You nailed it man. They are a lot like Link in Park yet very different. They hide their hip hop rhythm behind even more metal. Many metal fans didn't even notice it or understand why they sounded different. LP is hip hop (or pop) with a splash of metal. Disturbed is metal with a splash of hip hop. This is the sing that made Disturbed famous BTW.
Anything that pops with you can be pop anything that head bangs you is a head bang anything that is spoken word rhyming to music is rap it's all your perception of how you interpret music that's the beauty of music

All Disturbed original songs actually address issues within society. In the middle of the song, lead singer David Draiman acts out a skit where he is being abused by his mother (not in this version). Finally, he builds up enough courage and hits her right back. This is used to symbolize how "mother society" abuses "her" children for not being the way "she" thinks they should. "She" keeps doing it until "her" children get sick of it and are so angry with her and themselves they go out and get revenge for it, most likely by killing the people that hurt them ("here it comes, get ready to die!"). 10,000 Fists in the Air is about unity. They were /are good friends, and David Draiman, the singer for Disturbed, was very affected by Chester and Chris Cornell's deaths, and other suicides and mental health issues that affected his life ...he ended up writing the song ' A Reason to Fight', which is an amazing song, which you should react to if you haven't already (i haven't seen it yet if you did ) .... watch the Official Live version.... it is such a powerful video... - Julie
Metal was around long before hip Hop. You've noticed in your musical journey how everything is pulled from other music. it all starts with the classical and goes on from there. So the hip hop / rock and roll vibe goes way back before anybody ever even thought about rap
I have never considered linkin park and disturb to be alike. Disturb definitely hits harder. TOOL is definitely my shining. They are the G.O.A T. In this genre I've being loving them for 20 + yes the are musical geniuses
