Here's what I didn't like about this video. I'm not in Kyoto trying all these foods!!! I love your videos. They helped me out so much on my vacation to Tokyo last month. Keep up the great work!!!
I love that you have links to all the places and have everything nicely labeled and in order. It makes it to much easier to add this to my list for my trip. Thank you!
I really like how you give a balanced view instead of just saying everything is amazing. You're food videos are definitely my favorite Japan food video :D
I really like melon pan, but in Germany we don't have it. In the city Düsseldorf, there are shops, but that one you are eating in the video is a lot bigger and looks really fresh. =D I am jealous right now =D and I feel like, I only could eat melon pan in Japan, if I ever get there. I am not able to eat soy, I love it, but my body doesn't play along, and my stomach gets sick and all. =D So there aren't many options =D
I absolutely love your videos! So don’t change a thing :) I’m finally going to Japan in 2019 after years and years of wanting to go and experience it. Thanks to your videos I have a pretty good itinerary of where I’ll be visiting and eating. Keep up the good work!
Oh man, this brings back memories. I LOVE the Nishiki market, the variety of food there is just staggering. Not a huge fan of the octopus with quail egg on a stick but ya just gotta try it when at the Nishiki Market. 😄
i was in japan in october, we stayed on the shijo dori street and had the vanilla melon pan. the ice cream was so cold and the bread was so warm. very sweet and creamy but be careful if you have sensitive teeth lol
I love these videos and always look forward to them Friday night in the United States! I'd be curious about sushi quality with comparing Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo and also service wise. I know its all good but I wonder if there are any small nuances that you could pick out. Also, rest your voice! We don't want you to go hoarse!
I love it when you include sweets! I feel like I missed out, I was in Kyoto but I didn't know about this food market, I'm going there next time for sure :D and I think top 10 is good, it's better the more you get to show, because people like different stuff, and this way I'm pretty sure everyone finds something they like!
Hi Paolo! Recently stumbled across your channel while planning my Japan honeymoon trip! :) Your videos are so informative and fun to watch. Since you like Menchi Katsu, Curry Pan and fried chicken so much, I am wondering if you would do a video on your favourite shop or TOP 3 in Japan for each food? And Maiko can do Takoyaki haha! Arigatou gozaimasu~
About the melon pan... Have you tried the ones from Melon du Melon?? I know it's a franchise but they have so much variety! I tried last summer their Earl Grey tea melon pan and it was AMAZING. The stores look so english and fancy as well :3
Love your videos! I watch a lot of other food vloggers that go around japan, but all they do it the stupid "mmmm it's so good" spiel and they never describe how or what it tastes like which annoys me to no end. Good on you for delivering on actual recommendations/ opinions.
I like the top 7, as it'll probably make for a 10 minute video. My only real other suggestion is maybe split a destination like Nishiki Market into sections, like top 7 best desserts at Nishiki (or Kyoto,) etc. I'm not saying spend a day eating nothing but desserts trying to get diabetes, but maybe splice a few segments/days worth of filming into categories by taking all the desserts into one vid, and savory type foods into others? One last suggestion, leave Maiko some ice cream!
Paolo, im your big fan from Indonesia! and i loveeeeeeee eat! as like you know (or maybe doesnt know) most of us are Moslem, so we cant eat pork or drink alcohol. do you mind to share with us Halal or Moslem Friendly food in Tokyo? *fyi i will be in Japan in the end of Jan cheers!
Too sweet tamagoyaki is only in Tokyo region. Tamagoyaki of Kansai region is not sweet. Cos.it's seasoned with seafood broth. The food culture is so different between Osaka (west of Japan) and Tokyo(east)
I just subscribe, I like the culture in Japan, how children leave with their parents, and the way they move in groups. It makes them uniform. Your videos are informative and funny to watch. 😆
The scenery of Nishiki Market has also changed a little. As a local, I'd like to recommend Fuka. It's a fu shop, and their Taiyaki, made by baking soft Nama- fu. Fu is gluten cakes. Taitaki is so excellent. It's hard to tell, so come back again!
Loving these vlogs even though I probably will never get to visit Japan I love Japanese food but where I live we only have one good outlet. But the food looks so good you two are so funny together 👍😃
Great vid, I gotta find Umeshin, I love kaarage chicken/anything... and I'll look for Kofukudo and try the matcha. I really enjoyed Nishiki Market on my visit this past summer. There is a cool Snoopy store there where I got all sorts of souvenirs for my cousin.
Paulo, Your videos get me excited about my upcoming trip to Japan. I love the tips and it's helpful that you also include the prices, so I know how much to budget. It's awesome that you have a bilingual family, how fun! Thanks so much!
Paolo I challenge you, the next time that you go to NIshiki Market, to try the most disgusting thing I've eaten in all my life XD I have a video about it on my channel, if you want to check it out!
Hey Paolo rocks! I'm only 13 and love watching your video with my younger brother. We're from Canada and recently traveled in Tokyo. Enjoyed food tasting too..so we made few vlogs like you :) Maybe you have time to watch our video @Ak25s that would be awesome. We're a big fan of yours! @Ak25s
Found your videos 2 days ago and my bf and I have watched most of them already. Great content!! Going back to a Japan in November for a wedding, can you do a video on Nara?
Hi paolo I realy like your videos. Next year I'm traveling to Japan so they are very helpfull. Could you do a video about food without seafood. I realy don't like seafood except for fish. And I don't eat ham (jewish). So maybe chicken or vegeterian....Is there raman just with noodles, chicken and vegetables? Thanks.
Hey man, just wanted to say that I love your videos. I'm going to Japan this coming April, and your videos are really helping me plan a lot of my trip out. Keep it up!
You know that dashitamago is good when Maiko starts MMMing before she's even done biting through the piece. That one's going on the list for my next visit for sure.
I look forward to every one of Paolo's video's! Great info and advice! Visited Nishiki Market just last month and if I could just add my two cents. Not sure when Paolo visited but when I went (I think it was early afternoon) it was brutally crowded. Wall to wall people and no matter where you walk you'll be bumping into people. I think small kids would freak out. Many items for sale are VERY touristy and on the pricier side so choose wisely. The one item that really blew me away was the match mochi. You think it'd have a strong matcha taste because it was covered in green powder but it was mellow and melt in your mouth. Crazy good and inexpensive! We also tried Wagyu on a stick, don't do it. Very expensive and definitely not melt in your mouth. Same goes for the $30 grapes. They're good but not $30 good.
Hi Paolo, my partner and I love your energy in all the videos! We will be going to Japan this April and would love to see you try some vegan/ vegetarian food without dashi ! I know fish is integrated in the culture and would like to see how many options you can find within japan and especially in Kyoto as it has many more options ! It would be great to bump into you!
Thank you for your videos! very helpful, what are popular eating times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Japan? I'm trying to eat at off hours so I don't have to wait too long
Japanese must stop supplying "Fukushima radiation poisoned foods" to tourists in Japan! . . . Stop this exporting of radioactive foods to other countries! . . This is crazy!
I know it's normal to slurp your food in Japan but I wish you wouldn't in these videos. Please consider those who watch your videos who have misophonia (sound sensitivity) where noises like that can trigger extreme emotional distress.
Paolo as your doctor I high advise you to be very careful with all the raw or under cooked fish you are eating due to parasitic Infections. here is a list of possible parasitic Infections from eating raw or under cooked fish :D theconversation.com/the-top-ten-parasites-that-could-be-lurking-in-your-food-29015
whenever i watch this video and a new food item comes up, i'm like hm... it looks good but I can live without it. then you describe the food and now I cant stop thinking about them. i am going to buy a ticket asap or ill explode

Japanese must stop supplying "Fukushima radiation poisoned foods" to tourists in Japan! . . . Stop this exporting of radioactive foods to other countries! . . This is crazy!
Great video Paolo! I love the intro. Sounds like a remixed version 50 cent's In da club. Keep up the great work!
really like the new sound effects :)
Some of the food is barbaric and disgusting. Third world country type of food. Yuk!
Going to Kyoto this April. Thanks for this list. Definitely going to these spots!
Loved this video Paolo and Maiko! I would love to see how you rate the food out of 10! Overall, keep up the great work!!
I know it's normal to slurp your food in Japan but I wish you wouldn't in these videos. Please consider those who watch your videos who have misophonia (sound sensitivity) where noises like that can trigger extreme emotional distress.
I went to japan this spring. Im dying missing the food and sights.
From Tucson, Az USA
I loves the video my only input is that I don’t like hearing the word “creamy” that often. Look forward to watching more videos
