- China says the nearly two-decade rivals Hamas and Fatah, along with a dozen other Palestinian factions, have signed a reconciliation pact in Beijing. Unlike many Western nations, China does not consider Hamas a terrorist organization and aims to assert its role as a key player in Gaza peacemaking and on the international stage.

Western media is mostly independent from there home states. They do critic there governments on a regular basis. And that is something that is almost exclusive to western media.

The less mainstream independent ones are great though. Like Democracy Now, for example. I appreciate their work.

As an African, I can confirm this is pretty much the truth. With cooperation and the acceptance of cultural and societal differences (things the west doesn't like) comes fewer confIicts and, thus, fewer warrs. This would of course have a very bbad impact on western economies, particularly the US and those closest to them. Those which are less dependent on the US may be okay though.

China’s policies is not to get involved with other countries internal affairs and this basically goes against what they are saying…. Good intention with mix messages…. This opens up the West to meddle with China’s internal affairs such as Taiwan not that the West needs this excuse but how China got involved to help with the peace talks needs to be clear….

When the Japanese came invade us. We were at civil war as well, revolutionary was fighting the official government. But since there’s outsiders to fight. We united together and fought them together, both party lost a lot of important generals. But in the end,we made it. So it only make since that they should united together against Israel

These two groups didn’t just compete for power to rule Palestinian territory of Gaza, Hamas actually hunted and killed or expelled Palestinian Authority from Gaza (fully handed over by Israel more than 15 years ago) and parts of so called West Bank (Israel’s historical Judea and Samaria)

The US, EU nations has sent massive shipments of vehicles and weapons into Gaza to the FATAH security forces in order for them to stage an armed coup against the HAMAS government which was elected in the first ever Palestinian elections. HAMAS found out about the coup and acted against it. Yes, it was brutal with atrocities committed against the FATAH security forces and collaborators but this is common in any civil war especially when it's being instigated by outside forces. I suggest you read and study.

The Beijing Declaration is great news for Palestine. Well done all. Although the Irish revolution against occupation by Britain occurred in 1916, it was 1922 before the in -fighting died down. If they truly love their nation, these 14 Palestinian factions must come together, men and women, and create a better, stronger, independent Palestine. As to the commentator stating how must Israel, ‘an interested party’ feel not knowing in advance about the Beijing talks, Isreal is NOT an interested party and, as a persistently occupying power, it certainly cannot legitimately be described as a ‘stakeholder’! It has clearly and aggressively demonstrated its intention to wipe Palestinian Civilisation and Culture off the map!!! In this day and age, no one country gets to agree, approve, shape the destiny of another. China, like most countries, respects international law and sovereignty of nations. The distancing referred to between China and Israel must surely have something to do with the ongoing ICJ and ICC investigations into Israeli war crimes, atrocities and genocide in Palestine?! We must congratulate China on its diplomatic efforts and wish the signatories to the Beijing Declaration all success with their future endeavours.
China only provides a connecting bridge. But if Palestine wants to establish an independent country, it must first unite itself and then think about how to coexist with Israel.

Because most of them are compromising, i.e. giving away power and acknowledge the Fatah is the only legal representative of Palestinian people (according to Chinese state media, if it's true).
They arent happy- its a compulsory act to get both their enemy (Israel) out there, even though it took them so long to bow down to their ego, at least its a start...

China is just a facilitator of the peace accord of the Palestinian factions, they don’t tell them what to do. It would be unChinese to do that. Ultimately it hinges on the Palestinian people themselves. It doesn’t hinge on others, least of all the West.
