"First Flight" is a VA compilation released on the highly acclaimed label Flying Rhino Records in 1996. First Flight is a Psytrance essential, and is considered to these days as a milestone in the
genre. The compilation features Classic tunes by some huge artists and pioneers of the genre, some of them defined an entire era and music style. Tracks like "Hallucinogen - Trancespotter", "X-Dream - Create Your Own Happiness" and "Slinky Nuns - Shitty Stick (Better Than A Poke In The eye With A)" are simply brilliant and are considered as an all-time classics.

I feel like 1996 was so much more creative for psy music than today...
It was just new. Electronic sounds wasn't so common at this time. That's it.
Nonono 2002 - 2004 was way better, all 90s psy have this lame kick and few synthesizers options

I can agree nowadays all psytrance tracks sound the same. same beat (bass line rythm) and the melodies are really crappy

room speakers. Maybe a different environment will give you a different perspective ;)

I want to get the Flying Rhino tatt as well! I am so glad to hear there are others out there as well! I used to spin the **** out of these rekkids. I need the ink on me as well. I am so grateful there are others like I said.
Yeah.... still sounds as good now as it did back then. It seemed like music was evolving into something new and amazing but for some reason it never has really gotten any better than it was then.
the only thing that changed is that LSD was used less witch made the music simpler and thus the production quality became more of a focus over the grooves and momentum of each track.
this is why Psytrance is so very different from this Goa trance.
It was more about getting a great track that you could trip balls to and dance your ass off getting covered in dirt and dust and stamping out your deamons on the the dance floor, than looking pretty on the dancefloor to the DJ's set.
Back then it was about taking a journey internally while dancing and enjoying the process with others.
Sadly MDMA rose and the music changed to suit its needs.. of acid music..
the producers were taking more coke in the studios..
94 - 99 was the pinical of Goa trance!
