Land Rover Defender TD5 mirror fix
I fitted larger door mirrors a few years ago to give me a better rear view and they have been fine but as they are larger the hedges find them easier than before! Particularly the near side (Left hand side).
This video shows that rather than paying £46 for a new one, with a little time and patience there is a way to fix it.
Links below are for things I mentioned in the video:

      Hi. If you are able to measure the voltage at the connector of the battery tube you should be getting something slightly above 6 volts as they are new batteries. The center of the screw in connector must be the positive. If it’s not then there is something wrong with the battery fitting! Failing that unplug the receiver unit and leave it out for 30 mins. Mine goes a bit crazy when we have a power cut and can take hours until we get a correct display. The sender unit in the tank updates the unit about every 30mins so don’t expect to get a correct reading straight away. I hope this helps 👍🏽

    If you do this, make sure your flamethrower is strong enough, I tried it with a weed burner and because I had to keep it on the same spot for longer it left ugly patterns😅

    Did you place the resistor between the signal wire and the positive feed? Or just in the signal wire? Hard to see on the video. Thanks a lot

      I cannot see all the comments for this video at the moment (At work!) but I’m sure I have already answered this question. Take a look through the comments and I think you will find the answer. Remember there are two parts to the video, the answer may be in the other one. If it’s not there come back to me and I’ll find the answer for you. Thanks for watching 👍

      @@MikeMakesIt thank you so much! I found it. Somehow I missed you already answer it. Do you remember by any chance what voltage you had when measruing the signal wire? I can't seem to get any even though I used pin 19. Thanks so much

    • @MikeMakesIt
      @MikeMakesIt 2 месяца назад

      @@inakiruiz1941 It was measured on the scope but I would be guessing now if I said a figure. If you use a DVM I think you would just get an average voltage of the signal value. A scope is really what you need to measure the wave form. If the resistor isn’t connected at the right points you wont get anything!

    With the tracer you can push the button and pull out the lead and reverse to put one in. Saves on the faffing of removing the end and forcing the new lead in.
