I played every day from the time I was ten years old. I had perpetual subscriptions to MD, watched MTV, listened to and played along with all different radio stations, was in every band in school, played in a bunch of rock bands through high school and after, moved halfway across the country to “make it” after high school. Became the drummer for a band I LOVED. The music was everything to me. Then they told me “if you think you’ve got what it takes to make it, you’re crazy”, and then they kicked me out of the band. It broke me. I haven’t played drums in a band since. That’s been almost 30 years. Don’t listen to ANYONE. EVER. If you wanna do it, just do it.
