Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer is an IMAX®-shot epic thriller that thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it.
The film stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer and Emily Blunt as his wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer. Oscar® winner Matt Damon portrays General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, and Robert Downey, Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.
Academy Award® nominee Florence Pugh plays psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, Benny Safdie plays theoretical physicist Edward Teller, Michael Angarano plays Robert Serber and Josh Hartnett plays pioneering American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence.
Oppenheimer also stars Oscar® winner Rami Malek and reunites Nolan with eight-time Oscar® nominated actor, writer and filmmaker Kenneth Branagh.
The cast includes Dane DeHaan (Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets), Dylan Arnold (Halloween franchise), David Krumholtz (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs), Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story) and Matthew Modine (The Dark Knight Rises).
The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan.
Oppenheimer is filmed in a combination of IMAX® 65mm and 65mm large-format film photography including, for the first time ever, sections in IMAX® black and white analogue photography.
Nolan’s films, including Tenet, Dunkirk, Interstellar, Inception and The Dark Knight trilogy, have earned more than $5 billion at the global box office and have been awarded 11 Oscars and 36 nominations, including two Best Picture nominations.

Before the greatest war in previous Yuga where there were nuclear and more deadly weapons used, Sri Krishna showed his gigantic intimidating form to Arjun to inspire him to perform his duty and said these lines which Oppenheimer took as an inspiration.

Nolan is my favourite director, and I'm so happy that Cillian Murphy is finally a lead role in one of his films, I feel like he's one of the most underrated actors out there!

This is gonna be Nolan's masterpiece, despite his already stellar catalogue. Every time he seems to out-do himself. I wasn't the biggest fan of Tenet, but I know how innovative it was, and how he told that story the best way that anyone can. I believe this will win best picture at the Oscar's based this trailer alone. And it might be the most important film he's ever made. If Zimmer is scoring this, it might be my favorite film of his, I cannot wait! Love your reactions as always!

If you watch the newly released nuclear test footage released by the US armed forces a few years ago you can see how accurate the effects in this movie are. The fireball at the middle of the blast really looks like a sun being born

I agree with you, he is arguably my favorite director/writer, that was once Kubric. But Nolans vision and ability to turn ideas and stories, others would have issues telling into mind being films. Is other worldly.
For me it’s Interstellar, inception and Tenet, then the dark knight rises.

I feel the same way. All his sc-fi films and the DKT are incredible films in their own right, but this might be the most important film he's ever made.

Christopher Nolan will be the greatest film maker of all time by the time he is done, he is on track to be so, the only reason why he isnt that yet is only because of volume. but in terms of quality, deeply researched topics and delivery, no one can touch him and he does this for every film he makes. he is the guy who makes complicated projects that actually make sense because he makes it make sense before he puts it out , he doesnt insult his audiences intelligence,

My favorite Christopher Nolan movie is The Dark Knight. Much like Quentin Tarantino, I gotta have a certain taste for a Nolan movie and Oppenheimer qualifies. This movie about to bring the heat with a top notch cast and very interesting story. My most anticipated summer movie is Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Pt One.

by the greatest peace mankind has ever seen they are talking about the nuclear deterrent, or the existence of nuclear weapons on opposing sides essentially preventing war between superpowers. Despite the negativity towards nukes they have largely accomplished that with no global superpowers going to war with each other ever since (proxy wars don't count)
