The look on their faces during 'the rant ' is classic.. Disturbed RULES!!
And they went from shook to right back into groovin'. Loved it!
@@nine-dogs that’s what I said too! This was so good.
I think it's one of the best reactions to it that I've seen
You get it girl...love and stay safe all
I’m happy I saw this comment before I got to that part. The anticipation added to to it 😂 it’s the reaction this song deserves
She is the first person that i have seen that reacted to this version of the song, that actually understood the part of the stages of child abuse in this song. Way to go.
It not about child abuse
Thank You for listening to the unedited version
right!
As the child of an extremely heavy handed Dad (many years ago)...this still brings up that old emotion.
Hope the curse stops with you. Get help if you need. I needed to.
I relate to this with " mother" being literal. It is a journey many abused children experience
Hey S & M Squad!!! Thank you all so much for watching! We hope you are having a great day on purpose!!! We also hope you enjoyed the video!!!
Hey I I'm a new subscriber and love y'all's reactions. Plz react to Disturbed's The Night. I think it's one of their better ones and gets pretty deep. Hope y'all keep doing these, and enjoy! It's gonna be a wild ride!
As twisted as these songs seem it's how people deal with emotions and express what they're feeling without actually acting on them. Imagine being in that situation and hearing a song that portrays how you feel and the comfort and expression it can give you. Great breakdown Mel, I think you got a great understanding.
Thank you so much for listening to the un-edited version
That reaction was priceless. When Mel described her thoughts at the end was absolutely spot on! Excellent, that couldn’t have been said better! 👍🏻 🙏🏻
Happy I found your channel.
Love seeing new people introduced to Disturbed as a 20 year fan. some recommendations Prayer, Inside the Fire, Hold on to Memories, The Animal, Warrior, Vengeful One, Are You Ready. There are endless other greats but these are must hear IMO
Got to agree with you😎
Remember (from disturbed) is so beautiful too
They look so innocent.They ain't ready...😈😈😈
🤣 they need to listen to system of a Down next
Sitting at the Drs office and he says "Open up and say ah"
Me: Oh ah ah ah ah ah
Dr: I see you are down with the sickness.
I work in a Drs office, and now have to find the appropriate moment to make this joke 😆
Lmfao 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Hahahahaha!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
AND WHEN I DREAM!!!! HA HA HA Loved it.
I love how they let the song play through to the end. Hard song for some to understand and they got it and gave a good review.
"Inside the Fire" is another good one by them (Disturbed), but seriously prepare yourself, it's pretty dark and it goes into some serious subject matter. Like suicide chain/spiral places kinda dark.
Would love to see them react to this song!
Yes "Inside the Fire" is a great song but its intense, he even attached a warning in the beginning of the video, but its a great song
Maybe note that it's about Suicide, for anyone that hasn't heard Inside the Fire before.
It's a great piece, but is def dark
I love how even after "that part" and the horror of the words. You still cant help bumping to it when the song comes back.
😂😂😂 That made me laugh when they started nodding after that lol
EXACTLY.... YOU HIT IT ON THE NOSE.... He said... When I dream....
WOW... DISTURBED does touch on these hard subjects.... its POWERFUL and a lot of people know this PAIN...
*”MOTHER”* is a term for the government. Don’t worry, he’s not literally talking about his mother, or a mother in general. I hope y’all read this so you don’t get this song wrong.
Hey Samoan, thank you for the explanation 💜
I bought their album when it first came out and was blasting it in my room. My mother rushed in damn near knocked my block off for listening to it. I had to explain it to her, then she was cool. She was a big hippy and totally agreed . Anyway she bought every album afterwards until she passed away.
@@ShawnandMel4Life Happy to help. Keep up the reactions. Aloha 🌺💚
@@MrEfreeman lol, you almost had it 😄 Sorry for your loss 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
And mainstream society with how they treat outcasts and people who don’t fit the norm of acceptable society when this came out because at the time outcasts were being targeted because of the Columbine Massacre and lgbt people were still being persecuted by most of society
coming form someone who tends to hold in emotions, music like this helps me cope with them. metal is an amazing stress reliever.
I absolutely loved your faces during that song. Such a switch from “Sound of Silence”.
Disturbed also has songs that are thought provoking and supportive. Check out:
“Reason to Fight”
&
“Hold on to Memories”
These two songs are amazing by them
New to Disturbed and listens to Sound of Silence: “Alright. We’re good. That was great.”
Second song is Down With the Sickness: “What did we get ourselves into?!?!?!”
I love everybody's reaction to that last bit where he talks about his violent mother, because I know it's coming and to see the expression on your faces is priceless
Yep. I was waiting 🤣
I've seen them in concert a few times...10,000 people yelling along during the breakdown is something to experience.
My son and I seen them in Ft. Wayne. Everyone sang “Down with the Sickness” with David. It was an awesome thing to be a part of. You could see the band enjoying it too
I have to say your reaction to the Rant, had me gut busting laughing your faces were priceless
Your reaction is awesome 👍🎶💖👍💖🎶 disturbed are one of my favorites, more awesome Disturbed songs are inside the fire, stricken, indestructible, stupify,a reason to fight & hold on to memories 👍💖👍💖👍💖👍💖👍💖👍
Props for doing the unedited version.
My mom would play this in the car with us kids lmao!!! I was into Josh Groban and my mom listening to this kind of music haha we are best friends!
My son and I play it in the song together too 🤣🤦♀️ he’s one of my best friends as well. Maybe there’s something to that music bond. We listen to a lot of music together we both enjoy. Going to see Rage in August🤷♀️ it is what it is 😁
Your faces are priceless!! Love that you're both giving all music a fair shot whether you're diggin it or not! Often it's not as it initially appears.
Used to watch these guys at a small bar called Champs on the south side of Chicago by my house at 16 years old. LOVED them ever since.
Want one that will really emotionally tear you apart. Korn “Daddy”.
The middle rant always DISTURBED me LOL. Great reaction 🤟🏻👍🏻
Best reaction to the sickness ever!!!!!!!
I'm a 68 yr old Grandmother who has been listening to Disturbed since the beginning. I saw your reaction to Sound of Silence and had to see if you had heard this. Congratulations... you are now Head Bangers! Welcome!
And...I just subscribed!
Thank you for understanding the meaning of this song
There faces during the rant just completely floored me! I literally fell out of my chair laughing!
"Prayer' by Disturbed is a must
Underrated Disturbed song
I just want to say how much I love how open you two are to different genres of music. Especially her, right off the bat she understood and put herself in someone anothers shoes.
I been on a "The Sound of Silence" reaction binge today and I knew as soon as you asked people to tell y'all about Disturbed this was inevitable.
This isn't music you can just listen to. Disturbed performs art that you FEEL.
having a MOM and DAD whlie growing up is so important for everyone..so many kids growing up with no parental guidance 😮
I love your reaction to this song! Thank you guys for choosing the uncensored version not too many ppl who just react to the PG version or censored. Keep up reactions!
Mel you were spot on!! You grabbed the meaning of this song. You both rocked this song out! I am new to you both and by this reaction from you all ..I am in 💯
Absolutely freaking awesome reaction. First one I've heard that actually understood the message. I have watched several reactions to this video or song and most people are speechless after the rant. I appreciate you guys!
This my wake up alarm, it gets me up and moving. My husband likes the group but not at 5 AM 😉.
Y'all have great reactions, I love that y'all let the song play, and then really talk about what you thought.
Absolutely enjoy this reaction. The looks on your faces! But then your commentary after. Very very smart and then lightened.
The look of shock and horror on your faces during the spoken verses was hilarious, has to be the best reaction to that section I've ever seen.
Met disturbed on the last tour. They are really dope guys. And one hell of a show
Finally, a reaction that doesn't react to the version that cuts out the rant.
This is about how society treats people who are "different." A lot of people think they are "sick" and "wrong" and want nothing to do with them.
In the middle of the song, lead singer David Draiman acts out a skit where he is being abused by his mother (not in the radio version). Finally, he builds up enough courage and hits her right back. This is used to symbolize how "mother society" abuses "her" children for not being the way "she" thinks they should. "She" keeps doing it until "her" children get sick of it and are so angry with her and themselves they go out and get revenge for it, most likely by killing the people that hurt them ("here it comes, get ready to die!") A good example of this would be the school shootings that go on around the country.
Getting "Down With The Sickness" means accepting people for who they are so we can all function better.
Wow...Just...Wow
I watched it the first time with you. That touched you in your core. They were able to capture that in sound....
haha I love the "wtf did I just hear?" Faces
The rollercoaster we just saw in their faces
10,000 Fists.....it's my favorite Disturbed song.
You guys are probably the only ones to get this reaction right the first time lol kuddos on that 🤘
Just discovered this channel today. Mel is absolutely a metalhead. Love it.
The abuse by society on the individual. "Mother" is another term for society.
Disturbed has been around for a long time. A couple of more recent songs that are worthy are, "Stricken" and " The Light" . The light being my personal fave. Many more awesome songs for you also.
Abuse of children is exactly what you get when they grow up. It is triggering and sad. Love ❤️
It looks like she is getting into the beat pretty good there. There faces are priceless.
This song is still a banger all these years later!! 🤘🔥🤘
My heart still races every time I hear that "Mommy" part. It's way too real.
P.S. My mother is a Saint.
Falling in reverse is a great group, popular monster. Love that song and group
Greatest reaction ,That I’ve I seen, Well said ,on your thoughts too
THE RANT IS THE BEST PART LMAO THE REACTION I LOVE IT!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤣🤣🤣🤣GETS YOU PUMPED
That's a real moment tho right there you feel it
Your faces during the mommy part. forking priceless.
This couple is adorable!! Love their faces haha so funny
One of my favorite reaction videos yet. Yall are great!👍
I've watched a lot of reactions to this song. I wait until the dream sequence in this version to see the look on people's faces. It's always amusing to watch and you two were no different. I will say that most people don't get it but Mel you got it, nail on the head.
I had so much fun watching your reaction to that disturbed video. Literally
Your reaction when he goes off on that rant! LOL! Perfect.
So glad you heard the unedited version.
And she gets it!!
Look into David’s history with his mom. (David us the singer)
Great job! Most reactors don’t understand why and what that middle means
This song here, pretty much contains all of the 'Elements' of what is, 'Metal'.. Carrying those 'Crunchy' undertones and a st8 'Down N DIRTY Thumpin BASS' along with a well structured 'Melodic Chorus'.. If you put they lyrics aside as to not dwell on the OBVIOUS pain within then BAMMM, SHOOOOCK ROOOOOOCK!!
Thank you for being the first reviewers who got it the first time. Good job! Glad you enjoyed the beat and got the message. Cheers.
Finally!!! A reaction to the full version of this song!! Thank you!!! Subbed.
#1 on workout playlist... Then on repeat
I love it!!! At the end of the song, you guys looked like you just got off the worlds largest roller coaster. 😎✌
He's calling for an uprising against abuse of all kinds! Great reaction!
I love the way she thinks, most people would just discard as hate, and no they're speaking for those that hurt. Doesnt even have to be on a direct level as mother can be even broader.
One of my favorite songs!
They have quite a few songs that touch on awareness of sensitive topics. "Inside the fire" and "A Reason To Fight" both deal with suicide. And yes, they can really switch up their style quite well.
The look on your faces was priceless! Another great reaction fam
Hush- By HellYeah. Reminds me of my childhood whenever I hear it. Almost a therapy in itself.
This band is jamming for sure very unique
I really LIVE FOR the change in your facial expressions after the rant when you realized it was an abused child feeling vengeful you guys seemed a lot more with it after that
If y'all haven't checked out any Jinjer, I highly recommend them. The best song to introduce you to for them is "Pisces (live studio session)". From there the rabbit hole goes further
Scooby climbs YES!
I love this song
My jaw hit the floor too first time I heard it
people like to drop this on unexpecting reactors because of its shock value. of which, you two were hit hard with it. with that said though, Mel, congrats on catching the message of the song. child abuse is a real problem, a silent problem, that needs remedied. now, not all Disturbed songs are this shocking. i would suggest Land Of Confusion (Genesis cover), also The Game, and two of my personal favorites Inside The Fire and Get Psycho. Inside The Fire is also another super deep message song...but without the shock lyrics, i promise
Awesome reaction. You guys were really groovin' with it.
You've got it girl. You know what he's talking about.
You`re the only ones who reacted to the uncensured version. Thank you .
So glad you got the message of the song right away...A lot of reactions didn't and dismiss it all! The look on BOTH your faces....PRICELESS
New subscriber.
Listening to music you usually wouldn't.
I'm glad you have chosen this path.
Nothing evolves and comfort zone.
You are wonderful conscious human beings.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 the shock at the mommy beatin 😂😂😂 hilarious
Hey Luke, I wasn’t expecting that Mommy beating 😂
I heard it first when I was about 13, scared the shit outta me! 😂 check out inside the fire for a good look at these guys. They also do a great cover of land of confusion as well 👍 enjoy the distubing journey! One of a kind voice
the look on your faces....PRICELESS!!
Thank you so so so so so so so so so so so much for doing the un clipped version of this song, as it was meant to be.
With the "rant" part, this song means so much more
Mel your exactly right...you read into this song perfectly
Stricken is awesome amongst many more. True musicians and legendary artists.
SHE GETS IT BETTER THAN MOST PEOPLE ....VERY NICE
This song is about how society treats people who are "different." A lot of people think they are "sick" and "wrong" and want nothing to do with them.

Like the Sound of Silence, this song too is a 2020 song
As a black couple I'm glad you like Disturb as much as me as a black man who through real knowledge of learning the history of were rock music came from, black people through our music from blue's,& jazz Jimmy Hindrix really pushed it to a whole new level with his style and backwards guitar playing. But back to Disturb songs there's a song I know you'll love to react to and it's Who Thought You How To Hate, I love that song it's just one of my other favorite songs by them please check it out.
You are right about that perfectly explained. He was taught for opera. Another good one is Stupified!!
