The story of Rebel spy Cassian Andor's formative years of the Rebellion and his difficult missions for the cause.
ndor is an upcoming American television series created by Tony Gilroy for the streaming service Disney+. A prequel to the Star Wars spin-off film Rogue One (2016), the series follows thief-turned-Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the five years before the events of the film.
Diego Luna executive produces and reprises his Rogue One role as Cassian Andor. Genevieve O'Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Fiona Shaw also star. Lucasfilm announced a series focused on Andor in November 2018, with Luna attached and Stephen Schiff hired as showrunner. Schiff was replaced by Rogue One co-writer Gilroy as creator and showrunner in April 2020. Filming began at the end of November 2020, with Gilroy unable to direct as planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming took place at Pinewood Studios in London, and on location around the United Kingdom, and wrapped by September 2021.
The first 12-episode season of Andor will premiere on Disney+ on September 21, 2022 with its first three episodes, while the rest of the episodes will release weekly until November 23. A second 12-episode season is in development, which will conclude the series and lead into the events of Rogue One.

That shot of the ship in the beginning is the definition of show not tell- the stakes feel so much higher for the regular people without the Jedi there to help them.A really great trailer.
The DoP and Colorist deserve an award, EARLY! This trailer looks fantastic.
Enjoyed the reaction..especially when you all RUN DAT TING BACK...as you can see, Tony Gilroy and his peoples ain't playing with us. They've already said they went old school and did everything on built sets and various locations so that's why these trailers are bringing that movie-quality to the table that Book of Boba and KENOBI lacked. They didn't use the VOLUME technology. One thing I wanted to let you guys know that I heard was even though ANDOR is about Cassian, it's suppose to also show a parallel story of Mon Mothma, and how she despite living good and being wealthy with a promising political career was moved to act against the Empire. I believe what its suppose to show you is how two totally different people from different backgrounds end up coming together along with others we will learn about to form the Rebellion and work together. The fascinating thing is how they both came to be a part of the Rebellion. Anyway, keep doing whatcha doin. Y'all make me laugh and get me excited. 👍
The difference between how this looks compared kenobi and boba is massive. This looks 100% like it could be a Star Wars movie character, actually shooting on location instead of in the volume all the time really helps give this a cinematic as fuck feeling. After the last 2 shows my hype for Star Wars in general was not very high but this trailer got me back on the hype train, I bet this blows obi and boba away.
Man stop waffling about things you don't know about. They did use the volume quite a bit but yes they tried to go for real locations as much as they can. Besides, volume done right looks just as good as the real thing and that's exactly what they're doing it. A tool used right can do wonders while in the wrong hands produce inadequacy.
@@unicornhuntercg slim, I’m going by the interviews I’ve seen Gilroy give. Fall back. If he and Diego say they ain’t use it…then that’s what it is. In my opinion, the volume did not work in BOB and Obi Wan Kenobi all the time. If you liked it kool. I’m not a fan of exclusively using the volume. I think some scenes look better on built sets and locations. Be easy tho.
@@unicornhuntercg nothing he said was wrong, the volume was greatly overused for kenobi and boba and it severely hurt the shows. This show doesn’t use the volume at all and they built a bunch of sets and shot on location and it shows because it looks way way better than kenobi or boba. The volume was used much better on mando, it’s a great tool if used properly and not too much which wasn’t the case with kenobi and boba.gilroy avoided uses the volume for this show for a reason and it’s paid off because visually and production wise this looks stellar and way better than the last 2 shows

This feels like the Better Call Saul of Star Wars. Prequel series showcasing multiple storylines following three different characters occasionally crossing paths.
So incredibly excited about this. So much better than the previous teaser we got. This brings Rogue One full circle and gives that grit and purpose to the franchise.

What you said about Guerrera, is what I'm hoping they'll be doing with Andor. When we see him in Rogue One, he's basically at his lowest and it wasn't till Jyn Erso gave him that spark of hope that he became good again. I want to see his descent into more extreme methods and spy backstabbing. That and also the Empire at its height with its politics. I think that'll be the thing that will separate this series from the other ones and it gives it the potential to be one of the best.
The level of acting prowess is "Mad" from the entire cast.

You really think Disney is not gonna insert either of those?? They are gonna find a way to sell merch somehow, and it's gonna be geared toward younger audiences in some way, count on it! Some kid is going to need to be rescued and there will be plenty of "cute alien creatures"...that's the Disney way!
@@collegebro85 Mando is basically the Grogu story… Obi wan was alot of Leia. Just doesnt fit. Rogue One wasnt playful even though kids showed up. I just dont think it fits the tone from before or what ive seen from this
@@collegebro85 Nope they actually stayed true to the tone and its audience. It's a slow burn political thriller, not something kids would like. It's finally something on the mature side and not full of kids and cute creatures.
I remember expecting nothing heading into the cinema on Christmas eve with my family to watch rogue one and we all left absolutely blown away, it was a great film and a great star wars film. Tony gilroy is on another level and this looks like the game of thrones of starwars
Clone troopers in the beginning, Storm troopers later on. I want to see that descion/transition by The Empire.
Of all things the politics of Star Wars is something I’m really intrigued about. At a time when the Empire was still relatively new, certainly compared to the Republic, seeing how Mon Mothma and others like her are viewing the changes taking hold of the galaxy and likely working to slow the process. Or even attempt to change the outcome, though we know how that goes since the senate will be dissolved in a few years. Like Raven said, they could bring many elements from the books (please be from Expanded Universe ones like Plagueis) and if it’s well written and planned out then this could be a great show!

I quite liked Solo and I definitely enjoyed Rogue One. The last 2 Star Wars shows didn’t do it for me especially the book of Boba Fett. Huge letdown imo. Andor looks good and feels different, so I’m pretty hyped for this for. Glad The Godfather of Harlem Forest Whitaker is back as Saw Gerrera.
Every time I watch great Star Wars and Luther, I want Sir Idris Elba in Star Wars.
I think future Star Wars projects should be more like this and Rogue One. As much as I enjoy the whole Jedi bs Sith stuff, THIS looks far more interesting

They finally understood that putting fanboys behind the camera and shooting in those LED screens with a CW budget doesn't really work and do Star Wars justice. It's time for the real pros: Tony Gilroy to show those amateurs how to make a good story, for Nicholas Britell to deliver the best Star Wars score since Jonh Williams, and Benjamin Carson from The Crown (that's right) to pull great nuanced performances out of these actors as only he knows.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't really like Rogue One except for a couple of characters and scenes. Granted, I only watched it once and I was wondering why we needed a whole movie about how we got the Death Star plans. I literally had no interest in this show, but after seeing the trailer, it's intriguing (the music got me!). I clearly need to watch Rogue One again before this drops. Let's see, shall we.
