Kareem Hunt last year. Take that into perspective.
The whole Chiefs personnel moves this past season is baffling to me as a 50 year veteran of the Chiefs Kingdom. Reid is a west coast offense guy, but we move up to get a gunslinger armed QB because Reid wants a rocket armed deep ball QB to run his dink and dunk offense? Then we release our only true veteran WR. The west coast offense needs two play making WR and we start the season with maybe one who is unproven as a WR. None of our draft picks were supposed to be impact players. The only reason Hunt got his numbers was due to the injury to Ware. Then we fire our GM. So now we trade Smith, the consummate west coast offense QB, and we're gonna play Mahomes, the gunslinger, in the west coast offense with Reid's conservative play calling? Makes no sense to me.
I do like the fact we're getting a stud slot corner. We were atrocious at covering anybody last year. I hope Mahomes is everything Reid thinks he will be. The real question is how will the play calling change?
I think they're going to regret it cuz it's hard to get a good quarterback and I don't think their backup is that good
people often put smith in the category of "game managers" but I think he was just stuck in andy Reid's system. Plus he put up some leagues best numbers with one of the worst defenses in the league. I think smith out weighs cousins by a good amount but mainly just because of experience.
Kirk Cousins is the most underrated QB in the league. Give the guy a team around him and an organization that believes in him and game on.
Cousins did the best he could with what we had. I enjoyed his time with my team. I wish him success with the Vikings. My favorite moments having him is the 'you like that' game and the pro bowl when his pass was tipped by Jimmy Graham and intercepted and he almost runs it in for a pick six but Cousins runs all the way down field and knocks it out of Talibs hands. #HTTR
To say I disagree is an understatement. Look at the talent that Smith had in KC, compared to the talent that Cousins had in Washington. You're then gonna say that Smith is better than Cousins? Give him a really good offense in either Denver or Cleveland (If Cleveland gets some WRs) and then we'll see who's the better QB. This should be one for the C'mon Man segment.
In 2018 Colin said every team in the NFC starts the season with a franchise QB. IN 2023 that was true not of the NFC but of the AFC.
I disagree fundamentally with Dak being 13 best QB simply for the fact his offense was a lot more predictable this season with Elliot suspended.
I would not even put him that high. I would put Foles, Bradford, and Bridgewater, above him as well. I would even put Cousins ahead of him as well but not sure how much longer he will be in the NFC.
Cousins and Smith are the same. I am shocked that Colin didn't bring up his divorce, branding, or Silicon Valley. Weird.
Clippers and pistons: this trade is terrible for both of us nobody else could make a trade this bad
Chiefs and redskins: hold our beers
Wølfpacked22 how is this trade bad in any way for the chiefs?
brandon wheeler how? because Alex Smith was literally the reason they even made it to the playoffs
@@Patrickstar12346 This comment aged well
I demand respect for Eli!!!
He threw 27 interceptions in one season...
Matt Del Santo lmao
Why he is just Joe Flacco×2😂 Good in playoffs when they have historic/dominant defenses but absolutely trash every other time lol
Matt Del Santo where was his o-line where was that dominate defense you cant put the Ls only on ELI.
if it was the past maybe
Why he keeps saying he doesnt have a big arm and can't throw deep balls when he lead the league in deep ball.
The NFL seems to think Alex Smith is better than Kirk Cousins. Statistically he not better but the one thing he does have is 7 straight winning seasons and 4x10plus win seasons. Cousins has 2 winning seasons and never won more than 9 games.
That's where the term "game manager" comes from. I'll take a winner over a stat suffer every day.
Eli Manning above Dak... WTF Colin. That Tier 3 needs to be fixed.
That crazy the 2 teams with Native American logos switched qbs
Whoa whoa there Colin easy on calling jimmy g a tier one. Let’s give him so time.
The cowboys ain't got a chance against Alex.. Raider fan
It was a great day!!!
Biggest question I have is why is last season the only one that counts stats wise in his career? It was an outlier and without an elite running game or defense you will not win with Alex. There is a 5 game stretch in the 2017 season that shows that. Why do organizations keep over paying for average to slightly above average QB's. Draft a young guy and build around him. Otherwise your franchise will just stay stagnant.
The 4 remaining QBs in the Championship games: Blake Bortles- tier 3 imo but I’m a jags fan. Brady -goat, Foles - not even listed but tier 3 and Keenum- LOWEST ranked qb in the NFC. What r u talking about Colin??
"I know him real well" "being around him at least...7...15 days in training camp" LMAO, nice Mike!
Did Andy Reid just clear up space for Nick Foles?
Cam Newton is a tier one quarterback
Before Carolina lost Super bowl 50 he was since then he has fell off the cliff hard
Garoppolo over Stafford!?
Alex tier one not his fault his defense couldn't do their job
Jose Ramos wtf Alex is a game manager. Tier 1? Any an can have a good season. What’ a joke
Although I disagree with a lot of this as a chiefs fan, I know how trash Alex smith is, I like how someone is finally giving the credit Dak deserves. He tries really hard to suck and no one ever talks about it. Thanks Colin
So when the NFCE sweeps the Skins I can’t wait to hear Colin going back on this take
You're smoking if you think Dak Prescott is a tier 3 quarterback. We've seen him routinely go toe to toe with the best QBs in the league throughout his career.
Dak had an off year with better stats than Goff , not saying he's elite but he's worth a tier two consideration.
Winning with Alex Smith is 100 percent doable if Washington can keep healthy defensively and get another good receiver maybe 2 this team is gonna be really good.
His top 5 qbs in the NFC in 2018 is trash now.
I'm Sorry. This is the PROPER list:
1) Rodgers
2) Brees

The ones with the asterisks are the ones that are based on this year's performances, the rest have proven who and what they are (I'm a little shaky on the Goff or Smith situation), but I still think everyone with asterisks needs to prove their spots on the list. That's what I'm going with right now though.
He isn’t particularly fun to watch but he is a very good QB
How do you put Jimmy Garoppolo at 5 never really played a full season
The disrespect to Matt Ryan and Stafford
I think we are doing alright in 2021. From the future-stock up on TP and invest in industrial cleaners and hand sanitizer. Also-Tesla.
Hey Colin, didn't Alex Smith lose to the cowboys and Dak with a way better roster in KC?! But dallas will have a problem with him coming to a team that's less talented. These are words coming from a skins fan
Who knew a 'Boys and skins fan could agree. Everything he said was crazy. I had ALOT of respect for Cousins. I alw always clinched up when he was in the game. Colin is WAAAY under rating Cousins with that far worse roster and organization. Alex was playing with ANDY REID. Andy can make any QB look good. And Dallas shook over a QB situation? Is he serious?
Neil Pisarri even if that is the case which I don't believe, his roster with the chiefs are undoubtedly better than the redskins roster which furthers my point. Kirk wasn't the problem. I'm not upset about the move other than getting rid of Fuller because Kirk didn't want to be there anymore. I hope I am wrong about Alex Smith but after 13+ years of seeing Alex Smith it's hard for me to see him differently
Neil Pisarri I am a redskins fan and I am very familiar with the roster. We don't have a legitimate number one option outside of the injury prone Jordan Reed who missed most of last year which is why I didn't even mention him as a weapon because he is rarely available. Terrelle Pryor was a big disappointment and he didn't live up to the expectations with us. He was forcefed the ball in Cleveland which helped to pad his numbers but the offense that we run spreads the ball around in which Kirk was effective. Crowder can be very productive in the slot but needs to have a true number one or just someone to help open the game up for him to flourish. (Side note) One can argue that he blew the 2nd game against the cowboys for us by dropping a pass that was caught for an interception on a potential scoring drive and by fumbling a punt which put Dallas in good field possession to score. Vernon Davis is a savvy vet that is useful but he isn't a threat at this point in his career. It is evident that Alex Smith had more weapons at his arsenal point blank period. Kelce is the best tight end in the league and the speedy Tyreke Hill helps to open it up for other receivers the same way DJax did for the skins receivers 2 seasons ago, and Kareem Hunt lead all rushers in yards last season. You mentioned Kareem hunt having a bad game but I'm quite sure that's a big reason Alex Smith found success in the air that day do to the fact that Dallas had to key in on Hunt and wanted to make Smith beat them by crowding the box. Dont get me wrong Smith had a good game but couldn't get the job done either. Kirk has not had a run game whatsoever since he was officially named the starter in 2015. I think that Alex Smith is a reliable starter but I just think people are getting carried away by saying he is better than Kirk and need to really evaluate their respective situations as a whole. I would give a slight nudge to Kirk but I would be lying if I didn't say they are more even than anything. Neither one of them is clutch and are not able to put the team on their back. Let's not mention the one year when it practically took a whole season for Alex Smith to complete a touchdown pass to a receiver which is telling of his ability with limited talent at WR.
Neil Pisarri you dug up the stats lol. I hear you though and hopefully he does pan out for us. Don't like giving up our young promising DB though. I can't argue those stats you mentioned but the Eagles are looking like they are going to be on a run for another 2-3 years. So the front office is going to really have to build and develope a team which they have done a poor job the last 2 decades plus
Mickey James as a Chiefs fan I can tell you for a fact alex smith was not the problem
