- The Scheme Episode 2 BBC Scotland yeoldbasser
In the second episode, Gordon tries to get a job; Marvin's cousin moves in next door provoking a violent confrontation with Dayna; Kay gets arrested for assaulting a neighbour; Kimberley takes part in a dancing competition; and the Cree family make a first appearance. The Cree family have been involved in community initiatives for two generations, and opened the area's first community centre. They are now seeking to reopen it, and are raising money towards the reopening and running costs, but despite being offered a peppercorn rent, are struggling to raise the money to run it.
Kay loses patience with her young tenants and throws them out, and Bullet the dog ends up being rehomed after a dispute over a vet's bill resulting from an accident when he runs away. Dayna also leaves abruptly.

I was lucky to grow up in the South of England. My dad grew up on a council estate but went to night school for cheap while working full time and got himself an education so he could move out of there and better himself. He passed that on to me and made me a better person . Always try to keep moving forward and make it better for your kids.

Shows like this really show how vastly different areas of Scotland can be. I live only six miles from where this was filmed in a really nice area, and it's like an entirely different world. Reminds you how lucky you are
tbh Southcraigs is 2 mins away and arguably one of the most gentrified areas of Kilmarnock, you really don't need to look far at all!
I lived in Troon (well between Troon and Irvine, military housing) and i didnt even know estates like this existed! We nearly had a married quarter up here, and my mum kicked off and refused as we had lived there before and she loved it so wanted to go back so the warden caved and got us a house there instead. Even now, almost 30yrs after we left, i see this, and breathe a massive sigh of relief!

They get so strong up north. Even other Scots can't understand them. It literally sounds like a foreign language not English. I think in this video some are stronger than other Scots I've heard, but I can understand pretty much everything they say.
I get why some people find this sort of thing amusing, but I find it more depressing than anything else. These people lead such degrading lives devoid of any sort of structure or meaning. It makes me wonder what exactly happened in Britain in the past fifty or so years that has resulted in this. The working-class of our grandparent's and great grandparent's generation were materially worse off than these people, but there was no where near the level of cultural or moral decadence back then. People like to say that it's purely down to economic deprivation, but I think it's a lot deeper than that; it's a sort of spiritual decline, where people no longer see any purpose to their lives beyond momentary pleasures.
This is the reason I choose to live 50s apart from this PC I ignore the modern world, Its horrible, For the record English people have been treated like slaves for years by the rich. Even enslaved by the Romans were were slaves ourselves. BLM No one mentions that part.

There’s a documentary about the trend of “disco” dance in the UK. It’s a pretty horrible excuse for dance; certainly not an art form. It’s too bad, because some of the young ladies had a lot of dance/gymnastic talent.

PinkMonkeyBird I did what was classed as disco dancing in the early 90s when I was very young ( and in the UK) but this was at proper dance schools and we did exams in dance.
It just occurred to me that the entire country is funded just by cigarette and alcohol tax. 😂 Scotland's public services should be excellent.

Totally. The poor dog's actions speaks louder, more clear and much more understandable than any humanoid in this video. I know that this is their accent, but sadly, I can't understand the meaning of the whole situation. Is it Scottish, or Irish, or which one is that strong accent? I'm really curious about it, I love to hear different types of same language. Obviously, English isn't my main language, but usually, I can totally understand everything written by people from UK, and from USA, Australia, NZ, etc...
