He was sick and emaciated plus he'd lost the end of a couple of toes to frostbite. But he went on to live an amazing full life. I'm fortunate to have him and my mom still with me. They've been married 75 years.
Wonderful! My father made it to 100 years, 2 months and 13 days and died 2 years ago. He was proud of his service. It’s sad, but my mother died in 1993. Praise, gratitude and love to all our WWII Veterans!! My dad was a pilot. He loved flying the P51 Mustang. Also flew the mighty B36!!! He passed away 6 years ago. My heart will always be with him....and all our brave Veterans, no matter their color or position!! An amazing generation who loved their country more than life itself! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We won't let you down!!! God Bless America!!! Now and forevermore!!!❤🇺🇸
I wish that the current generation felt that pride for our country. Lord help us if WW111 breaks out. My Great Uncles and two Great Aunts fought in WW11. 3 of them were decorated heroes. They were proud of our country and said that they would fight again if they had too. Unfortunately all of them are gone now, but they will never be forgotten nor will all of those who have served before and since. They all deserve our deepest gratitude, no matter color or rank.
THAT was soooo beautiful......your harmonies are magnificent!!! You 3 have such beautiful voices!!! Thank you so much for this tribute!!! My daddy was in WWII as well!!! ❤
Such a great generation! We should all strive to be half that they were. My grandmother was a fine example of a matriach, always there. My grandfather was such a hardworking, humble man.
Hi. Thanks to your Dad. May God bless his soul and his family, all of you. My Dad was also a Master Sargeant who served in Africa, Sicily and Italy. Both of his parents back home in the States died while he was over there fighting. He was not able to return home for their funerals. He also lost friends over their. He was in the Army. My Mom was an Ensign in the Navy. She died young. I miss them both.

A special thankyou from New Zealand to you as you represent your father, a hero. Many young New Zealand men fought in those places. I acknowledge the appalling situations they lived through...if lucky. Lest we forget.
Growing up in the 60s and 70s, WW2 veterans were my teachers, little league coaches, Boy Scout leaders, community organizers, dentists, local firemen and police. They were my uncles and grand uncles, my friends' fathers and my own father. Expressing sadness and gratitude at their passing is exactly right.
Amen, Sir! Same here. My Dad fought aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex in the Pacific during WWII. I salute them all and miss them greatly. Marshall in Oklahoma
My great grandfather was in the Navy at Pearl harbor when it first went down I don't know how he survived all the entire war but I'm glad too have met him when I was a child thank you all for literally everything
Please don’t forget us more than one million black Americans fought in world war 2! My dear dad was one ! Many never returned home ! I was fortunate that he was a proud survivor !

This is beautiful. My dad, who passed in 2008, served in the US Army Air Force in WWII. Thank you, and may God bless you for doing this. I am fortunate that my father came home after the war. So many did not.
Thinking of my Dad who went directly from medical school to serve as a medic in WW2 to help many a wounded vet on the battlefield - maybe even some in this video. Thank you to every service member who gave of themselves so unselfishly in their service to our country. 🇺🇸 ❤🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
My husband's uncle, Claude Eugene Doty, paid the ultimate sacrifice on Nov. 20, 1944. Though we never met him, we still honor him to this day. Thank you for this very moving tribute and thank you to all who have served our country.
To all the men and women that served we owe you such a debt of gratitude you put it all on the line for our freedom and a better way of life and all I can say is THANK YOU. My father was in the war and my mother helped build parts for the aircraft all pulled together
Your beautiful video and song tribute was released today (5/18/24) which is Armed Forces Day. My dad and his identical twin served together in the Navy in WWII. Fittingly, Dad was buried on Armed Forces Day (nine years ago today). God bless all those who served in WWII and those still here to tell about it. You are appreciated, remembered, and loved.
I'm a Vietnam vet, not a WW II vet, but this song touched me deeply. Thank you for making it available like this. I can't tell you how much that means to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Grace and peace to you as you serve in this special way! The Lord has blessed you with beautiful voices and with an amazing ability to harmonize.
This is such a beautiful tribute to those who served in WW2. My Dad served and came home safely unlike so many others. Thank you 3d for this and I'm sure the families of those who are gone will be greatly blessed. I know I have been. God Bless you all!!
When I was 12 years old, i played bugle in a drum corps. The local American Legion Post asked me to play taps at a soldier's funeral. Then they asked if I'd do another. And another, and another. Some of those being laid to rest were veterans of the Spanish American War. Some were veterans of WWI,. Others were veterans of WWII, and the Korean conflict (this was the mid to late 50's). To happen upon your tribute this evening has filled me with rememberance of things past. I cannot thank you enough for this amazing acknowledgement of the average person who, when called upon, answers. Billy Boyd's tribute to the Tokien's epic stories was the perfect choice for the music. Thank you, and thank you to the veterans, one and all...
My father served in Europe, specifically Germany, after the war and to his grave never spoke of the attrosities he witnessed. Thank you for honoring all our heroes in such a beautiful way
This Song brings back my father's face. He Served in Korea "The forgotten War" and has since passed. Our Greatest Generation is passing, and I hope our Country remembers them. Love and Miss you Dad.
Pressure makes diamonds and that war produced many. I have been blessed with many of those diamonds shaping my life and remaining in my heart. With tears I say thank you.
THANK YOU! My dad was a young Captain in Burma when he was KIA. I was 2 & never saw him after I was 11 months old. I am very proud of you 3 for your touching & beautiful remembrance of all who served & were called "The Greatest Generation" because of their loyalty to & passion for their country! So many young people have no understanding of the price that bought the freedom they have today. And none have any idea of the price paid by the families of these men & women. They lost far more than a brave & loving parent. They lost a vety large part of their lives, also.
Beautiful............My great Uncle James Richard Hawkins died in this war. He was a fighter Ace. His time was up and he decided to re-enlist, sadly his first mission, he was shot down.............Some gave all...............Salute!
God bless and we thank the brave men and women for honor of america and saving freedom and peace of the world.. You are our heros forever and unforgettable.
That had me crying. I remember seeing a statistics a few months ago about how few ww2 vets are left and was thinking when I was a kid it was the Spanish American War vets they were talking about. My uncle Billy served in ww2. He was 15 yrs old. God bless all of them. And God bless yall for this beautiful video tribute. ❤❤
Thank you for the beautiful video. My father served in WW2, Korea and Vietnam and died in 2001 a week before the 911 attacks. I cannot appreciate his sacrifice enough to keep freedom in this country.
This is such a touching song and a well-done video! Thank you so much for the opportunity to share my grandfather's photo. Much love and God's blessings to you all and your families.
My grandpa served in the Navy, came home injured. He passed in 2011 at 85. He was my best friend, the only father figure I ever had. He lived to watch all 4 of my children start elementary school. My oldest carries his name. Robert Preston Burns you will never be forgotten!
I cannot say or add to all the praise and thanks to you three wonderful singers. I have enjoyed all the videos you have made for RUclips. I tend to become cynical about the way things are now in 2024, but Lifein3D has lifted my spirits and hopes for the future. Best wishes and good luck to the lives you are just beginning.
I can tell, the parents of these three kids are wonderful people to have raised them to be so kind and thoughtful. As a veteran, It gives me hope for the future.
This a beautiful tribute and very well done. I know you folks are Americans and this was done for your Memorial Day, but let me share the story of a dear friend Douglas ( God rest his soul ) who joined the Royal Navy at the outbreak of war in 1939 at 17 years of age and served in every region where the Royal Navy was deployed including the D-Day landings and the inavasion of Sicily and ended to the war in HMS Howe in the Pacific. He got home in 1946 ...7 years after he left home. They were indeed "the greatest generation"
They were indeed. Thank you for telling us about your dear friend - he sounds like a true legend! I have a 17 year old son and can't begin to imagine him experiencing such horrors... Your friend surely had angels watching over him!
My late grandfather who passed away nearly 7.5 years ago at the age of 90 was a training officer in the black watch regiment (in Scotland) during the last 2-3 years of WW2. God rest their souls
Thank you for using your talents to remember those who fought and died for our freedom. My Papa was Navy UDT (early SEAL program) in WWII. He was one of the first to use the bubble head suit and trained many other divers. I know he wasn't able to talk about most of what he did but the stories he did share were amazing. I miss his smile, his big hugs, his never-ending stories, and his love for gramma. He will never be forgotten. Thank you for giving me this moment to tell others how much I love him.
My Dad was in India and China, my husband’s Dad at Pearl Harbor. Their brothers were at Pearl Harbor and European theater, one flew the Hump. Thank you for this tribute to them.
As a French man I will never forget that we owe our freedom to the American people and it will be a joy to welcome you in Paris for the Olympics. Please come to visit us. The city of Paris was never as beautiful as today. I look forward to see you back.
When I see the reverence and gratitude of the citizens of Normandy greeting our surviving veterans visiting your sacred country, it touches my heart so deeply. Gratitude can cross generations, and in so doing, it assumes a deep patina upon our character and culture. Mes respects, Monsieur.
Not a dry eye in my house right now , just beautiful an yes thank you to all men an women who served white or black , native Indian we all brothers an sisters an I love you all ❤
My Dad's eyesight was too bad for active combat, but he was stationed on a Navy boat in the Pacific theater. They were called to do recognizance in Nagasaki a week after the bomb dropped. Dad lost a lung upon returning to the U.S., but lived to 88 with one lung. Love you Daddy, and honor your service! ❤
I am the first son of a WW2 Vet of the Italian Campaign. He had 2 more sons. I would not have come to be had he died in that war. Before my father died in 1999, he saw my two sons and held my baby daughter. For 7 yrs I heard his story sitting on our front porch. My mother's brother served in Pacific under MacArthur while my father's brother served as a Marine Corps Master Sargent in the Pacific. I did not hear their stories but I am sure theirs would have been as sad, bloody, terrifying and times laced with laughter. They and their mates were for us their sons and daughters, our Greatest Generation. As of 2024 may we all stand to be seen for future generations be as great in this hour of our country. Thank you for your singing that last good bye.
Heart swells of gratitude. Thank you for being so young, and yet bringing so much light to those who served. May God bless you!! To my grandfather Grover O. Phillips who served WWII and my uncles Stanley, David, Gordy who all 3 served on Navy submarines, your service is remembered with gratitude. And to all the other veterans and families out there, may God bless you and the legacies you can recount today, and forever. God bless you all, amen.
I am a person who comes from a family who has been serving America since we first gained our independence. I don’t say this to brag even though I am proud of my family and their willingness to serve for mine and other peoples freedoms . I am saying this because I love seeing things that honor our soldiers who have fallen, were missing, captured, returned home and still serving. This song brought tears to my eyes. It is so beautiful. Thank you
😢 so touching. My Dad was in the Army Air Corps . He had the dangerous job of a tail gunner, under the aircraft. His best friend, Lewis Smith, had the same position under the front of the plane. Both survived and lived to be 84 and 98. Thank you for this moving tribute. ❤️

My wonderful Dad, Albert Nelson, was in the Navy in the Pacific during WWII. I was born a year after the war was over. He was a wonderful husband and father, and I'm so glad that he came home, because so many did not. I miss him every single day. Thanks for this video. It set just the right tone, acknowledging the sacrifices these people made without glorifying war.
Thank you, seeing my dads picture in your tribute brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for including him. I am 60 years old and I still miss my dad even though he has been gone for over 20 years. He was a proud WW2 vet and carried scars on his legs from shrapnel his entire life without complaint. I loved the sign, that said home of the free because of the brave. Very TRUE WORDS. He would have LOVED hearing your song! I know he's listing from heaven now!! Thank you again!!
Thank you to the three of you for your tender tribute to the Veteran's of WW2 ! Thank you for including the picture I sent to your email of my parents Headstone. I had the honor and privilege to grow up around several of our WW2 veterans and heard their stories of their service to our country. Sadly all these great men I grew up with are gone now. I still have my uncle Adrians Navy dress uniform and a neighbor's Army dress uniform in my collection. I greatly admire each and every one of these men and all of our veterans in general. Thank you for the tribute. My father served in Germany during the 2nd World War. Growing up he didn’t want to talk about what he experienced and what he witnessed during the war. I enlisted in the US Army in 1972, serving in Germany. After I completed my enlistment and returned home, my dad was willing to talk about his military service. He witnessed the horrors of war which affected him the rest of his life. After he retired from teaching he got involved with reunions with the unit he served with during the war at locations throughout the US. He passed away in 2005 with military honors.

On behalf of my Late Father who served in WW11 on the Aleutian Chain in Alaska I thank you 3D for a beautiful tribute for all those who served and died for our country. We honor them all and do not take it lightly what they have done for us all. Love your voices. Keep singing. God Bless you.
My Dad was among those men who stayed gone from home all of those years. He was one of the fortunate who did come home. So many did not. Thank you for this. We miss them, but look forward to being reunited in God's time.
Well said
Praise, gratitude and love to all our WWII Veterans!!
On behalf of my father, Master Sgt. Roy Burnes Jr, who served in North Africa, Sicily and Italy, I thank you. Your tribute was beautifully done.
@@jimhoffmann2649 God bless you and your family each day. these service members truly were the GREATEST GENERATION - they saved the free world. may we and our families alwaysss remember their service and sacrifice ❤️🇺🇸💙
A special thankyou from New Zealand to you as you represent your father, a hero.
Many young New Zealand men fought in those places. I acknowledge the appalling situations they lived through...if lucky.
Lest we forget.
@@jimhoffmann2649
I salute your father.
Our Boys from New Zealand served in those countries also.
All these heroes are woven into my heart.
Well written sir
Amen, Sir! Same here. My Dad fought aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex in the Pacific during WWII. I salute them all and miss them greatly. Marshall in Oklahoma
The greatest generation!
This really made me miss my dad who fought in WWII along with 3 of my uncles. Thank you to ALL who served
Never!! Thank you
Thank you for your comment:) We only used the pictures that were sent to us, but you are right! We will never forget. Please, if you have any pictures send them to us! We are considering doing a second video with even more pictures in it and we’d love to include him.
They're all my heroes
Amen
Amen indeed x
Thank you what a beautiful Memorial song my father was one of the survivors I would not be here if he didn't God bless you guys
Retired Army here with 4 tours to OIF. My grandfather was my hero and he was a Thompson machine gunner in WWII. I pretty much patterned my life after him. Thank you all for doing this wonderful tribute and good luck on your future endeavors!
You gave me tears listening and watching this. God Bless all veterans from all nations both then and now, who put their lives on the line for our freedom's....From UK Veteran 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Beautiful. It brought tears. My dad was a WWII Marine in the Pacific and China. He is gone now but let us never forget their sacrifice. Thank you for this.
We are sorry for your loss and are so grateful to all those who gave their lives
My dad served in that war. He made it home, thank heaven. So many didn't. Brought me to tears.
You can feel their spirits. They are gone for now, never forgotten, one day to be reunited with our loved ones! Beautifully done!
Beautiful my Dad a WWII vet was the good force in my life teaching me to love God and Jesus, thank you.
Thank you for honoring our nation's Veterans with your beautiful singing.
What beautiful significance, truly special
As a Navy Veteran myself, this touches my heart. May all the Veterans who have died rest in peace.
Goose bumps, crying, touching! WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THEM! Excellent work, and song. Thank you so much!
Where could I find the lyrics, such beautiful song!
I got them in the transcript :) :)
Beautiful singing and a wonderful tribute to those who were willing to sacrifice everything for others.
We will not forget the black American soldiers or any other ethnic group. . All are Americans and we owe them our freedom.
They fought together, many died together, they ALL kept our freedom.
You are correct! We are all AMERICANS! ❤
The Tuskegee airmen had an incredible record. They never lost a bomber.
My dad, a W.W. 11 P.O.W. would be 103 were he alive today. He'd be quite moved by this beautiful music...God Bless you for honoring all that served.
Absolutely beautiful!! Made me think of my stepdad, who proudly served in the Army and Air Force, though not in WWII. Brought tears to my eyes.
My father served in Europe, specifically Germany, after the war and to his grave never spoke of the attrosities he witnessed. Thank you for honoring all our heroes in such a beautiful way
My father, the late Staff Sgt. Henry A, (Medic Corps) Thanks you. And so do I.
They truly were the greatest generation
What a beautiful comment.
Thankyou from New Zealand.
My dad was one those brave men. Love you dad. Rest in peace.
Mine too my friend I miss him so much ❤ you Dad
God bless and we thank the brave men and women for honor of america and saving freedom and peace of the world..
You are our heros forever and unforgettable.
@@ThomasDepko mine too 😘
That had me crying.
Beautiful, beautiful. My dad's generation. With pride, and tears in my eyes, I watch this. Thank you.
A beautiful tribute to the Greatest Generation. My father was a Marine and served in WWII. Thank you to all the brave men and women. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🥺
@barrytucker1561 Yes they were! Your friend was a hero. My respect to both of you.
Thank you for sharing that. Brian
My late grandfather who passed away nearly 7.5 years ago at the age of 90 was a training officer in the black watch regiment (in Scotland) during the last 2-3 years of WW2. God rest their souls
Thank you for honoring our ww2 veterans. Very heartfelt. My father was a decorated veteran. He lived to be 90 and passed away 14 years ago. ❤
Beautiful, thank you for sharing some of your special memories of him
My Dad was in India and China, my husband’s Dad at Pearl Harbor.
This is inspiring, thank you
Thank you, and I think as Americans, we owe our independence to France. Good allies!
@@TheRealDonLayton We do! France ensured our freedom from England!
Thanks so much, Francois, very kind of you.
Beautiful tribute thankful for all our service men and women who have served this great country, thank you for your service ❤❤❤
My dad was in the Canadian Armed Forces in WWII. Thank you so very much for this beautiful touching tribute to all those that served.
My father served in the Battle of the Bulge. Legion of Merit award. I am so proud of him? Miss him so much.
His best friend, Lewis Smith, had the same position under
the front of the plane. Both survived and lived to be 84 and 98. Thank you for this moving tribute. ❤️
My father was in world war 2 and told me most gunners about half didnt make it ,So very happy for YOU,My father was a HEAD COOK for 300 men , He ,Eugene passed in July,2012 also my mother Sarah 3 months apart ,She in November 29 2012,I looooved listening to his war Stories 🔥GOD Bless You 💜
Wow, incredible they both made it back
Truly the greatest generation. They saw their duty and they did it. They understood good vs. evil.
Tears of thankfulness for all who have and are serving our country! The music, vocals, everything was top notch and will touch many hearts! May God bless America!❤Thank you 3D💕
Another proud memory in our Family History . Thank you for the sweet words in the lyrics, sung so beautifully with your talented voices. Your effort to keep these memories alive makes you heroes as well in my book !
Even though this country seems to be in a mess, I am truly inspired that young people like the three of you are here to carry on. Your talents, attitude, and morality do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Health, success, and the blessing of God will be with you all.......I'm sure of it.
Thank you for this Tribute. My passed 10 years ago at 97 WW2 vet. Im 75 Vietnam Vet. It will our turn to pass someday. God Bless to all our brothers and sisters who gave all.
My dad served. On T2 tankers in the Merchant Marine off the east coast One of the most dangerous jobs. Died at age of 73 in 1997 of lung cancer. Never spoke of his service. Raised 7 boys and girls
I was in tears listening to this. I was born in 1942 in England. I remember the aftermath and the devastation in my home town of Coventry. Thank God for the valiant men and women for their sacrifices.
Thank you uncle Thomas Yourich for your dedication to our naval forces. God bless all who served .
From this veteran, the grandson of a WW2 veteran, and grand-nephew of another WW2veteran who lost his life and is buried in Arlington… Thank You for remembering them… and ALL those that served in one of the worlds deadliest wars! May we never see a conflict like that ever again!
Thank You for your service, you're all heros!
They truly were the greatest generation, the willing sacrifice for our country. God bless all active and retired US military and a deep gratitude to all who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you for this video and your awesome voices.
Brilliant singing. My dad was in the 6th Airborne Division but would never talk about the war. He would be 102 if he was alive today. God Bless Him.
Well done in gratitude to our servicemen, who paid the price for our freedoms ❤️🇺🇲
I love this song. It touched me in a way that I felt my own grandmother presence. She served in WW2, and she passed away back in early 2000s. Thank y'all so much for doing this song.
He passed away in 2005 with military honors.
im 70 years old and just found your music it gives joy to my heart not only the music but the example and hope you give me for the young people . THANK YOU
Oh my goodness! What an absolutely beautiful song and visual clip to go with it. I am in Australia but like all of us all over the world I have the utmost respect for all of those brave people that fought and died for us. Very, very well done!
I wish my dad, Edward, could have heard this. You kids made me cry. Thank you.
What a wonderful tribute to our braves. It takes 3 young persons like yourselves to remember never to forget. Thank you my friends.
Too many of your videos make me cry. It is heartwarming that y;all understand when you're at least 3 generations from them. God bless you
You did our men and women Warriors such great respect… thank you! God Bless.
My Dad was a Marine in WW2! Thx for your service Dad! I love you and miss you. And you too Uncle Fred, who died in that war at 18. Both with Jesus! See you both soon! So proud of you both and all who died, were wounded and served! God bless all!
