  • I recently purchased a Trend digital level box, the DLB. Basically is a metal and plastic cube with a digital display that will easily set angles relative to one another to an accuracy of 0.2 of a degree.
I'll be using it around the workshop to set the blades that I often adjust in my Rexon table saw and Evolution mitre saws.
Links below to where I bought the DLB and my relevant videos:
Amazon had this device on at a price of £17 with a discount voucher reducing it by another £4.36 to just £12.64 amzn.to/2ZfVIg6

Hi Paul, If you could establish a reference point to start and zero from there then maybe. Thanks for watching 👍🏽👍🏽

You should point out the accuracy stated is limited to 0.2deg. So when your saw blade says 89.9….it could really be anywhere from 89.7 to 90.1. So no point obsessing over ‘exact 90’ with this. It also tends to delay any change as you move the reference edge, then suddenly jump. Ok…so what? Well if you want it to hang a picture frame, level a shelf or set a rafter…perfectly fine. However, if you require true level or true 90 deg then this is not the tool for you. A good spirit level should show bubble movement down to better than 2mm millimetre of one end height adjust per metre of length or around 0.11 deg. So whilst the DLB is more convenient and compact than a spirit level it a no more accurate or trustworthy. It IS good for sticking to a saw, but a small engineers square would do as well. While DLB is down to £16 GBP it is worth the outlay for general diy, but don’t get all gooey eyed over the accuracy!

Hi and thanks for the comments. As you saw from the video I do use a square for setting the 90 degree angle of the blade relative to the bed and now use the DLB for any other angle the saw will allow, relative to the bed. Unfortunately the DLB is not 100% accurate, like a lot of things, and I think a spirt level, although potentially more accurate would only be any good in this circumstance if I could guarantee the roll around saw was in fact level to start with. Thanks for watching 👍🏽

I’ve found mine to be useful for setting the saw up. And it’s all relative. For example if the whole table saw deck is off then you simply zero the DLB to the deck before sticking it to the blade. Some people moan about the accuracy isn’t good enough but for me it’s spot on. Thanks for watching 👍🏽
