just came back here after watching the new 2023 intro...i miss when this sport cared about showing the cars and the history rather than the drivers just standing in some LED clad room with some budget avengers music playing
atm imo is Lewis Hamilton on number 3 in the Mercedes era. He'll be the number 2 IF he surpasses Schumacher with 1 WDC. And you only have modern day drivers on an alltime list.
This is the type on intro when you’re not in front of the tv you sprint to it so you can see this and because it gets you too excited. Now we have a horrible soundtrack and visuals, it doesn’t show the true nature of f1, the speed, the danger, the excitement 🥲
Sunday afternoon with dad, followed by motoGP. Is it bad i actually get a lump in my throat when i hear this? Just remind me of the good times where there were no worries. Me my brother and dad watching the racing.
Nah me too. I remember when I was younger (around 7) watching f1 and my mum and sister didn't watch it but whenever the intro would come on the entire family would always come together to watch this amazing intro. Good Times man. Best intro ever made
I loved the BBC F1 intros. They always got me really excited as a boy and still do ad a 27 year old. The Sky ones are a bit mediocre. They are trying but the theme just isnt iconic
Little known fact, the original version of this actually showed skilled racing and elite sportsmen. Then the execs at F1 said “Hell no, we just want the intros full of crashes, explosions and general incompetence!”
Engines and tyres failing catastrophically at 200 mph, and when that Benetton is engulfed in flames after the fuel spill... now that's what you call hardcore Formula 1 action! Not like the pansy shit these days lol
@@AKK5I The sport is so much safer these days, which is great for the well-being of the drivers. But it also means a lot less hardcore action and carnage than there used to be! Probably why they used quite a bit of pretty old footage for this intro. One example is that they did away with mid race refuelling, so you won't see a car erupting into a ball of flames in the pits any more! 🔥🔥
This short compilation packs some proper hardcore F1 action! Even in the 2010s, they had to show all the old footage to make this intro so great, because raw F1 action like this just doesn't happen any more. What sort of a boring intro could they make out of today's footage? lol
The racing and drama in F1 today is fantastic. The 2021 season on its own was incredible for on-track action, and the 2022 cars are even better for wheel-to-wheel racing. The only thing we’re missing is real multi-team competitiveness for the Championships.
You're probably referring to how it is now. Back in the day it was action packed, which you can see from just a minute of this old footage in the intro! It's all gone to poofy mush these days!
Patrick Stewart, The Chain, and those visuals...this is the greatest intro in the history of intros.
2019s was good
@@johnwitherspoon1668 nah since 2018 they sound more like Netflix dramas. Pre 2018 was quality
@@louismiddleton66 Ok boomer

JEAN-LUC PICARD
Brian Tyler’s F1 theme is good, but this version much better captures what makes F1 so exciting.
Made*
I would cry if I had to sit through this same montage every race
@@puffnpluky76 same
Who? Who cares about brian Tyler’s f1 theme. Fleetwood Mac the chain is the best f1 theme
The BBC giving us this wonderful example of what a title sequence should do - capture the very essence of the programme ...with added goosebumps.
I remember being 9, and watching my dad switch off gran tourismo and turn on to this. Literally pure nostalgia
The ultimate intro, full of carnage and madness.
Patrick Stewart doing the voiceover. Make it so!
engage!
"Is that Patrick Stewart?"
"Fuck yeah that's Patrick Stewart."
I feel like every F1 intro needs to show Jos Verstappen getting set on fire
This intro is ridiculously good.
just came back here after watching the new 2023 intro...i miss when this sport cared about showing the cars and the history rather than the drivers just standing in some LED clad room with some budget avengers music playing
Exactly. This this.
Sad that i can't see this intro anymore, what i can do is just see and pray that bbc continues f1 broadcasting again
Well with Bernie Ecclestone no longer in charge we can only hope. Sky's current exclusivity deal lasts until 2024 though
Not gonna happened....
@@andrewbailey7999 It's even longer now 2029 for the UK and Ireland. 2027 for Germany and Italy
This is and always will be the f1 theme tune for me …. The history in the visuals of the intro will never ever be beaten !!!!! Back when f1 was proper
I'm not even a F1 fan, but this title sequence is probably the best ever made.
I really miss hearing The Chain as the F1 theme
"But now, on BBC 1...it's the Formula 1"
I love the nostalgia I get when listening to this!
This will never NOT give me goosebumps.
0:14+. One of the best intros of anything.
The memories of getting all hyped up sat on the living room floor waiting for the race
Honestly gives me goose bumps everytime
"How many times have you watched this?"
yes.
2019: send this to a Mercedes fan
2023: send this to a Redbull Fan
I'm not really sure why but this brings tears to my eyes :')
Must be all the carnage... yes, that's it. Oh, and the classic tune!
this intro is nostaligic af
Best intro want that theme back love F1 can't wait for the new season to begin
BBC production is something else. This is the best F1 broadcast intro.
Best intro to anything that's blessed the telly box.
Best intro of F1 ever
You knew that shit was gonna get real when this intro came on 👌🔥🔥
this is my first time seeing this and all i can say is wow…
Now this is one hell of an intro!
Back in a time when this sport, the men, and the cars were proper animals! You can’t beat that no matter how hard you try
The chain and engines screaming all the way into the 20s ... Pure bliss. Miss this badly.
Hands down the best F1 intro of all time
F1 needs to come back to the bbc with this intro just remastered
the first 3 words realy sum up f1
This intro still gives me the goosebumps even today in 2024.
When F1 embraced history and the danger, now it is money and a future annoying fanbase
The nostalgia of watching this when I was 13 hits so hard

O yes...that's what u call an F1 intro
Now this would be great for an F1 game. Bring back the classics from waaay back and have an intro such as this with a modern touch.
The carnage... love it!
Greatest intro ever

The only theme song
Timeless
Song - Fleetwood Mac - The Chain
My equal favourite with the 2006 intro
I would love to see a remastered version of this of the newer cars and drivers

I rember this as the f1 theme with all the engines and there were v8s in it

Channel 4 should bring this theme back to f1
Who's listening to this in 2024
You English, you know really how to make credits which sets in the trips (from Switzerland)
Oh hello fellow compatriot 👋🏻
Number 1, my tires.
F1, 2020, face whatever comes at you 👌
Melhor do que a TV Globo
The production value for that intro must of been insane
Better all time theme..
The lights go out: Engage!
Patrick Stewart and The Chain? Picard and The Chain?!
This is cool as fuck.
Sadly you don't get this type of racing in F1 anymore the rules are stupid especially with those stewards whatever they are.
Monza?

The BBC don't even have the broadcasting rights sadly
