Just picked up my General Tools digi angle finder & Starrett angle finder too. They're both great to have Chad!
Hi Chad, thanks for your video's, I enjoy your approach and general attitude and you do some really cool stuff with wood!
What's up Chad , how are you doing, how's everything with the family, i got one of those since we last talk about a yr ago,, thank you it's very helpful for finding angles , thank you for sharing your tips with us, have a great weekend my friend
Another great and informative video Chad, and I’m really happy with my Husky digital which is the same as the Trend one you have.
I like your approach and keep on with the videos.
Nice vids as always
Excellent video.
With a little math (I can hear the shudders...) and a framing square, the first angle finder will do any angle you want. Thanks for the comparisons between the different tools. Although there aren't currently any trolls on this video, I clicked "like" to crush any that might show up.
Yep love mine from GemRed
I want it!!!!! Tool lust strikes
I have been using a digital angle gauges for several years, love them. Only 2 minor down flaws as you mentioned the battery (keep a spare) and a little bit fragile.
At first i didn't trust the digital, but now i'm believing it.
I own both and for me I prefer the Starrett.
I use the starrett yellow colored finder n use a magnifying glass to read n compare it to the Husky sold at Home Depot.
Just an FYI if no one said this already. I just picked up the HUSKY digital version of the TREND tool and I found the tightening knob works great. The HUSKY comes with a REPLACEABLE battery and a lifetime guarantee.
So far so good. Thanks for the video
Ah! Great tip. Thank you
Another great tool video Chad. Angle gauges are very helpful. I have all three kinds. There are actually three of the old fashioned versions hanging on my tool wall. The Starrett I have is a smaller version if what you showed( Starrett 505A-7 ProSite Protractor). Currently they are a little more that $65 but Starrett now has what they are calling a miter saw protractor for about $20 which is very similar but it’s made out of plastic. My digital angle gauge is about as large as your Starrett. I don’t remember who made it. I really like the digital for some things but don’t find it as helpful as the Starrett when using my miter saw. As you mentioned the tool isn’t much good when the battery dies. While mine uses larger button batteries that can be replaced I fine when it goes out I’m stuck and have to use the Starrett anyway. That’s happened several times over the years even though I don’t use angle gauges very often.
The Mcfeely deal looks great. That’s cheaper than any similar gauges on Amazon right now. I strongly suggest that your viewers spend their $50 on screws. The screws that McFeely sells are far better than they’ll find at the Big Box stores. Several years back I stocked up on various #6, #8 and #10 wood screws and am still using them in projects. It’s been very handy to have them in stock so they’re there when I need them.
Hope all is well. Don
Thank you my friend. Great advice you gave.
Thanks. Give my best to your wife.

Interesting
Always good stuff, thanks. I guess we'll be seeing you in glasses sometime soon mate! Too much birthday cake;-) Thanks again.
I might wear glasses or just squint more :-)
@@ChadStanton If you stick around long enough, it's going to happen. Reading glasses are cheap. :-)
@@mikecurtin9831 yeah i have a pair. $5, Helps with reading
I bought mine at home depot with the husky name on it for about $20
Good stuff. I think you will find that the Trend unit has an LCD display rather than an LED.
Ah ha Thank you sir! I miss spoke
FYI The Discount Code in the Show More Notes is incorrect. It is a 3 at the end / Not a 6. Thanks for the tips, always helpful.
Ah yes. Thank you. Don't know how i missed that
Once again, Chad, you did another good video BUT … when are you going to do a show focusing on a Board Stretcher? I have always heard of this tool but have never found one. If you could, do a show on this item and let us know where we can get one.
Today i was at Kencraft buying some wood. They said , "Is this all you need today?" I said, only until i cut the boards wrong. Hahahaha
Well, Chad, I guess it's up to me. I will make a board stretcher, market it and become a Multi-Trillionare. I'll pay off all of the USA's debts … and then … you will all be working for … ME ! ! !
Trick I use for the manual gauge...take a photo on my phone and then zoom up on the reading.
You young Whipper Snapper, your eyes are fine. Its just your arms are getting shorter. Great vid Chad. Are you ever going to be doing a shop update tour?
Hahaha shorter arms. I have to clean my shop up. I have SO many jobs in there i'd be embarrassed to do a tour.
What about my Festool angle finder?
Give it to me and i'll let you know :-)
You used the bevel gauge for several years and you thought you always need a protractor to go with it?
🇲🇾
You still have a tool even if the battery is dead just replace it! I bet you recharge your batteries to do more videos! Whats the difference in just replacing the battery and charging one?
So basically, nothing is perfect..
pretty much :-) It just depends on the buyer
